I made the Graphics Engine of a PS1 game way back and I used a bucket system with a view cone.

I divided the world into a grid of buckets and put all tries into it's closest bucket and then drew all buckets within the View Cone

With this system, we could have had huge worlds if memory and time had permited.

Hahaha, thanks!

Yah, I was pretty determined to win the game, and I would have kept going if there weren't more games to play 😊

It was an interesting game mechanic, but it was just a little too tough for me to control from the different views. Also, it was a nice conflict want to keep the camera to see and get rid of to not be seen, very interesting...

Very good PS1 look! I keep saying, "OK, one more time" I finally had to be firm with myself and quit and go on to other games without having completed it, but I will likely be back to win the game. Nice Play balance

Hey Paupertony, Would you like me to Playtest your game on Twitch?

Ping me on the Discord channel if you can

Love the graphics style, kind of Retro.
Had some difficulties with the controls, trolling or bug, whose to say.
At one point the platform I was supposed to jump on dropped and never came back - deffinetely a good canidate for trolling :)
The evasive Menu trolling is hilarious!

Nice work IncrediBro!

Last second raating!

Fun art style, like the mechanics

and sound is interesting/funny?

Good job guys!

Your game looks like it may have potential but I ran into some serious issues.

The first was collision. Once surrounded, there is no way to escape and you just have to wait to die. I even got pinned by 1 enemy once. Also I spent most of my time just trying not to get traped that I didn't have time to look for my dropoff

The next was controls. It's really hard to stear.

I hope this isn't too negative, I just wanted to give you honest and constructive feedback...

But it does have a fun look and love how the letters are at different angles the menu screen! That's a very nice artistic touch!

I can't figure out who the survivors are?

This is so hilarious

This is so hilarious!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Cool, Thanks!

It does start out easy, but it does start getting Deadly around wave 6 or 7.
Try again and see if you can Get #1 on the Leader Board!

Love the Voxel graphics! Is it a Shader?

Ah, Ok 😊

It's there. It the last question on this page: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2024

Q: Can I edit my game once I submit?

You can fix game breaking bugs in your submission and upload those. If your game is unpleasant or unplayable due to technical issues, we want you to fix those! You just cant add new features or gameplay. or things like that.

You had me worried, I thought I paraphrased. 😊

I usually try to quote.

Ok, now that I get the hang of it I had more fun...

Good job guys!

I wouldn't mind if it had more waves so I could use my cross bow longer but still fun

Fun physics game... albiet a bit sensitive on keyboard...

Thought provoking game :)

I like that you give "an answer"

Ha ha!

Cool, glad you liked it!
Were you on Fire Fox? Fire Fox dosen't like Unity :)

To upgrade, you have to wait till you finish a wave and the Stand door opens (you'll hear an alert after you kill the last alien). Then you can point to one of the two upgrades and buy it if you have enough money...

Have fun with the other games!

Ha ha! One of the guys said it might be to scarry and the kids might not come back. I said that if they come back, we didn't make it scarry enough! 😂 I was kidding of course. We actually had to make it a bit brighter because it was Really hard to see the aliens!

Yah, I like our artist's work as well.

I'm glad you liked it! And yah, the Stand health bar is actually on the stand itself. We were going to move it to your HUD but that got lost on the cutting floor!

Good luck getting on the Board, you can do it! 😀

Ah

Cool!

Oh yah! Definetely mixed signals.

But this is on th Jam page:

The part about the game being "unpleasant or unplayable" was my best guide. And also, "You just cant add new features or gameplay. or things like that." is pretty clear.

I tried to get clarification on certain issues we had with really bad balance in our game because it just got boring if you made it past the 4 wave because it didn't get any more difficult. Never heard back so we made the judgement call to go ahead with the fix.

Wow, That's a tough game!

Where are the lasers!?

A ha!

Beautiful, Great job!

Reminds me Arkanoid

I understand, I'm pretty tired myself... Just trying to get through the next couple of days playing games...

Need any help debugging? I've worked with Unity off and on for 5 years

Hey guys, you have amazing art, cinematics, graphics, animations, sound, and music! And the mechanics as I understand them (couldn't play of course) sound really cool!

I hope you can get it up in running. You still have about a day and a half...

I rated you guys high on everything (lowest ones were 4 stars) anyhow because if you guys did this good with what you have I can only imagine what the finished game would be like.

Steam I assume?

Great Job!

Did you know that you are aloud to fix bugs?

Fun game. Good mechanics.

I did want to have the close ones go after you... But, oh well..

I love how you have to visually identify the virus with zero hand holding! Great mechanic.
I now have a new appreciation for what my anti-virus goes through 😁
