The gravity is a bit too intense for my liking, but other than that, it's great! The graphics are fantastic, and so is the music and sound.

Something about this reminds me of Nitrome games.

The gameplay is smooth and the art was amazing, especially the victory dance.

love the concept and the art

Great game! Love the cute monkey and their victory dance. It's all great, art, music, sound, design. The tutorialization, those little Gameboy consoles showing button presses was super cute. My friendly nitpick is the one-hit-kills + collect-o-thon + no-checkpoints is kind of brutal, especially in later levels where the difficulty gets kind of mean lol. Not a big deal, I played all the way through, but I did give up on the bananas.

Great job!

I think we lost our focus a bit during the last few days of the jam. We decided very early on to go without checkpoints and only design short levels so it wouldn't get frustrating... And then went ahead and designed levels that are probably too long.

Huge fan of this game. Like, huge. I was playing it for a while yesterday and I completely forgot it was made for a game jam. The difficulty ramped up, but that's totally to be expected, however a checkpoint would have been nice. After your 3rd, 4th, 5th death you don't really feel like going back and finding all the bananas again and just head straight for the exit. That's honestly my only complaint, and it's very minor.
Audio sounded very authentic, as were the graphics. Gameboy soul was there in spades. Superb submission.

Thanks for the kind words!

Super cute!

Platformers never fail :) and they always feel like a gameboy game. I liked the combination of controls and how the theme was used. Not sure the point of converting enemies in plants but it was nice to attack them. Really liked the game overall.

the graphics are the MVP on this one, but everything else is also very good!

I like this alot! But the controls were a little hard to get used to

This was so much fun! I really loved the variety you were able to put in this game! I really enjoyed the planing mechanics as well as the animations and callbacks to DKC with the end level animation and giant banana <3

Awesome in every way ! Graphics are amazing, the game feel is awesome, and the different uses of the plants are nice, truely a great game !

Well done !

Great game, this one is a winner in all aspects!

Really solid game. I wish the bananas maybe gave you extra lives if you collected enough. I know time is limited in a Jam, but a reason to collect bananas would probably make me .

Very solid game! The seed mechanics are nicely introduced and escalated later.

Excellent presentation, I love the cute aesthetics. I'll definitely revisit this one.

Great work!!

Loved the mechanics.

Very reminiscent of Kirby in all of the best ways, I love the platform-extending twist on this classic platformer.

Kirby's Dream Land is indeed a big inspiration of ours!

There's one part in one of the later (last?) levels that I wish was switched to teach the mechanics in a slightly different order. I also wish the hitboxes for bouncing on enemy heads was just ever so _slightly_ more forgiving. Lastly, I wish there were checkpoints in the levels so I didn't have to do all the early stuff every time I died. Either that, or potentially a life system so you can fail maybe once or twice before having to start the level over.

Outside of those small things, this game was great! Art is spectacular -- things like the spinning bananas reads so nicely. Sound effects are spot on. Music is great, though I wish there was a slight bit more variety there for how long the game is (maybe I'm just slow). Solid entry and I had a blast playing it.

The difficulty curve definitely climbs pretty fast but I really like the planting mechanic, im impressed at the amount of levels you were able to make :D
