Blood Engine is a point and click cosmic horror adventure game about a ship that needs blood. Made for the Brackeys Game Jam.

WOW! Can't believe Blood Engine came 40th out of 2,300 entries in Brackeys Game Jam! Now that we're free to update our games again, this new version is now playable on mobile! (Don't even have to download it. Playable on mobile, in-browser, and on desktop).
I've also fixed all the bugs that were identified during the jam. I'd really like to expand on it after the jam; more branching narratives, more elaborate puzzles, etc. If you love/hate it please let me know! I'd really love to know:
- does it play as you would expect for a game of this format?
- is it let down by anything in particular?
- is there anything you enjoyed in particular?
- is this something you would be interested in playing?
- and is this worth continuing? ^_^
Many thanks in advance!

Wow. Bravo. I made it in the end. I love gim stories, and this could definitely be a theme for an 11 Bit game. That desperation and realism of This War Of Mine. The writing was great and I liked getting a feel for the place the protagonist lives from their interactions with the people in the other flats. I died many times trying to find my way. Wasn't sure where I was trying to get to. I read an earlier comment that gave me a clue so figured it out in the end. Very challenging. And very bold. Great work. Love seeing these kind of narratives and themes in games. Less of the glory and more of the grim reality of war.
Wow! I really got into the story. And there's so much game here with so many mechanics that all add complexity to it (which is good). I particularly liked having to grab the plank and place it again while I was in mid-air ^_^ Couldn't get past the little spider after the big spider, but really enjoyed what I played so far. Very impressive!
Very polished and addictive game! Don't know what level I got to but I found myself playing for ages haha. Got pretty good. Best strat I found was flipping cards systematically instead of at random. Makes it way easier to remember where a card you've seen before it. Loved the art. Loved the sound. Great work!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the option not to siphon your friends ^_^ If I were to expand the game further, the Selfless Ending would be another narrative branch. Either the player's character would switch to Mercia, or the player is severely weakened from giving so much blood. The Omega Ending is the only true ending so far.
That style is sick as hell. It's like some kind of demonic laser tag arena! Is the dungeon procedurally generated too? I found lots of treasure chests which opened but I don't know if I received anything. The intro page looked amazing as well with one of your amazing shiny enemies there waiting for you!
FANTASTIC! Didn't expect to have so much game here. Loved the premise. Loved the dialogue. The art is fantastic. You've got character customisation, a dating sim, dungeon crawler all in one week. I escaped with Cloud with 22 seconds to spare :o ooh I'd have been so mad to lose at that point haha. Brilliant game. Well done.
Wow absolutely gorgeous! I failed the first mission because I wasn't reading all the text in the cookbook, but succeeded on the later ones :D Love your aesthetic, and love synthwave. And an amazingly large game for just a week. Brilliant work!
Have you played Anno: Mutationem? Completely different gameplay but gave me similar vibes.
Loved your hand-drawn artwork, and the concept! I couldn't get past the last guy. Whenever I spoke to him the dialogue seemed to get stuck, and I couldn't do anything when I got home. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Let me know! Because I imagine we make different delicious cookies based on the ingredient choices we make, which is very cool ^_^
