Made it to sector 10! I liked powering up Bun Bun until he was just crushing everything. Great job on this!
thanks a ton for playing and making it all the way to end game!!! :D
Interesting design and cute art. The tutorial is too long and should be gamified, because right now it feels like reading a moderately complex tabletop game instructions and then playing a fast paced game. Even though I do see some of the elements were explained in the game later on.
Instructions should be on the page or accessible through menu. I understand that the mechanics is rather complex, so it is done this way, but it is somewhat confusing to play at the beginning. I even wondered if the game is on full auto mode because enemies died even when I did nothing (still not sure if it is haha).
This text font in in theory always a good look for pixel games, but in practice it is quite tiring to read and takes more space to be readable than other fonts (so, for example, on a mobile screen it likely wouldn’t be great).
Visually it is very well thought (setting instruction pop ups aside etc), interesting idea.
I do not play games like that, so maybe it was confusing for me more than others.
P.S. it is interesting how making bunnies evil is so popular in media..
thanks for playing and feedback ^^
I love how you incorporated the theme and the auto-battler style gameplay! As others already mentioned: the tutorial was a bit on the longer side, but having the key reminders everywhere was helpful! Overall great job!
Thanks a bunch for playing and the feedback! :)
Damn a ton of mechanics for such a short term, good job! One thing i'd change is the tutorial is wayyy to long, would be nice if it poped up during gameplay to explain what's going on instead of just reading it before playing
Definitely would have been a good idea to budget time to have tutorial info more visible during gameplay, thanks a lot for playing and the feedback!
Whoah!!! the game looks awesommeeee! great job
Thanks so much!! :D
That's a lot of mechanics implemented in a short space of time! The autobattler aspect was nice, though it did mean just a lot of waiting around for battles to finish. I was hideously overpowered on every level until I got to the end where I died a quick and humiliating death.
hehe, thanks a lot for playing Bun Bun! :)
That was a lot of stuff for a jam game! Little too complicated for me as I didn't really understand how the sectors worked, but I think I got pretty far. Would definitely help with a slower progression and spread out information, but for a game jam submission, great job!
Thanks a lot for playing!
You managed to pack a lot in here for a jam game. The bunny taking over planets was funny and I love it. Good amount of mechanics and upgrade options. Maybe the intro could be trimmed down a little and some things made clearer, but overall it was really fun and I liked the take on tiny worlds. excellent work
Thanks a bunch for the feedback and playing!
Overall, this is a great entry that I enjoyed playing. There was a bit of information overload in the beginning during the tutorial, and I pretty much figured it out as I went along afterwards. I was happily feeling the power creep as I jumped from planet to planet, until another sector change threw a huge difficulty spike at me and humbled me and my poor upgrade decisions. Well done!
Super glad you enjoyed playing! :)
Nicely done battling roulette game. Good job!
Thanks for playing Bun Bun! :D
The extensive intro didn't actually tell me which keys or controls to use - reading comments here helped!
Otherwise, wow! Good job with a lot of gameplay here!
There is a section in the tutorial that shows a picture of the buttons beside the mana panel and states that the input icons will change based on your input device (in the provided image it shows the default keyboard inputs), maybe it needed to be a little more in your face than it already is though xD Thanks a lot for playing and the feedback! :)
Awesome game, i like it, very good job, congrats!!
Thanks a lot! :D
Great game well done!
Thank you! :)
I was doing great, destroying planets in a single hit, taking down everything without trouble. Then I went to a new sector where every planet had three times as many enemies which all took multiple hits to defeat. Now Bun Bun is no more.
Even though there were lots of explanations for how things worked, I didn't really know what the optimal strategies were. I mostly sunk all my points into stats after every planet and never used the special abilities. Somehow those stat gains weren't enough after a certain point, so perhaps I missed something important.
Thanks so much for playing! I"m sure Bun Bun will forgive you
Sector 4 starts a difficulty spike as you enter mid-game, you won't be able to just get by on stats and need to use your special actions you've been upgrading to help get through the fights, Sector 7 is another difficulty spike when you enter late game, along with Sector 9 as the final sector, and then 10+ for endgame. Like a lot of rougelites, you kinda gotta die a couple of times on the run to figure out what strategies work as part of the experience, but thanks again for playing! :)
There’s quite a lot of text right at the beginning of the game – it’s great that everything is explained, but I think the amount of information should be limited to the minimum. As for the gameplay itself, it doesn’t offer much of a challenge (everything seems to happen automatically). However, the execution of the project is excellent. Visually and audio-wise, everything is consistent, and I had a pleasant time playing :)
A few remarks: on the sector map, I wasn’t quite sure where I was at first (only near the end of the second sector did I notice the green outline – I think the color could be more visible or the indicator could pulse). Also, I didn’t know what I was clicking on in the sector map (movement in each direction was marked with a “2” – which wasn’t intuitive to me). The game itself has a lot of content, which at times felt a bit overwhelming.
Still, it’s clear that a huge amount of work went into this project, and the game stands on its own :) Congratulations!
Getting to the higher sector counts should present a challenge if you're not prepared and using your special actions thoughtfully! The first 4 sectors are designed to be a slow ramp up as the player gets to grips with everything.
I agree the sector selection outline could be a bit better, even making it as visible as it was now was a last minute addition so it was just a time constraint xD I'm really interested in how the control system displayed both directions as to press "2" for you though, it should be automatically changing the button prompts to match your input device, showing a "1" or "2" for keyboard, "Y" or "B" for Xbox controllers, and "Triangle" or "Circle" for PlayStation controllers. Are you using a unique input device by any chance?
Thanks for playing and the kind words! ^^
Aaaaaaa hahahahahaha
Really cute game. I wish the art was a bit more cohesive but I get how it goes when you are using asset packs. Nice work on the mechanics, and the overall silliness was great. Excellent job!
Thanks a lot for playing!
I am Bun Bun. My powers are limitless. In all the universe there is nothing I cannot do.
YESSSSSSSSSS :D Thanks for playing!
Good work!
Thanks! :)
Wow, the concept and execution are superb, However, that art hurts my eyes, the non-pixel perfect art with even vector art mixed in really sets the game back. Amazing and fun mechanics and progression system, great concept, fun gameloop, hell you even have the polish!, but extremely inconsistent art. Still one of my faves, great job!
The curse of not being very good at art, and not working with an artist and needing to make a range of assets work together as good as I could xD Thanks a lot for playing and the kind words / feedback! :)
Really cool game. Good job :)
Thank you! ^^
