I liked the game, the visuals are gorgeous, no bugs, tons of detail to the little things. Like the jiggling of objects in the hand, and a slight haze in the black bars. At first for a long time did not want to open the door in the morning, but after a minute still opened. Even freaked out when the day changed abruptly, the idea with that transition is very cool. As for the story, I didn't quite understand it as I am not a native English speaker. Is Reverend a ghost originally or did he just not survive that day? Are there more than two endings? And as I think there are traces of Silent Hill inspiration, banally the same pictures of the note all over the screen. Just wondering if that's the case?

Thanks for playing and thanks for your compliments, it really means a lot! I'm not native at English too so some stuff might sound wrong and sorry for that, story is a bit scrapped since I didn't manage my time properly and had few hours to make something, Reverend ended up being abducted or something by a demon and he turned crazy, that's the premise, I was inspired by many older horror games while making this one and I can't really pinpoint at one specific game that inspired that note inspection screen, it's more of combined style of the games from that era, thanks for compliments and wish you all the best!

I love the aesthetic you chose for your game, reminds me a lot of the animation backwater gospel! The presentation is top noch, i love the inclusion of little details like unique names on all the graves, makes the world feel alive (ironically) and the fact that there are "alternative endings" is so cool as well. Incredible game especially considering the short time frame!

Thank you very much for the kind words and compliments! Wish you ll the best!

You have seriously made the most beautiful game for this jam. I did not even know that it was possible for a game to look so good with such a low res. You took the graphics to a new level.  Amazing!

Developer(+1)

oh, thank you so much for the compliments it really really means a lot, thank you!

The style? On point. The gameplay? Kind of repetitive, but what can you do else to drive the story forwards. The story? Exists, and well done. I don't have much to say about this, except that key items, like the shovel and bags could maybe get a highlight to guide the player, so they spend less time searching for them, and more time consuming the game. Great job!

Thanks, I'm aware of the issues that game has and am sorry you had to struggle with them, I tried my best to make as enjoyable as possible experience in short time that I had, thanks for the compliments, wish you all the best!

This is the kind of game that deserves to be expanded into a full release. So much potential!

Zed's dead baby. Zed's dead

Haha, glad you caught that!

This was pretty cool! I feel like there are some sound effect changes I would have done (particularly the balancing, the sounds were VERY loud) and I might have looked over the script and tried to make it more similar to what a Reverend might say. I'd maybe take a look at different fonts as well. There are some physics/collision issues that I was able to wriggle out of so nothing game breaking! I really loved the atmosphere though, you absolutely nailed the ps1 feel.

Developer(+1)

thank you for the compliments and feeback, I'm aware of the sound issue as one other user pointed it out too and I am more than willing to fix it as soon as soon as jam ends and I'm able to modify the game, collision issues are there because of the time limitations so I didn't really have enough time to think of and fix all the possible problems players might encounter, all that said, thank you once again for playing my game and I'm glad it was somewhat enjoyable experience!

Good atmosphere and very good visuals but the ending is too fast, you cannot understand what  happened.

Developer

Well, it was for a jam after all and I had very short time to make the whole thing and I spent way too much managing the details and atmosphere and scrapped some evil demon thing for the end, I really appreciate your compliments and hope it was somewhat enjoyable experience! Thanks for commenting

No problem bro, you made huge steps ahead since your first game! In the future, your games will be pretty good; I'm sure of it

Loved the visuals and atmosphere, super well done! The ending felt kinda rushed though, also I didn’t realize I had to read the book at first - was trying to grab the shovel to slay the guy down, haha

Developer

haha, whole thing was pretty rushed since i didn't manage my time properly, one thing I really wanted to add is "secret ending", one if you kill the guy with the shovel, probably will do after jam finishes and I can modify the thing, thanks for compliments!

i love it, reminds me of a fears to fathom game. maybe a volume slider would be a good idea though as it was a little loud

Developer

thanks for the compliments and the feedback, I was a bit short on the time so I didn't include some stuff that would help (mainly sensitivity and volume slider)
