Hello there. I'm the developer of The Red Valve.

You might have heard about it, and if not, the best way to describe it, according to people who already played it and liked it, is "Stanleylike" because it reminds a lot of people of The Stanley Parable. So if that's the kind of game you like, then The Red Valve is probably for you as well!

Because I plan to polish it more and release it on Steam by the end of the year, every review I get here is a huge help in making the game better and gives me more confidence to keep working on it.

So if you have time and you are looking for games to try before the jam is over, I would greatly appreciate it if you gave it a try and wrote a review and rating!

Thank you, and i hope you enjoy it!

can i assume you liked the game from this comment? and if you did i would like to know more about what you think haha
and to which room did you manage to get

This game deserves more attention! I love the visuals and the idea so much. I really did not expect this haha.
I struggled a bit with spinning the red valve with the mouse, but you can get used to it. It would be very nice if you had another way to spin it more accurately. But other than that, it's a truly great and unique experience.

I know it might be a joke (which i like)

But in case its not, try to play again, there is a bit more then 2 minutes🤫 its worth it

Oh i understand haha, thank you for clarifying :)

hope you will keep playing once you have time, I promise it gets better haha

Im not quite sure if this is a sarcastic comment, but im happy to hear you enjoyed it! And im indeed aware that if you try to pick an object that is split to 2 parts the main part will always teleport to you hand haha. Can i ask if you finished the game? And if no in which point did you stop?

As expected from the mod team, this was a very polished and good looking experience. It took me a bit of time to understand exactly what I needed to do and how the scoring works. But once I did, it became really fun, and I had a great time. This is a really creative take on the theme of the jam.

This game is so well made! I can't believe it was created in just 7 days! The scale is so impressive, and everything feels so polished. The movement is fun and reactive, it has a lot of juice, great game feel, and it just feels so nostalgic to play. You really nailed the N64 feel. It's probably in the top 3 most impressive games I got to try in this jam, and I'm probably going to keep playing it even after this review.

This game is not working on Wine. It supports only Windows. Every person who tried it on Wine had problems, unfortunately. It works on Linux only if you run it with Steam and Proton, but officially the game is not supported on Linux..

Wow, this game is addictive! I did not plan to play it for so long, but I just kept returning every time I died! It's really one of the most enjoyable games I tried here! The visuals are amazing, the sound is amazing, and the gameplay is just perfect. I love the physics in this game so much!

Such a serious game, wow. I'm so happy I finally stopped clowning around and gave it a try.

The game feels really, really polished, and I'm amazed by the fact that so many people managed to sit together and create one experience that feels so good! I enjoyed every moment of it. The little story is cute, the minigames are great, and of course the visuals are amazing! You created something special, and I'm very happy I gave it a try!

(The only bug I encountered was that if you throw the files, like the hamsters for example, out of the computer screen bounds, sometimes you can't get them back and get stuck.)

This game was so cute! The writing was great and very interesting, and I had a lot of fun reading it! It's really a cute and very serious visual novel, and I will probably keep playing it later to try and get to the other endings!

This is such a good and serious game! I like this idea so much. The voice acting is amazing! The visuals are very cool, and it made me finally realize how silly I was... and that I need to start improving myself if I want to do something with my life.

Visually, this game looks amazing in my opinion! The main mechanic is great, but it lacks a bit of variety. But it's still a very good project and one you can expand on.

Such a great game! It feels so polished and good. The interactive menu is amazing! The visuals are great, and the game feel is just perfect! It might be the best Beyblade game I have played in this jam. Truly worth a moment of everyone's time.

i need more downloadable games to try :)

Wow... I don't have a lot to say. It was just an amazing experience. Probably in the top 3 games I played this jam. It's so fun and clever.

Thank you so much! This means so much to me. I have already started to work on expanding this game beyond just this jam, and I hope to be able to make a version that will deserve a Steam release eventually. It's probably the project I'm most proud of to this day, all thanks to these amazing reviews.

This is the best Beyblade game I got to try so far in this jam! I love the visuals, the customizability, the abilities, and everything about this is pretty great. The only problem I encountered was in the menu. After you return to the menu from every game, the mouse cursor will not appear until you press one time on the screen. If you made your game with Blueprints, on your menu level you should probably call on begin play the "Show Mouse Cursor" and "Set Input Mode Game and UI" nodes. That should fix it and make the menu feel more responsive each time you enter it.

Wow, I really did not expect this. The main game mechanic is actually genius! I also used the scroll wheel in my game, but in a completely different way haha. You did an amazing job here!

i have played and rated your game, i really liked the diraction you took with it!

The UI design is great! Also the wheel sequences. You really nailed the game show feel!

I don't have any complaints about this game. It's simple but very, very enjoyable. It feels polished and like a finished product. The art is great, the audio fits everything perfectly, and the gameplay loop is fun and addictive. You have done a really good job. Probably the best web game I tried in this jam so far.

Thank you so much for giving it a try! And yeah, Stanley Parable is not the only inspiration for this game. It's the whole genre. That includes games like The Beginner's Guide, The Corridor, Don't Press the Button, and all of those. The Stanley Parable is just the most well known one.

Played your game now :) It's so cute! I really enjoyed it! And yeah, as a Godot dev, you can export your game as HTML for the web. That's the best thing about developing in Godot for game jams haha. But even without it, your game is worth the download.

I love the Gameboy art style! It's so cute! The gameplay is fun and simple, and the sound effects are great. I played this game a lot more than I planned to, so that means I had fun haha. As your first public game on Itch.io, it's really good!

I have played and rated your game! It was actually so good! More people should try it. It's totally worth the download.

Wow! This is one of the best games I got to try in this jam! The controls require skill and understanding, but it's not a bad thing. Slowly, I got more used to them and better at them, and they work very, very well. And the visual style is so good! The PS1 style is truly my favorite thing in games. I really enjoyed playing it. Thank you!

I played your game and left a review! I really, really liked it. Finally, a proper Beyblade game haha.

Finally! A real Beyblade game haha. I love it! The visuals are great, I love the 3D menu, and the battle arena is really amazing in terms of visual quality. It was just a bit hard to understand which Beyblade was mine if I lost track of it for a moment haha. But it's still great!

The only real problem I encountered was that the game crashed after 3 battles. I got a pop-up message on the screen saying "Fatal Error!". (If you want me to send you the crash log so you can try and see what might be the problem, you can send me a message on Discord. My user is @sora_vr.)

But other than that, it's probably one of the highest quality games I got to try here.

Thank you😭 im so so so happy to hear i managed to get a laugh out of people!

I was so afraid my dialogue might be boring or not understandable enough. It truly makes me proud and happy to read all of this amazing reviews

Oh! Forgot to answer on the last part. No the void is not the end. there is more after it if you manage to find another thing to spin

It makes me so happy to hear people are actually comparing my small game to stanly parable😭

My goal was to make something that will make people feel similar to what this kind of games made me feel. So seeing all those amazing reviews truly gets tears of joy into my eyes

And yes, the audio indeed needs to be improved. I also made all the game with headphones on so I didn't really check if the volume is good enough when people are using speakers or different headphones and all of that.

Thank you so so much!! Im so happy people are enjoying the dialogues, i was really worried people might not like it😭

and yes im taking inspiration from all this kind of games, like "the corridor", "there is no game", "the stanly parable", "the button" and more! There is also a lot of small references to other games. But yeah haha.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I didn't have enough time to make a proper in game popup menu to quit. But you can also quit the game by just closing the window, the game has a saving system and if you reopen it you will start from the last room you was in, so you don't need to worry about losing progress. About the new game button, it does exist , but only when you finish the game🫠 so yeah haha. If you want to start again before finishing it you can go to %appdata% and find "spintowin_jam2026" or something like that, and then delete "slot1" from the save folder.

But I do plan to keep working on it when the jam is over! So all this stuff will be improved hopefully in the future.

i have played and rated your game! sorry i did not got to finish it.. i really cant handle horror haha. but i can see how much effort you put into it! such great quality and style

thank you so much! im so happy to hear you enjoyed it :) and also dont tell anyone but... the black room is not the end, there is another thing to spin somewhere in the game.. its all about time.

Wow, the style of the game is actually amazing! I can't believe you finished it in one week. You did such a good job with the art direction of this game. I'm not really a person who can handle horror, so I kind of got out of it straight after I got one jump scare... haha. But from what I got to experience before that, it was truly amazing. Oh, and I also really liked the voice acting. In general, it just looks like you did a great job!

I played and rated your game! It was truly wonderful. Anyone who sees this post should try it! It's totally worth the download.

First of all, I am really happy to see another Unreal Engine developer in here! This game was definitely worth the download! It's enjoyable, it's creative, it's funny, and it hits all the right boxes! The models are great, the gameplay loop is so nice, and just everything about this makes me impressed.

The things that can be improved are the menu and the enemies' death. In the menu, you need to press once on the screen, and only then it starts to receive input. I also had this problem. What you need to do is use the node "Set Input Mode Game and UI" on Begin Play in your menu level. This will allow the mouse to be focused on the menu from the start, and in that way it will feel more interactive.

And about the enemies' death, I feel like it was pretty hard to know if you managed to kill them. Sometimes I returned a bit backwards just to make sure. Even if you can see who died in the HUD, it would be nice if there were a more noticeable sound that indicates a kill.

But other than these two things, the game is actually amazing! It can totally be a game on Steam even at this point.
