How does the game fit the theme?
Every jump has a high mortal cost, and it is uncertain whether it will work, or how much is enough. In the end, it is a leap of faith. To progress, the player must Risk It for The Biscuit.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Tools
Made using the Adventure Creator Toolkit for Unity. I wanted to do this project just so I could learn how to use it. :)

3D Assets
Zerin Labs Low Poly Pack SciFi (I assembled the scene using these assets, took screenshots for the backgrounds and modified the with Gimp.) 2D artwork, animations and VFX are my own.

Sound & Music are credited on the game's page.

Awesome stuff! I really enjoyed, haven't got all the endings yet but I will for sure! Genuinely got jump scared. Amazing it was made by only one person! Seriously awesome stuff. The utilization of the sidebars is amazing.

Submitted

Wow, this is so cool. Got all endings, but never saw that one sequence from the 2nd screenshot.

Developer

Oh no. Sorry about the missing cutscene. Do you mind telling me what browser and OS you were using? The video should have come up for the Omega Ending, but I saw for one person using Firefox it didn't play. Think it's a quirk of HTML5 video.

This is what you should have got for OMEGA

Thanks!

Yes, I was also on Firefox.

Interesting little game, I really enjoyed the narration and atmosphere you implemented here. I'll definitely come back later to try and find all of the endings.

Keep up the good work!

Really sick page styling, i audibly said "oh thats so cool" when looking out the windows and it looked like it bled into the page, so far the only point and click horror game ive seen for the jam, super unique! lovely game

Ommmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeegggggggggggggaaaaaaaaaaaa

Cool page styling

Stunning game for a game jam. Let alone being made by one person. Love the atmosphere. The story was great. 10/10 no notes.

Oh wow! This is incredible work. Can't believe this was made by just one person. The in-browser interactions are super creative and it serves the narrative really well (the jump scare eyes successfully scared me). Fascinating animations and stories. Perfect game experience for me. Bravo!

Developer

Thank you ^_^ Loved your game too!

Behind the scenes of the cinematic in Blood Engine. With more time, I may make cinematics for each of the "true" endings :)

It's amazing that you managed to create a complete story with characters for the jam! It turned out really cool and atmospheric - I'd love to play your other games

Developer

Thank you! It was certainly a challenge!

Submitted(+1)

Massive kudos - this is an incredibly impressive achievement for a solo developer!

I managed to unlock what I consider the most important endings: Selfless and OMEGA!

The music and visuals worked beautifully together to build a tense, immersive atmosphere that fits the horror theme perfectly.

And that black hole VFX? Absolutely stunning.

Well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing on stream and getting the OMEGA ending ^_^ I have a lot of fun with VFX so I had to squeeze in something spectacular haha

This is insane! The fact this was made by one person is blowing my mind! Amazing atmosphere and narrative!

Developer

Thank you ^_^ A team would definitely have helped hahaha

Such a cool game! I actually got jumpscared when I touched something. Amazing how you built such a good atmosphere in so little time; It would be cool to see this game expanded in some way!

Developer

Thank you! I wanted to go easy on the jump scares since the game is more about cosmic or existential horror, but I did allow myself one to make use of the negative space :D I'd love to expand the game further. I have a lot of ideas for it.

I enjoy the experience despite not being my genre at all.
That's why I'm not the right player to answer the "feeback questions" you write on the game page (anyway I love your page there is a lot of effort in it)

What I can suggest right now is to give personality to the UI (texts, boxes, buttons etc...). It has a very important role because it's something necessary. but at the same time it could ruin the immersiveness (especially in a horror game)

I notify a bug: I opened a note and then I wasn't  to close it. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I closed and reopened the note quickly.

Anyway well done and good luck for the future updates!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Very useful. Urg, yh you're right about the bug. It looks like it locks up if the jounal is clicked while it is closing. Thanks for finding it. I'll get it polished out after the jam!

Fantastic stuff, pleasantly surprised the 'selfless ending' was an option. Love the artwork

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the option not to siphon your friends ^_^ If I were to expand the game further, the Selfless Ending would be another narrative branch. Either the player's character would switch to Mercia, or the player is severely weakened from giving so much blood. The Omega Ending is the only true ending so far.

Submitted

Really immersive game! It's a hopeless situation in which you can take  cruel decisions. First time I have sacrificed myself, second time I made the other decision and achieved Omega Ending, cool there's even dub in that ending. Congrats for your game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and reaching the true ending! OMEGA!

LOVE IT! bold choice to pick an horror game for this theme, I like the multiple endings/choices thingy and ESPECIALLY the screen border interactions, really makes the game more immersive.
My only complain is the line "Risk it for the biscuit", it kinda made me chuckle and ruined the engagement a bit, also (not so important) but i would like to see the character the siphon thingy slightly more aesthetically cohesive
Good job <3

Damn!!! Amazing job. Congratulations on making such a sorpresive game. Had a blast playing it.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

This is absolutely amazing! Fantastic job how the hell did you use the borders of the website in your game? very cool. The ideas of the game are also quite profound I love it.

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing ^_^ The border trick is a combination of using a very wide player, and some black magic on Itchio's css to make it look and behave like part of the page.

Submitted

Ah I see so you did incorporate some css I was wondering how you could have done that without using the pages css haha amazing job!

Submitted(+2)

The boundary breaking stuff is incredible. Coolest thing I've seen in the jam for sure.

Here's a video of me playing your game. Thanks for sharing!

Love where you were like "oh we can take Mercia, he doesn't have any family left... oh..." :D

Thanks for playing it on stream. Always interesting to see how people play it.

Great visuals, setting and use of the theme. Really put me on edge

Developer

Thank you! Loved yours as well!
