This was really fun to play with a simple concept. I enjoyed the mechanics of the stage shifting, and I had to keep myself on my toes. I found the movement a little weird at times, but I think that was a result of the pushback from the cannon being hard to predict (depending on the angle your player character is pointed). Still very fun to play, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and the feedback is noted ! :)

Really fun game and a good take on the theme. I finally got 101 after many tries to break 100. I liked the movement controls a lot. Maybe add a small charge sound to the shot or to enemies so players know when its coming without looking. But I am nit picking. I liked the look and sound a lot too. Great game!

Thanks for the comment ! Yeah I ran out of time to add sfx, wanted to add a charge fx, but it take time to adjust it to the time of the charge or finding a good loop that can adapt itself overtime. Thanks for playing, I'll check out your game when I get the time :)

Looks great. Other than balancing, the only piece of feedback I have for you is to maybe try pushing the player forward instead of backward when they shoot, because it is really hard (for me) to process both directions at once.

Developer (1 edit)

I don't think I agree, since the logic is that it's the recoil that pushing you back (like the mini gun in Men In Black 1, yeah really old reference). I'll take note on that though. Thanks for the feedback and playing the game !

Super Cool! Got 92 score. Was quite hard with the projectiles spawning faster than a shot charged up, to me, everything was slightly fast - from the travel time of the projectiles to the escalation. But non-the less everything was super clear to read and solid take on the theme! Good job :)

Good work! The game felt really fun and I enjoyed the gameplay and satisfying graphics. Well done! :)

The game is really fun. I love the aesthetic of the game. Although it is quite hard with the constant bombard of threats. Overall, great game!

Developer

It was meant to be hard. Thank for the review !

We interpreted the theme in the same way but I think you adhered to the theme better than me. Fun to play overall i think!

Developer

Similar idea, but other have done the 'auto shooting' thing. Really came up to fast with the title, but I wanted to submit early to not get a suprise at the end of the jam lol Anway thanks for sharing !

looks nice, i liked how a first the game seems to reward staying at the center, but the constantly changing platform make you move. Really engaging.

Thanks for the comment !

Really like the concept and I felt that there were more approaches, I had to consider the situation I was in and think about my placement. Maybe the difficulty is something to think about, definitely was pretty hard for me at least. I got better once I got the hang of it though. Presentation's pretty good & the graphics are vibrant as well, good job!

Developer

Yeah I balance the game like at the last minute, but you know, clock ticking so I just send what I had. Thank for the feedback, it's appreciated !

This is fun AND has a cool aesthetic, could definitely see this being a party game where you duke it out for survival with 4 players, great job on this!

Developer

Yeah I thought about making a couch party game, but since it was an Online game jam, it wasn't really going to be possible. Thanks for the comment !

Slick presentation, and very elegantly designed! My only real complaint is that dying feels very abrupt, I imagine that making the play area just a bit bigger would allow for a more apparent difference between success and failure.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Dully noted, I really had a hard time to make the hole different from the background. The fog helped a lot but I think what the biggest issue is the smoke after the explosion of a bomb hiding the stage for too long. Making the stage bigger would definitely help too.

Simple concept with a good execution, art direction is also solid. Very frustrating to get pushed off the edge, but in a good way that let's you want to try again and again. Great job!

P.S.: Made it to 109...

Developer

Thanks for the comment ! If you made to 109, you pretty much got where there is nothing really more to see :) Thanks for trying my game and good luck in your game dev journey !

Very nicely done, the fact that your cannon moves you makes for some very dicey moments. Everything felt super smooth, it ran really well. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the comment !

That's one of the most concise presentation I've seen on this jam ^^ gameplay felt really smooth. And good idea overall! It has good openings for scenarios, props and enemies. Solid entry!

Developer

Thanks for your comment ! Yeah I try to not overscoping thing anymore, especially when working in solo. So yeah !

Very fun game! It felt very polished for a 3D game and it was very addictive. The scoring was a nice touch to keep the player coming back for more and I like how the cannons pushed you off the map rather than damaging you, that way the game had a clear focus. The music was also great, although there could have been more of a clear sound effect just as the platform is about to change. Overall the game was very enjoyable and felt really good to play, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment ! Wish I had more time for sound design, but ran out of time and put the bare minimum. SFX to warn the player about the tile is defenitly something missing !

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game,  executed really well and it fits the theme nicely. Could easily see this being a great party game if you threw other players into the mix and had more variation in the platform shape. Good Job!

Developer

Thanks !

Yeah the platform shape was a last minute decision (before the tile was just randomly disapearing and reapearing). Problem was that sometime the tile would just randomly appear bellow the player and you would just die for no reason.
