Very nice challenging platformer with a pretty cool gimmick. The art is really cute and I just cant get enough of that music, it reminds me of the forsaken fortress in the windwaker. However, though I love the water mechanic, i really wouldnt say it's out of control since it's engineered to fit the level, and you often even yourself have control of the water level.Id say it only partially fits. But out of context, this game is really fun, and could be an area of a bigger platformer game.

How does your game fit the theme?
The main thing that differentiates this game is the focus of platforming on erratic water levels, in other words, a out-of-control flow of water.

Y'all have a wonderful puzzle-platformer here! I'd love to see where else you can take these core mechanics.
Don't be afraid to experiment more with verticality and horizontal flow -- levels towering into the air (or plunging into the depths), and water pushing and pulling players laterally would bring even more variety to the game.
But given the time constraints, y'all made some really solid bones. Great job!
I like it a lot. I feel like the speed running community would dig it greatly. The only thing I would add for us casual players is a couple of checkpoints.
I think the presentation here is really solid, and the platforming controls feel pretty good (I would have liked to use W or up rather than space to jump though). I do like the water level mechanic, although the fact that it appeared to depend on the position in the level rather than some kind of timer meant that I didn't feel it impacted the gameplay in any fundamental way, any more than regular platformer level design. This is a really nice and solid product for 48 hours though, I'm properly impressed. Good luck on future projects!
Very difficult but really fun and a lot of content for a 48 hour game. The levels could get frustrating but I don't really know what I was expecting since the entire game is one huge water level lol. There were a few issues such as the character sprite glitching when underwater but I'm sure you tried your best to fix that in the time you had. I also found the characters idle animation quite unnerving since they were looking straight at me lol. Despite these small details, overall the game is a solid hardcore platformer and a great achievement for such a short amount of time, great work!
Pretty tought but solid platformer, the level design is great, well built around the water mechanic and a great difficult curve, only thing I'd mention like a few others have is the dying when swimming down, perhaps the ground spikes when swimming could have their collision zones toned down just a bit as well. But, overall awesome job, would definitely like to see more of this!
Probably my favorite game jam game so far. Man that last level was tough!
Nice platformer, only thing I got a bit annoyed about was how characters died if gone under the screen, due to it always being water it only really happened when going down, so feeling like it wasn't needed. But otherwise fun game.
Man, just the title screen alone was worth 5 stars! An interesting mechanic and a charming artstyle; I really dig it. Fantastic job!
Man, this game looks really good. I love the art, and I like how it almost feels like the water is working with you, not against you. The level layout is clearly done by a pro. Good job.
Cool game! A cute look and feel and a unique but intuitive main mechanic! Good job!
I like this game's look and feel! Water physics are always fun to try and tie into platforming, and you do it pretty dang well here. Kept being overzealous about correcting my trajectory when moving underwater and died quite a few times to that, but that's on me being bad at these things. The game is great, I like the choice of background music as well. Nice job! :D
Also, here's the bad fan art:
I really enjoyed it, very fun. I think having the water be more unpredicable would make it fit the theme more, it seemed to rise and fell when I needed it to. But overall had a great time with it.
I'm not sure I got how it fits the theme, but the mechanics, enemies and the way you utilise them are clever. It's a bit too unforgiving to my taste, but otherwise I liked it!
Agreed, it's not 100% within the theme, but still a cool, cute plaftormer !
Really good presentation! Love the pixel art and that main menu looks especially amazing. I like needing to account for the water's effects on the environment as well as on my character's platforming. My one issue is being in water feels kinda awkward and makes some of the platforming annoying occasionally. Overall good submission!
Very solid execution, nice juicy animations. I feel like the theme is a little stretch, the water feels like it moves how you roughly need it to most of the time, but a solid game nonetheless
