The idea is really interesting and it create some interesting puzzles and situations. The level design is ok but could be more focused to leverage on the idea. I also had a lot of issues for selecting and sticking other blocks on me.

I think the concept is really good and would be worth exploring after the jam.

Really original, super cool! Controls felt a little clunky when adding / removing parts, but it wasn't too big a deal. Nice work!

What a unique concept, at first sight i thought it was just a platformer with a single sprite but i was delightfully wrong. The mechanic of adding and substracting parts and them interacting with your total mass for different jump heights is filled with possibilities and requiring a specific shape for the end makes level design managable.

My only grope with this game would be aesthetics, get some cool style and oh god please throw that chromatic aberration shader to the river and have a viking funeral for it.

Theme,  the only one sprite is cliche and detrimental but being "one with the world" is what really sells the adherence to the theme.

Originality, in spades, a great original concept in a sea of 2D platformers, a breath of fresh air.

Developer

That's a really well summarized feedback of all the feedbacks we have received. We'll definitely be taking into account the aesthetic changes, and will be adding some new elements in the game :) thank you

The final part of the level was very smart, I really liked it. Only thing that bothered me a bit was the sound when you fail, overall good game, congrats

Developer

Thanks a ton! :) We'll be updating the game soon with some of the feedbacks implemented. Do keep an eye out for it.

This game is really original and perfectly fits the theme, but in practice, it feels really tedious, mostly due to the number of inputs to add or remove blocks to progress through the level.
The purpose is a bit defeated when you also understand that you can take the right amount of block to the end, then build your shape there.
I think your game would have greatly benefited from a more "puzzle-oriented" level design, maybe with blocks you can and cannot grab, in a more closed space.

Overall, great idea, but would be better fitted for a different context.

Thanks for the great in-depth feedback! We planned to do a lot of things, but had to limit ourselves due to the 48 hours, we will be updating the game with new levels, adding new puzzles and elements in the game :)

Wow! This a clever one! Great and creative use of theme but the controls could be a bit more polished. Nevertheless it's a great game!! Very well done!!

Thanks a lot Tapehead :) Means a lot coming from the developer of another game I really liked a lot! :)

Absolutely loved the game! It's creative, challenging and really fun! Hope you upload more levels soon. Great job guys! :D

Developer

Thanks a ton! we will be uploading more levels soon, stay tuned :)

This definitely is a creative gem, but it needs some polishing. The controls feel janky at times, with you being able to hold to walls by just running into them and also with the player being aligned to the block they are on when they stop moving. I get that alignment might be necessary for the attaching to work out, but I feel like that should only happen when you initiate the attaching, not at every stop. Still definitely one of the more fun games of this jam.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! We playtested the game and found these problems too, we'll be fixing them soon :) Thank you!

Developer

Hey! We've changed our snapping to the grid. Now it only snaps when you attach/detach, thanks for the wonderful feedback again! :)

There are so many creative ways to finish a level. Perfect!

Developer

Glad you had fun! :)

Perfection. Could only wish there were more levels!

Developer

We'll add more levels and update the game soon :) Thanks a lot.

Really clever game! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thanks a lot for adding it in your compilation :)

Lovely game. Love the mechanic of becoming one with the world. I found the game to be just the right difficulty although I'm the type that likes difficult. I really would love to see more levels in the future!

Developer

Thanks a lot Grizzly! :) We'll notify you when we add more levels to the game.

Very interesting game mechanic. I liked that I could kind of "phase" through walls.
I suppose you also got the theme in with the player being "one" with the world.

I'm wondering if you could incooperate more interesting mechanics. Maybe blocks that you cant attach to.
Assets very nice. I like the style. The chromatic aberration on the sides was a bit too strong in my opinion though.

Would like to see a version with sound effects and more levels.

Good job overall!

Developer

thanks a lot Tjakka :) this really means a lot! we will be working on fixing issues with the game and upload a new version soon

Pretty mind puzzling game although it is kinda weird on difficulty side.  Would be much nicer if it less clunky.

Developer

thanks for the feedback! we'll be working on making the game less clunky :)

Submitted(+1)

It's a unusual game with a very interesting core mechanics. But I see only 2 problems:

  1. Jump mechanics. It feels a little bit weird and sluggish. It's very important to make it enjoyable.
  2. The difficulty curve is clunky, the first level is too hard for the start. It's very important to teach this peculiar mechanics gradually.

Hope, you'll develop your idea further.

Developer

Thanks for the in depth feedback! :D We'll be working on that!

I found the idea of attaching and detaching blocks to yourself very original and liked how it tied into the gameplay. It's nice how I can be creative and approach the game in different ways. Good job.

Developer

Thanks a lot Swes! :) Those beautiful words mean a lot :D

The mechanic of attaching and detaching blocks was refreshing!

It took me some time to get the hang of it, but it gives possibilities to create very interesting puzzles.

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot for the feedback t.brugel! :)

This is a fun game and the locking and unlocking mechanic is fun. I would add the ability to chop off multiple blocks. The music is fine, but the finish ring is too loud.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback whiteRocket! :) We will eventually add the ability to attach and detach multiple blocks.
