A good platformer action game.

I loved the Zombie/Mecha thing.

Developer

thank you!

Really solid entry! Loved the mount sections and classic mine cart action! I had an issue fighting the boss at one point... as the tomatoes stopped showing up all together, so I had to casually end that life but it worked fine the next time.

Developer(+1)

thank you! Yeah sometimes this happen but have not enough time to fix it 😫

DBZ X PVZ!??

This was SO much fun and very ambitious! I'm really impressed with what you came up with in the time given. I loved the mechanics and how easy it was to pick up and play this game. Incredible work!

Haha nice title, same energy as the image "I'm covered in Spiders, Man!" Extremely well made game and it truly ranks Game Boy soul at the top. I agree with some people that the jumping feels weird as the player gets pulled down instead of fall naturally, but other than that it's a really nice game!

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback! I am getting a lot of comments regarding the jump. Maybe because I programmed it from the beginning I don't notice anything strange, but I understand that the problem is that the drop is too fast ?

Submitted(+1)

Yeah quite fast, when the player jumps, it's like floating but then it drops fast, so the problem can be the floating jump or fast drop, but it doesn't really hurt gameplay much tho so ur probably fine.

Developer

I guess i got used to it during development. thanks a lot for the ideas! I will improve those things in a future a full version release!

Super impressive how many mechanics you got in there, especially for an actual GB game!

The game looks really nice too, I really love the boss charadesign (though 5 hits is way too much for this kind of fight :D)

Those poor zombies! Great game, really has the gameboy vibe! Good job!

Developer

thank you! 😁

You really went nuts on that gameboy feel! I felt like I was holding an console. Movement could be a little bit different I dont say its bad but I needed some time to get used to it on very start I couldn't even jump over that npc :)

Submitted(+1)

this is great,my only complaint is the jump felt wrong. it was slow on the lift of then got faster mid air. but other then that it was great

Submitted(+1)

It was a really fun experience, great graphics, simple but fun gameplay and I loved the use of sound effects (Especially the "Ay mamasita" one lol) Only complaint is that i felt like i did no damage to the boss and i just lost all my lives to them.  Great game nonetheless

Developer

Thank you! "Ay mamasita" is the best thing about the game xd.

You could have told me this game was a real GB game, i would have believed you ! You did an awesome job there, well done !

Developer(+1)

thank you very much! I found yours very nice!

Gostei muito, o jogo me da uma vibe de ser legitimamente para gameboy , com todas limitações do hardware que haviam na época. A musica é impressionante.

Developer(+1)

thank you very much! the game actually runs on a gameboy so it has the same limitations.

Very nice platformer, liked the stile, and the interesting mechanic.

Maybe it was the machine I'm using but I experienced a lot of lag spikes, always in the same areas. Other than that I loved it. Wasn't able to beat the boss, perhaps you should show how much life left he has.

Developer

it's not your pc's fault. those lag spikes are due to the limitations of the gameboy. in areas with many sprites it slows down as it happened with warioland for example.

Submitted

so it was a feature?

Submitted

what engine did you use?

Developer

its Gbstudio , for making real Gameboy games

Submitted

Very authentic experience.

Being able to ride a fire breathing giant zombie was something I didn't know I needed.

Good stuff!

Definitely reminded me of a gameboy game! Nice mix up of mechanics, the cart section looked really awesome but it seemed like i didn't have much control over how it played out. I made it to the first boss, hit him in the front a couple times, and wasn't sure if it was causing any damage, then died and got a gameover. I had a lot of fun though, very solid entry!
