Congrats on your submission!  I couldn't get very far.  I am not sure if it was a bug, but I'd miss a jump somehow and when I would go to jump again, the player would jump VERY very high.  I wasn't sure what I did to trigger it.  I kept falling because of the moving platforms, I couldn't jump on some and keep up.  I really like the pixelart.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for pointing this out! It may be a bug from my movement script when adding downward velocity. I couldn't get to this before submission, but I will definitely be more aware of this in my future games :)

Excellent Game. Has challenging platforming mechanics e.g: when you move onto a moving platform, you have to move around where its moving, or you will fall down. Nice Pixel Art Graphics. The enemies always follow your position, so you need to be aware of that. I have noticed screen shearing when moving around the levels in the downloadable windows version of the game.[Have you switched v-sync to on, this should solve this issue]. Keep up the Good work :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Hmm, I don't know if there is a v-sync option, I used Unity to make it. I'll definitely look into it. :)

I really enjoyed the character graphics, that little guy looks great!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! I'm still new to making pixel art, but I liked how the little guy turned out :)

Nice work. Controls felt good and the pixel art was simple and effective. I think the camera needs some work though. It zooms in too close and lets the player get so close to the edge of the screen that you often can't see what's ahead of you. Other than that great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing!! :)

Quite a fun little game! The art style is nice and the golems are kind of cool!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)

Nice work. The golems were a cool choice and the world was fun to explore with some good little puzzles. The moving platforms made things quite challenging, though at times it was tricky when they didn't carry you along .. but I get where you were going with that. The arena fight at the end was a good touch. Overall it was engaging and looked good. Enjoyed the jump and the way the hero moves. Good job

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)

This is a bit of fun.

The art was pretty good, the music was OK and the sounds are pretty nice.

The only bit I found a little annoying was the moving platforms, unless a the platform is moving up and down, you need to move in tandem with the platform or it will leave you behind.

Otherwise I liked the game, and the golems look pretty good as well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I was intending for the platforms to be more of a challenge for the player so that it simulated a real life moving platform where it would be hard to maintain balance. I could have definitely done better in maybe adding something like minimal camera shakes to indicate that the platform was unstable. I really appreciate you playing the game :)

Submitted(+1)

Maybe you could figure out a way to only add that effect if you're too close to the back edge of the platform as it moves, and add the screen shake to accentuate the effect occurring.

E.g. if the platform is moving left and the player jumps onto the right side within say, 48 pixels of the right edge, the player character would stay stationary and fall off the edge if the player doesn't move while the platform moves and vice versa.

If the player is between the 48 pixel limit and the other edge, then the player moves with the platform.

The player, would then need to move to the centre of the platform, or risk falling off the edge after jumping onto it.

In reality, for when you jump onto a moving object travelling at a fixed speed, it is only the initial acceleration to the speed of the object you're on when you would find it difficult to balance, and likely fall off.

Oooooh that's a good idea! Thanks! :)

Boy, this hero sure knows how to jump! Fun game - it was nice exploring the world and solving little puzzles. Interesting choice using golems as enemies!

Appreciate you! Thanks for giving the game a play :)

The game has a lot of charm and i enjoyed it good job. It looks  like you didnt get the moving platforms working fully as they dont carry you along like i expected them to (although maybe this was intentional) and the vertical ones gave me issues with not refreshing my jump all the time, i understand this tho cause moving platforms can be tricky and getting them working as well as they do is still quite impressive. Another thing i will note is that the camera had a really big deadzone where it wouldnt follow the player which made it somewhat difficult to see what was infront of me. overall tho qutie fun i really enjoyed the arena fight at the end :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! The moving platforms not carrying you as expected was intentional to simulate a real platform moving and not being able to keep balance. The jumping bug though I noticed after submission. I'm definitely gonna look at improving detections for grounds and other things in future games. I really appreciate you playing!

Great game! The controls could use a bit more juice. It's surprisingly fun to die on the spikes, really good game. 👍

Developer

I appreciate the feedback! I'll definitely juice up the controls on my next one. Thanks for playing :)

Thank you for playing! I tried to keep the balance with the leap of faith in lv2.  Appreciate the feedback :)

Quite hard this, but enjoyable none the less!

Developer

I appreciate you taking the time to play it :) Ill work on balancing on the next game :D

I spent waaaay longer playing this than I should have.  I couldn't clear the second room with the candles and the diagonally moving platform.  I lit all the candles but I couldn't make the jump at the end.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I wanted that last jump in the 2nd room to be sort of a leap of faith kinda thing, but was unsure if it was too difficult or not haha.

Submitted

Yeah I think it was too difficult lol.  I actually recorded my playthrough along with a bunch of other games.  I'll probably upload it to youtube at the end of the jam along with all the other games I recorded

Developer

That's awesome! I'll be on the lookout for the link to watch it :)
