In what way does your game fit the theme?
Welcome in RE-WIND,

In this game you will be in charge of a RE-WIND Corp's Paper Plane equipped with a prodigious ability of rewinding the wind.
If the wind lifts you forward through the levels, times will come where you will need to use your re-wind power and pray for the wind to lift you back. Indeed, as a paper plane even the smallest collision with the smallest cloud will be fatal !

Prepare yourself to prove that you are the best pilot of RE-WIND Corp's and complete all the "always more challenging" levels.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, everything was made from scratch all through the week: Assets, code, music and level design.

Yo’ Templar here,
The mechanic is interesting but needs a little bit of polish, somethings to note would be:

  • You can activate the rewind while there’s text dialog on the screen.
  • There’s no clear indication when your rewind is available or not.
  • The clouds being in pixel art while the plane is in vector makes it feel “out of place” Overall, can be fun with a little more work to it.

Pretty fun game! I wish there was some clear indication of whether your rewind is charged or not, but if you fixed that, you could make a pretty cool mobile game out of this!

Cool little game you got there! Great job :)

Great job! with a little bit more polish this could be a really fun mobile game!

Great game! I love the art and the "paper plane university" theme. Good job!

Really fun game, It plays smooth as well and is kind of hard
Good Work though

Cool game! It was really fun to play, but the sky levels are too hard. Maybe you can make the colliders for the clouds a little smaller than the clouds themselves to make it feel more fair. Anyways all in all great game, keep it up!

Interesting main mechanic and the levels are definitely built around it rather well to teach the player their abilities! Could do with some sound effects though.

Great mechanic! The only problem that i see is the player hitbox, sometimes and maybe the speed, but later the game becomes harder, so the speed is nice

Loved the concept, I had this sort of idea at the start too but moved onto something else. I'm so glad to see that someone did it, and did it well! Only think I would suggest would be maybe to add an option to speed up in some parts since some stretches were long and got a little boring just waiting for the plane to move. Overall awesome game!

Cool game! I loved the use of the pinwheels.

be sure to check out my game! :)

I was drawn to this submission because the concept seemed pretty familiar lol. Great minds I guess. As for the game itself the mechanic is fun to play around with. My only criticism is I would like to see a way for the player to use the ability more creatively. Possible multiple paths in order to avoid linear gameplay? Great game regardless.

Interesting take on the theme. I like the simplicity of the mechanic, it was fun to play.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun on this project! The idea is cool and makes you want to never stop!

(P.S: The music is really cool)

The wind just stopped showing in the tutorial at some point might wanna look at that if you're gonna update it after the jam i would really love a keybind for the continue in the text boxes maybe make the player's death collisions more forgiving otherwise really cool

Developer

That strange the particule system should be looping, I'll check that.
That's a good idea I'll work on the keybind if I update it :)

Really good effort! Certainly for your first full game. Level design is solid. Thought it was a really relaxing game, but then it gets really hard in the storm level (with the two clouds followed by the other small cloud).. I would maybe have liked a checkpoint after getting past the third cloud before you had to go round the corner as I got stuck there, but overall really nice game! Check out my game if you get a chance. Cheers!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback mate ! I'm quite happy about this level design.
I created an advice notice to explain how to pass the difficult parts of each level, you should check it out ! :D

I'll definitely check your game :)

Good job on the art and the audio; for a solo project, this is pretty good looking/sounding given you only had a week. I think there should be more options involving the rewind and the powerups, though.

Thanks for your feedback ! I appreciate !
I actually wanted to focus more on level design than on adding plenty of mechanics.  But I will definitely consider it, if I decide to update it after the jam.

No problem! Good focus is better than feature creep for sure. If you've got time, please check out our game and give it a rating as well!

Developer

Sure :)

Great Game! Really love the cute music and cool mechanic. However, the hitboxes could be further refined and maybe add more effects for rewinding/ picking up the green powerups?

Cute take on the theme. Though physics-wise, im not sure it made sense for the paper airplanes to fly backwards ;)
