the game is very good and fun to play with some challengin parts. I really like how you change the palette every room it enhance the feeling of a gb game

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Our artist worked really hard perfecting the palettes, so glad you appreciated them!

Super charming!! I love the vibe and feel of this overall. Exploring the house is a lot of fun!!

I liked the squid game nod... but that's where I got hung up. :P I think for me, I was in fun adventure type mode... exploring and finding stuff, and trying to figure out what to do with things. (more thinking/puzzle mindset)... then the game kept requiring me to do these crazy hard dexterity type challenges. :O Which sort of broke me out of it. I think for the red light/green light challenge, the controls and collision were too unforgiving to make it fun. If I goofed and got caught because I didn't hide at the right time, I would accept that. (Especially if the controls were snappy). But most of the time I failed because I got hung up on collision and then got spotted. So I sort of rage quit at that point. Which honestly bummed me out, because I really wanted to see where it was going! (The fire ants had the same issue for me). It was such a hard fail, it made it less fun, but at least that was more forgiving.

Well, that's my long winded feedback... :P But only because I really really loved the vibe of this!! It's super cute and I loved the humorous tone. It's so great. Sort of this mix of charming and... dark? lol.

Really nice job!! Also... the GB tone is spot on.

Thank you for your feedback! We have seen a couple people struggle with the collision for the red light/green light area and the ant area as well, collision could use a little tweaking for sure. Thanks for trying your best to persevere!

This game is OOZING with personality and I love that. Extremely memorable and fun to play through! I did get a bug where the game froze when I caught the flower during red light/green light when it turned around, which softlocked the game. Otherwise, lots of fun and a great time!

Developer

Thanks for playing!! Yesss that bug seems to happen when you interact with the flower on the same frame it turns around and we're not too sure how to fix it 🙃 Glad you enjoyed anyway^_^

You put a lot of effort in this game and it really paid off! Good job! I haven't played this type of games so it's was little bit weird feel but when I see this is polished and well executed game.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Yea we really just wanted to put Granny in Situations and tell a fun story!

Very humorous game. Finally made the pie with toilet water

Developer

Thank you! The plants must have been drooling 🤤

Really fun idea!

I like the idea of getting different endings depending on how many ingredients you got right. Two of my children didn't like my pie :(

Thanks for playing! There's always next time ;_;

I got some nostalgic Maniac Mansion vibes while playing this. Exploring a decrepit mansion and meeting wacky characters. Nicely written too!

Congrats!

I love that connection,  I don't think any of us thought of that!

update: our artist totally had Maniac Mansion in mind! Good eye!

I really enjoyed the music and the art were really fun! I enjoyed the platforming section the best, but got a little lost/ confused with the controls and some of the colors made it hard to see what was interactable. It seems like a very expansive game!

Thank you! ❤️

Daamn, good dame. I made one of the best darn pies ever. I dont know if it was supposed to end on a black screen with some sick tunes going on in the background, but great game either way.  Seems there is placeholder art of "bug spray" in the living room? :)

Developer(+1)

thanks for playing! Yea that's a bit of a bug, it's supposed to go to a short credit sequence but apparently we didn't code it for that ending that ending specifically, the others should have it.

I love the vibe of this game so much. So funky and nasty in the best way possible. The dialogue made me laugh out loud so many times!!

Great job!

Developer

thanks so much! That's so lovely to hear 😊

YO this one grew on me the more I played it. Aesthetically it looks fantastic. The sprites make gorgeous work of the limited palette and resolution - My only suggestion would be to make interactables more noticeable, since the whole environment is so detailed. The music is Gameboy as hell - at first I wasn't sure if my palate was quite adjusted for some of the tonal choices, but the more I listened to it and got into the game I was enjoying how intentionally unsettling it was. Really nice job overall!

Thank you so much!

Okay, It's the first game of the jam that I rate and give a review, and it's already getting weird.

You play as a grandma with a dirty house that needs to bake a pie, and she takes a chicken leg from the trash can, then she meets a flesh abomination, have to dodge spike thrown by an Eldrich horror creature...

You said in the description that she has plant babies, but from the look of them, it's a bit hard to believe for me.

I liked it, though I think a crouch would help with the platforming segment

Developer

which segment are you talking about? The basement does have a crouch if that's the part your talking about.

o sry, i was pressing s to crouc

Developer

No worries I'm glad you got it working!
