Very cool idea and pretty well executed. Great job for two days too! Well done

How does the game fit the theme?
You have to enter further into the level to get more resources and get closer to the finish point but harder enemies spawn and to not lose in the process you have to retreat and buy upgrades. The deeper you go the harder it is to get back!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

One of the most innovative gameplay I've seen so far.
Initially I was a bit confused but then it clicked, and felt natural. I enjoy the strong simple mechanic and a sprint cooldown as the attack and the brilliant idea of going in and out while keeping a timer on it. Well done!
Awesome mechanic! A bit hard to control but I gotta admit it's truely unique. Congrats!
I love that you actually have to risk it if you want to beat the game. After another death around the 7th level, I once again faced a choice to either return to an empty store with my one-and-a-half million (in spidar coins equivalent) or risk it and go for the finish - and it worked out.
This game is truly a spectacle. The spiral level effect is just so cool and visually appealing. Well done! The whole aesthetic feels very nice and stands out a lot. The gameplay is super simple to learn and start playing, yet it's quite difficult to master. It's super fun as well! The powerups felt effective and game changing, not just any good old number goes up type of powerups. Though, garlic is very overpowered and it carries once unlocked, but I digress. The risk-taking of going further down vs safely making back is such a nice implementation of the theme, and it works well for the game.
Some minor nitpick is that the enemies would sometimes spawn directly on you (looking at you bees). The visual design of the coins vs bee bullets is super confusing, I am still mistaken a coin for a bullet after playing through most of the game. Also, the spinning animation although looks great, creates that disjoint that requires the player at least half a second to process where and what is happening, and it's easy to get hit right after the spin.
Anyway, this is a really solid entry! Well done on making the game!
really digged the visuals, and how you incorporated the infinite level depth, really cool! My only nitpick is that its super jarring when switching "depths" and i would take damage.
Definitely a unique experience and great in both innovation and execution! It's a challenge while also feeling fair and I had fun playing it! Well done!
Such an innovative concept!! I absolutely love the stylization of the art, was this made 3D or 2D? Amazing work :D
It’s 2D but we do procedural animation! Everything is renderer either with the draw_line() function or the draw_circle() one in Godot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Gjhr1IP6w Here is a video on the basic principles of a Spider procedural animation, ours is 2D but that only made it easier lol
Pretty fun concept and execution! The transition between levels of web can be a bit disorienting. Though I appreciate the moment of invulnerability afterward. I also noticed a handful of times when I dashed through a bug but it hurt me anyway. I love the simplicity of the controls (though the dash could be more immediate and I don't love how the bite makes you stop) and I like the upgrades. Can definitely see this being expanded and having many more upgrades and maybe even expanding your safe area, etc. Very cool overall!
I spent way longer playing this than I expected ^_^ very addictive once I understood about the upgrades, and the intention wasn't to go all the way to the end in just one go. Love the visuals, the way things get smaller in the centre, suggesting we are spiralling downwards. Brilliant work!
This is a fun and unique game. I like the visuals a lot. The gameplay was very unique but it’s a bit annoying when enemy suddenly spawn on you.
This was really unique! The linear path is an interesting concept and the way you progress down the spiral reminds me of some older arcade games. The transition between levels was a bit confusing and caused me to get hit but I was able to work around it by being careful about when I progressed towards the center. The visuals were really nice and reminded me of old vector monitors!
Fun game!
I was feeling a bit under powered for a bit in the beginning, but then garlic mode hit and everything started to pop off. At that point, it felt pretty good to cruise through on alternating dash + super dash while fumigating the other buggies on neighboring threads.
PS: That's the slimmest submission time I've seen yet! I pushed up to about 7 minutes and even then I was pondering how viscerally I would have to scream if I didn't get the damn build accepted in time. Glad you were able to make it!
You're the first person that had this audio problem! Please can you check your tab is unmuted and the volumen intensity of your browser on your OS audio settings? If the problem is not on your end please send us what browser you are using and your OS so we can fix it.
Really glad you enjoyed it! Thank you :)
