How does the game fit the theme?
We didn't want to be on the nose with the "risk it for a biscuit" theme so we took a different approach. The risk vs reward in WOODLAND very much stems from gaining the courage, and risking the sanity to leave your tower and enable the relays, significantly speeding up your progress to the main goal.

If that wasn't enough, the main upload data is an acronym: B.I.S.C.U.I.T!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

WOWWW the atmosphere in this one is insane!! I cant really handle horror stuff, but i tried my best to push through it! When the lights turned off i was so scared! Great job on submitting such an amazing game!

This gave me retro horror firewatch vibes and I really like it. Well done!

I like the visuals a lot (:

Nice work!

Cool concept and great voice acting!

The voice acting was hilarious, the lighting is a bit low for me but the controls are tight and responsive. Good Job!

Loved the voice acting in the opening monologue gave the game instant personality. And that retro vibe? Chef’s kiss. I’ve got a soft spot for games like this built in Unreal they just feel right. Sound design’s on point too, from the SFX to the ambient tension.

Solid survival experience overall though man, when the lights cut and the flashlight died? Brutal. I literally couldn’t see a thing and spiraled into panic :D
A tiny emergency glow or subtle ambient light would’ve kept me fighting instead of losing my mind but honestly? That dread is part of what makes the atmosphere so damn good. Great work this one’s got soul.

Good survival game although I found it a bit harsh when everything turned off and the flashlight ran out of power. Could not see anything and ended up losing my sanity :( Would have loved a small faint flashlight or more natural lighting so I still had a chance to recover. The atmosphere is super awesome though and decent voice acting :)

i really liked the voice acting in the starting monologue. and i liked the retro style of the game (i have a warm place in my heart for this kind of games in unreal haha) the sound effects were really good as well.
very solid game. good job

Very creepy atmosphere, very cool concept.  I would've liked if there was an indication for the battery flashlight level and a way to chance the mouse sensitivity.

Overall pretty cool game! good potential

I was very scared when the lights went out and there was no flashlight.

I wish my needs were not reduced during the training monologue.

The game has an atmosphere, I like it.

I would also like a flashlight charge indicator. It doesn't have to be an icon with a number. But let the flashlight blink when the charge is running low.

The vibes are great and had fun playing it. Just wished the intro talk was more slow and to the point. Cool game. Congrats!

Really interesting idea!

This game was soo much fun i really enjoyed playing it and it reminded me of another indie game just like this called Siren head awakening, its also on itch btw. but back on point this game is really  impressive and i loved it the graphics were great and the implementation of sanity meters is unique approach on the themed :D
Rated 10/10 this game is highly underrated and i would love if more people try it out. it is truly an unearthed gem buried deep due to the itch.io algorithm

btw can you try out my game as well, it a little more on point with the theme but its still pretty unique and I'm sure you guys will enjoy it, we're almost in the top ten and we only need a few more Ratings to Reach there.
I Hope to see you guys in the Racookie Heist jam comments :D

i've played and i think the idea is really cool. i had trouble grasping my head around the mechanics however, since i instantly saw food, water, sanity and power go down as soon as i started. i couldnt take the tme to read trough the mails to properly understand what was going on. i bascially died during the first power outage due to sanity depletion. aside form that i think the desing is pretty cool and i loved the PC mechanic, im a sucker for those

The atmosphere keeps you on edge, great dialogue, overall great stuff!

"-Hey, uh, chief, any news on that guy in the watchtower?

-Other than the fact that he still hasn't finished his tasks, no. Why are you asking?

-Well, uh, he mentioned seeing someone outside his tower and contacted me about it. I told him to call you and, uh, he hasn't responded since.

-I didn't receive a single call through this entire night. If you're worried, spare him my scolding and go check on him yourself"

Damn, that's one very atmospheric game. It managed to spook me a few times whenever a notification about a window being unlocked popped up on my screen, well done! It took me a while to figure out what to do, but after that I enjoyed every second of this experience.

Keep up the good work!

Nailed the atmosphere. I liked the "Don't look away from the computer" event, it was really chilling.

Here's a vod of me playing your game. Thanks for sharing!
