3 alarms triggers in 300 seconds but we got the safe!Very well done, I really liked the level design. I am a big sucker for hidden paths and vertical maps.
Very good PS1 look! I keep saying, "OK, one more time" I finally had to be firm with myself and quit and go on to other games without having completed it, but I will likely be back to win the game. Nice Play balance
David, your persistence is legendary! Thanks for the stream, it was really interesting!
Hahaha, thanks!
Yah, I was pretty determined to win the game, and I would have kept going if there weren't more games to play 😊
Your game is incredibly fun! I was hooked from the first few seconds
Thanks for the feedback!
Great atmosphere and visuals! I really love the snow particles combined with the fog—it looks amazing! I’d make it a bit less difficult and speed up the stealth bar recovery time. Also, I had some issues playing in Chrome—trying to move while crouching with Ctrl+W kept closing the tab, haha
Shit, I didn’t know about this problem! That’s why I’m not a big fan of web games: something’s always wrong. Thanks for the feedback!
Actually, I used fog and large containers to hide the work of my custom LOD system, which removes all distant objects. I relied on this approach because it matched the challenges developers faced at the time. And it really provides a huge performance boost, although I doubt anyone will notice
I made the Graphics Engine of a PS1 game way back and I used a bucket system with a view cone.
I divided the world into a grid of buckets and put all tries into it's closest bucket and then drew all buckets within the View Cone
With this system, we could have had huge worlds if memory and time had permited.
only watched the gameplay since I am not good at stealth games, but it looks very fun and challenging, especially with the amount of police.
it also looks very good in the style of the PS1. you done a very good job here.
Thanks! I chose to make a stealth game because I feel like there were more stealth-oriented games back then. Honestly, even though there’s a lot of police, the bots aren’t exactly smart or observant, so they’re more about creating a sense of threat than actually being one
When I first initially played it, it was kind of hard getting around. But then I started speedrunning it, and got a 56.54 and found it pretty fun. For new players though, I would guide the player more. The controls was kind of buggy too, as I got stuck on many objects if I held the same direction as the object. Strafing is also faster, you should probably fix this too unless it was intended. The AI is also pretty dumb, but I can see how this would be intended. Well done! GYAHH
56.54 is REALLY fast, I’ve never managed to get a result like that myself lol. Awesome run!
Thanks for the feedback! There are indeed some exploits in the game, and the NPCs can only see within a limited range. This could actually be part of different difficulty settings if it were a full-fledged game
Cut my time by 7 seconds with a better route, here is a 49.16 GYAHHH
That's amazing! I only managed to get around 80 seconds myself. I also use diagonal walking to speed up
