Nice game but a lot of bugs - I managed to sprint / run over the ramp and couldn't get back to the ammo stand. Then ended up falling out of the map, nice entry overall

This is so much fun, it's all out carnage! The ammo box upgrades and the waves of enemies made for a lot of fun. It could be a bit harder, cos I felt like I could keep going indefinitely. Great job on your game!
Good game!! It reminds me of the games I played on my teen's years! I had to stop myself for playing it because I want to play more submissions, but I will return to it later.
I downloaded it because I couldn't play it on browser. The only think I couldn't do is upgrade the equipment because I didn't know how. I don't have a lot of time now, but I will play it again this afternoon. Congratulations!! A very fun game to play!
Cool, glad you liked it!
Were you on Fire Fox? Fire Fox dosen't like Unity :)
To upgrade, you have to wait till you finish a wave and the Stand door opens (you'll hear an alert after you kill the last alien). Then you can point to one of the two upgrades and buy it if you have enough money...
Have fun with the other games!
This game will give me nightmares!!! which means is well done XD ...it accomplishes the goal, assuming that the goal is to make you feel anxious about the cockroaches-looking aliens taking over!!!. I tried MANY times but I couldn't make it to the board. I also loved the art on the posters!!! I'll play it again, it is really fun and I want to get to the board!
I only missed having a bar or some visual cue that would tell you when you are close to "die". If there is one, I missed it, so it is not very obvious. Then again, I am not a usual player of the genre.
Ha ha! One of the guys said it might be to scarry and the kids might not come back. I said that if they come back, we didn't make it scarry enough! 😂 I was kidding of course. We actually had to make it a bit brighter because it was Really hard to see the aliens!
Yah, I like our artist's work as well.
I'm glad you liked it! And yah, the Stand health bar is actually on the stand itself. We were going to move it to your HUD but that got lost on the cutting floor!
Good luck getting on the Board, you can do it! 😀
This game is like if old school Doom or Quake met Left 4 Dead. I LOVE that bullets can ricochet off of the ground and walls just like a real bullet would. I'm willing to forgive the lack of a reload animation and same-y enemy type for the simple fact that the game tells you the important details without holding your hand and remains very simple to understand. I live by the philosophy that you have to SHOW the player how to play your game, not tell them, in the design of my own games, and it's really wonderful to see that here too. The level is immersive, the UI design while it seems to clash a bit with the main gameplay loop is still very impressive in its design. Nothing is immediately obvious, you have to interact to discover what the menu can do and I love that. It's unique and frankly more games should have a UI like that. The implementation of a live leaderboard makes me want to come back to this game until I hit #1!!! 10/10
Good foundation for a game. Once I realized these monsters aren't after me, they're only focused on the weapons stand, the urgency kind of disappeared. It was kind of odd to be able to see the arc of the bullets and to shoot the whole automatic clip without any recoil. Just recoil would add a lot to the game.
The monsters are terrible (in a skillful way) looking and the scene itself was put together with a great thematic purpose.
Great work!
Very nice game, I had a ton of fun and actually did pretty ok. A little more variation in aliens would have been nice. Reloading was a little slow to keep enemies away. Maybe it would have been nice to let the player know when the next wave begins. All in all great game!
Super fun game! It felt super satisfying to spray these hordes of alien cockroaches hehe. Gave me a DOOM feeling.
For improvement I would say the movement mechanic is really quirky, I'm not sure if it's on purpose but it's possible to use the ramp and jump to the alien spawn and then struggle to get back.
Also a reload animation would have been great, and maybe I didn't get there but are there other weapons except the m16?
And lastly I think a bit more challenge from the starting waves would have been a good addition.
Very Cool! I really liked the pacing. The difficulty increases with each wave is really well done.
Being a gunmower is satisfying! haha mowed so many my browser crashed the game with to much memory being used hahahaha. My feedback points are mostly being very critical - The buttons to play/settings weren't obvious to me in game, so I feel tweaking them to help with that - the idea is cool though. the update button on the main page Im not sure what it does, but you can just keep pressing it and it keeps appending. Ammo never mattered for me, so this is probably difficulty scaling or something to tweak (game jam time only allows so much). I was using bullets the whole time but ended with 25k bullets for example. Something that I think wouldve been simple to add depth is randomly making an alien red, and doubling their hp and damage so they are like a mini boss, or changing their move speed so some are randomly faster to give variability and intensity which i feel overtime diminished a lot. And an easy tweaked polish note is you can see the spawn point on the left side, if you just block it slightly it would give a little polish feel for very little effort. What is great about what you have done though, is you can easily expand it - new monsters, weapons, coop mode(?) etc. Awesome job! :D
Thank you for a thorough review, do you play on a wide screen? I noticed that the main menu buttons gets unaligned when when I connected to mine.
We had most of what you said as things to implement, different speeds and health on mobs. Mini bosses where nothing we discussed but it's a really good idea! Lack of time made the game unbalanced.
Thanks for playing and good luck with your own submission that I will go try out as soon as I have the time!
Pure shooter fun - loved the fire rate of the gun - very satisfying. Could look at adding an aim down sight (RMB) just so you can get the shots off on the aliens at a distance. UI is great. Well done!
Wow, I'm really enjoying playing it!
While the graphics style isn't my favourite, the gameplay is so well done that it makes me forget about it.
Well done!
Had fun playing your game, it's a solid start to a wave defender game. Did manage to get over the wall of roadblockers and couldn't get back to the base anymore. Enemies walk through the roadblockers, is that intended?
