Great execution across the board! The sound and graphical design was immersive; the gameplay was straightforward and accessible. I appreciate having some dialogue at the start to set the stage.

Some things that could improve this game:

1. The opening text was scrolling a bit too fast for me to read everything on the first play through. Having the text scroll a bit slower while still maintaining the ability to speed up or skip the intro would be helpful.

2. On my wide screen monitor, the game would not maintain a resolution that fits on screen when playing the game in fullscreen. I imagine the game is scaling based only on width, but this would cause the top and bottom portions of the game window to be off-screen in my case. Having the view scale to the largest width/height that fits in screen would be ideal.

3. I find the NPC T-poses and their reactions/spinning out in response to shots very amusing, but having animations for the NPC's would improve the feel of the game, especially for giving more of an indicator of whether the enemies are attacking me.

I'm sorry that the game didn't scale well on your monitor. I don't really know why, as my monitors are also widescreen.

For the NPC's animations, we had some complications during developement, and due to time reasons couldn't implement them in time.

Thanks for the feedback, and for playing our game though!

The don is dead! I love the pistol model. Reminds me of metal gear. The ambient sounds were nice and I liked how the outfits on the people changed in different runs.

A small touch I added, which I wouldn't know if people noticed. Thanks for playing!

Good game! Of course, you can't get everything done in such a short time, but the game's setting and visuals aren't bad. I got through it about 5 times, just standing on the stairs and shooting away

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

The idea of mixing 2d dialogue sections with the 3d gameplay was really nice imo! Also i lowkey love officer lowkey ;-] the different sprites for him were really charming

Thank you, you should thank Jay on our team, he did everything related to the cutscenes ;)

The music and camera effects really set the noir atmosphere! But I can’t unsee that gun animation, haha

Haha, the T posing mafia coming at me then flying away stiff as a board when I shot them was funny! I can see the potential here for sure! More levels, a fleshed out story, animations, I can see it being more! Nice work

More levels, and animations was planned, but we had some complications during development, and landed on this. Glad you at least enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

we did actually planned it, but with the time we had, it was out of scope.

but happy that you enjoyed the game.

That T-pose ragdoll just drove me crazy :D I think you went a little overboard with the post-processing, but I REALLY loved the atmosphere — it feels like a game based on a cheesy 80s B-movie.

Also, I found a way to exploit the bots: just stand in a narrow passage, and they won’t shoot until they get really close. You can take out the whole crowd like a camper.

Awesome!

I didn't make the AI that smart, and they have to get in a certain radius before attacking you, so it is intended! Thanks for playing!

Great entry, I loved the atmosphere and the style that game has but encountered few issues regarding the colliders not working in that interior and enemy animations not even loading (if there were animations it was a pretty short time to make a polished game), on the other hand I loved officer Lowkey and how I didn't know was he a good guy till the end or he just sent me there to die, keep it up and wish you all the best!

Developer

Sorry that there weren't any animations, but we had some complications during the jam. Glad you enjoyed it, and wish you all the best too!

No problem at all and no need to be sorry, you made a great game anyways, best of luck with the jam ratings!

Developer(+1)

You too, enjoyed yours.

The gameplay of an FPS in a maze and the creepy aesthetic--music/sound FX--made me think of a great FPS game on 3DO, Escape From Monster Manor and the checkerboard floors in games were totally 90s!

Thank you for playing!

The game resolution did not match the rules but other than that it's a pretty good game

Developer

The game resolution did in fact match the rules, as it is 510x270

oh right forgot about the fact that it was a limit and not a set resolution but It could have been a more authentic aspect ratio i'll fix my rating though
