Managed to defeat both bosses. Very interesting concept and good execution. I had fun.

Great quality game, has a very polished feel to it.  Enjoyed my play through.

Nice game, I like that you can take control of enemies if you kill them in the right way, I like the boss battles as well. I struggled more than I needed to because I didn't realize the tank was there until later. Great game overall, it has looks good, the music matches it :)

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate that! The boss fight with the tank was the second one, right? So I appreciate that you got all the way to the end! It was a blast to make, and I'm really happy to see people enjoying playing it! Thanks again!

While similar concepts have been done, I enjoyed the way you did it. I also appreciated the style of gameplay and execution of it. This would feel right at home on a Sega Genesis, and that's a compliment from me. Personally, though, I think the tank could be cut entirely, and the fourth level (the one after the boss) is far too long to the point where I got near the end and a jump input was missed, leading to my death and had to start over. But the fact there was a boss at all, and it was fairly well-designed, was impressive to begin with. Nicely done.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! Yeah, it was hard for me to judge whether the levels would feel too long or too short. I didn't have very much time to play test.

The player artwork is amazing, I love the style! Excellent work!

Developer

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!

Submitted

I loved the artwork! Did you do it by yourself? Sorry if I didn't read :D

Developer

Thank you! No worries! Yup, I did the art and the music myself. I always do for jams, it makes it more fun for me that way.

Congrats on completing the jam! I liked being a robot head! I thought it was very cool to be able to take over any enemy as long as you took out it's control unit. I had a bit of trouble with aiming  but I got used to it after a bit.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback!

Definitely fun game!

It was a pleasant surprise when I managed to join a body. At first I thought they were enemies too. I really liked the artwork, it looked neat!

I would have only changed that when you are inside a body or in the tank you could aim freely or at least 180º in the direction you are looking, instead of having to look up. Maybe also that the tank couldn't jump.

The bosses were cool and a nice touch! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, ideally, I would design it purely for the gamepad and just do aiming with the second analog stick, but it was hard trying to make something balanced that was playable with the mouse and keyboard, and with the gamepad.

I didn't know what to expect judging from the page description of the game but I was pleasantly surprised! It's so fun that you can actually take over the enemy bodies. I like that you must hit them at the exact spot to avoid destroying their body and thus be able to posses them. I also like that you die in one hit without a body. Becoming a tank was so badass, but it was slow and hard to kill anything with unless they were right in front of me. It was near the end of the 2nd level where I realized I could aim up or down, my fault for not reading instructions properly xD The music was very fitting and set the mood, the art was really good and I like the visual clarity. The boss fight was excellent both times and the controls were fine, it really felt like I was a disembodied head on a skateboard. Overall very polished game. There are so many platformers on this jam but this one was unique and had fresh mechanics. Also this reminded me of flash era games like alien hominid. Love this game! :)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing through all of it and for all your amazing notes and feedback! I really appreciate it! Really feels rewarding reading stuff like this.

Love everything about this game. Really hit the dystopian robot feels.

Developer

Thank you so much!!

Did you create all the graphics for the jam? Very impressive. A great game.

Developer(+1)

Yup! I always like to create original art and music during game jams, it's part of the fun for me. Thanks so much!

Love a good platform shooter.  Loved being a tank!  Only feedback is on the longer levels dont make me restart all the way back at the beginning.

Developer

Yeah, I tried to keep the levels from being too long for that reason, but obviously didn't really have a chance to thoroughly test and balance the level design given the time restrictions. Thanks for playing!

I want to jack the flying ship

Developer

You can, but it's made to be tough, since you have to destroy the head from above. But if you wanna try again, in level 2, there's a secret vacant drone that you could latch onto if you climb that first tall building and then jump off of it to the left. ;)

Fun game. Thanks for creating it. After I understood that you can take over the bodies it was much more fun ;-)

Very impressive for 10 days. I love the hacking bodies mechanic. The first boss fight was cool. Not sure how much more content there was but I stopped after dying a few times on the level where you start with a tank.

Awesome game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! After the boss, there are two more levels and then the same boss fight but a bit harder and with a different level layout, but I think you got the core of the experience.

Fun game!

Very nice sprites and general game vibe.

It was kind of easy to just shoot every enemy from afar before they noticed me and could counter attack. Sadly I couldn't fight the boss because my mouse was not bound to the game screen and I somehow ended up clicking away from the game page when trying to shoot.

Good game!

Developer

Yeah, balancing is hard. I've had comments that it's too hard, and some other people who've been able to breeze through it. That's game design for ya!

i love the controls and the feel of the game. i love that retro background!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Nice work! I liked how many options of enemies you could jack into. Lots of fun taking out those bots. Cool art for the boss too.

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate it! Yeah, I wanted to include at least a couple of different ways to play, just to explore having differing control schemes in a single game.

Very Cool looking and amazing game.

Some very cool ideas here, I got old Amiga vibes from it.

Developer

Thanks so much! Interesting! I haven't played much of Amiga, but I'd be curious if any particular game comes to mind? I guess stuff like Turrican and Walker?

Submitted

I'll have to get back to you on that, about to go to work, its just the first thing that came to mind :)
