Great game!
Things to feedback:
- Once i gotten the save 5 and 2, seems like i am basically invincible.
- the knife is kinda hard to click one
Thank you!
Yes, save 5.2 and you will become invincible, but only once. Maybe that's too much
Idk why knife is hard to click, hitbox is big enough. smth happens after animation
I WON!! (with -$11 in my pocket, -1 ear, and -1 eye). And the only thing I had to do was have mad skills (just keep throwing dice). Insanely good game for a 1 week jam.
Really nice and polished game! I thought it was cool that the more you drank, your character actually got nauseated. I'm not sure if this is a bug btw, but when the dealer dude said a drink was on the house, it still costed me chips. Also I was able to go into negative chips for the slot machine.
Really cool vibe. Sad that the vip effect did not stack I don't know if that was intended or a bug. I had a lot of fun. Though it does get a bit slow when you when you only have 1 dice that just doesn't burn XD. Hope you expend on this in the future. Good luck!
Really love the idea, all the debufs+perks work great together, by the way the risk factor definitelly caught me off guard when I had to give up my ear… and even then it really synergizes with a lot of strats, I got lucky on 1st lever pull and I managed to grab myself a VIP ticket… this is seriously one of the better gambling games I’ve seen in this jam. A couple of things I would suggest is making dice colorful, and adding to the combo if you roll the same number multiple times in a row with that dice, as I went with beer on the last round and it was a bit painful to get to 360 with only 3 dice… And also make the buffs stand out from debuffs, VIP and HANGOVER were paired together and I though they were both positive :) But overall a great concept
As for the ear, I thought for a long time what is better: to give a buff or a debuff. I'm still not sure if I chose correctly.
VIP and HANGOVER are just a demonstration of the fact that the buff and debuff work at the same time. I didn't know how to do it differently, so I wrote it like this.
And on the last round you had 3 dice because the debuff from the drink worked, which cuts the initial number of dice.
Overall, thanks for the advice!
I got that part, just saying it was tedious to play once I lost the 1st 2 dice almost immediately
Interesting game, felt well balanced. Loose some, win some. Strategy is a factor but luck is too. I did run into one bug on a run where I was trying to loose (so it didn't bother me - in fact it was welcome). I lost the first try and immediately after the knife was put on the table, the scene with losing a bar repeated (I lost the second) and another knife was put on the table. The second knife just stayed there until I reached game over.
Thanks for review!
I've heard a lot about the bug with this knife. This is because I've spent the last couple of hours on this part of the game) So it's not surprising that there are problems there.. I was too busy with the location and didn't have time to test it properly.. Although I myself have not encountered such a bug
Not sure if it helps with debugging but since I was trying to loose to see the bad ending, I didn't take any drinks except one "loose debuff, -1 dice" at the very beginning. I also used the machine on the left only once or twice (until I won) and left the reward in the machine.
Well, I don't think it has anything to do with the knife) But thanks!
The atmosphere just perfect!
The setting is perfect. Every detail of the room has great level of polish and it serves the atmosphere really well. I'm still not sure what the optimal strategy to win is, and have been picking drinks without thinking, which hasn't led to anything fruitful. I will probably come back to it to try to get a win.
The concept of your game is very similar to what we wanted to achieve in ours, but we went all in on the board game and had no time left for the rest of the room! So all-in-all very impressive work. Keep it up!
And I spent the first 3 days making the location, because I had little practice in this. And I worked less on the gameplay itself, so there may be shortcomings and bugs there
Thanks for review!
Reallhy well designed
Love the atmosphere of the game!
The atmosphere, combined with gameplay, is really great. Normally, 3D on the web may have some quality drop, but yours is just really smooth! But other than slot spin and drink buff, is there other mechanic of gameplay to win, because I feel like I just keep spamming dice and winning. (The hangout effect is one of the best I have ever seen!)
At the moment, the only way to increase your chance of winning is to use the slot machine and drinks.
However, if you lose, it will give you one bonus, which will also make the game easier.
Rather, I initially did this so that the game would not cause problems with winning, perhaps I overdid it a little.
Also thanks for review!
I usually don't like overly loud music in games, but this is an exception.
Quite enjoyed playing this, and inspired by Inscryption I take it! Visuals and SFX are well done.
Great art and aesthetic!
Great game with great visuals to back it up. Feels very inspired by shotgun roulette. To improve, maybe have the dice roll into the square instead of just dropping
This is a fun little addictive game. Reminded me of a cross between Balatro and Inscryption. Music is fun, punishments are brutal and the bar is open.
I would take some time polishing how the game explains itself to the player, but that's just a small nitpick. Good job.
I played the downloadable version. It was fun. Everything was good, so I'll just mention the things I noticed that were off. Hit box on the knife needs adjusted. Left mouse button doesn't interact with everything. Works with most things though. The round counter went to -1 when I beat it. Aside from that, solid entry!
Thanks!
Mouse button interact will work only when you sit at table.
"The round counter went to -1 when I beat it" - my mistake with counting indexes)
very good, addictive and right on theme. good job.
A good twist on a gambling game. I did unfortunately soft-lock at the "cut your ear" part, so I wasn't able to continue. But it is a fun game nonetheless.
A mix of buckshot roulette and clover pit, maybe a little to derivative of the first one (especially in the starting cutscene, but it's iconi so I understand why you wanted to do it that way)
At a certain point the opponent told be to cut my ear twice and then nothing more, the game froze and I couldn't do anything else. Aside for this bug that could happen I suggest to make the dice really roll (and maybe explain how the score is calculated)
Anyway really outstanding work for a game jam, it feels like a finished game!
If you try mine, let me know what you think!
Oh yeah, I love clover pit) so I wanted to make something similar.
I didn't encounter your bug during testing. It's a pity that it happened.
I think I'll add the counting rules to the description. I didn't have time to make some kind of sheet with combinations in the game.
That was a great. Addictive. I thought I was doing great when I got the red dice at the slots. Nope. But I wanted to try the game again, so good job. Best of luck in the jam!
