I'm so very sorry you all didn't have time to complete this. The art looked wonderful and seemed to have an interesting premise behind it. There is so much promise here and I look forward to what you do going forward (maybe even making a working MVP :D ) <33

Very adorable, I loved the artstyle. Very reminicient of simple arcade games. The speed of the turning can make the second wave a little difficult when the bulls approach you from both sides (but no matter for me, a highly skilled gamer B) ). A great representation of the theme with a good feel to the controls. The small bits of dialogue were very charming and got a good laugh. Fantastic work, and I look forward to what you make going forward <3.
The bugs are unfortunate, but I was very lucky to play it in the room on your personal computer. The art, backgrounds, and music made it a very charming experience. Using Dialogic was very interesting, as I have used very little godot addons myself (just a leaderboard addon in a previous jam). I really enjoyed the story (even if it broke my heart that I ended up framing Pepper </3). I loved this and I am so excited to see what you do moving forward <3!!
This was extremely charming and hilarious. I loved the look and feel of the hand drawn assets, and there was so much love and care put into the small details that made it even funnier (the rick roll, the "for educational purposes only"). This was fantastic work and I look forward to what you will make going forward <3.
Making a CYOA was a fantastic idea (and very nostalgic) even if a bit unorthadox. The story was very well written, the look was very minimalistic and the user experience was very smooth :). I did get a little confused with the starting text, as my first thought wasn't to click on it, but after figuring that out it was very obvious which text prompts I was able to interact with.
I do believe I got all of the endings (?) and while it's always sad there is no "good" ending, I think this fits the theme extremely well. There really is no winner in situations like these, where you hold the lives of millions+ in your hands. Truly a work of art, and I am so excited to see what you make going forward <3.
Fantastic work! Implementing local co-op was a very ambitious idea that paid off amazingly :). The idea was very interesting, and while the balancing was a little wonky (as expected, given the time limit) the level seemed very creatively designed. (I definitely saw it all because I 100% won when I played it with Tina) This was an amazing feat and I am so excited to see what you do going forward!
10/10 game, 15/10 skit beforehand. I would never have been able to appreciate the beauty of John Adventure: Demise of Hope Killer if I had not seen the skit beforehand. I pity those who will not be able to experience it themselves.
Unfortunately I was not able to complete the game (if there was a dedicated end screen) as I had a massive skill issue (and there seemed to be some issues with collision causing me to take damage with no enemies around?) but it truely was a John experience. Fantastic work and I look forward to what John Industries Inc brings in the future <3!!
Oh this was adorable, the concept was so cute <3. The feel of the gameplay can feel a little off, as the movement is very sensitive and the fact that E is used for everything (having to juggle the flamethrower and delivering the biscuits). It has a simple and cute gameplay loop, and I personally loved food management games when I was younger and this gave me the same vibes :D
Not to ride on others thoughts, but the multiplayer aspect was very cool and you guys deserve props for it! The graphic were adorable and I loved the feel of 3D top-down-view. Took a second to get used to it, but overall it was very simple and easy to get a feel for. Could very easily see it as a minigame for a party game setup jajaja. Putting cookies down automatically every second seemed like it made it easy by just following the players path, but with the different water/land movement speeds it allowed for some cool tactics :)
Ah i see i see. No matter what order they come out in, i'm sure they will be great :D! Also real - the only 2 jams I've done have been with friends, I can't imagine how hard it is to tackle this as a solo dev. Anytime I see that "1 person" it's always like wow jaja. Excited to see what you come up with!!
OH MY GOODNESS THIS WAS ADORABLE !!! Everything being physically drawn was so charming, down to the big red YOU arrow and the sound of the dice (which sounded like flipping through a stack of papers, not sure if that was intentional). Despite the simplicity, it seemed really cohesive. It's not complicated, but I would say this is a complete and fairly polished game. Beautiful work <3
Very cute! There was some issues in the backgrounds in blending together, but I could tell there was a lot of care in the art :). The animation for the player specifically was smooth and adorable ! I enjoyed the atmosphere, especially on the 2nd level with the comically small cars -- it really did feel like a little kid on a long (imaginary) journey to achieve the illustrious biscuit. Took a minute to get used to the gameplay, but after getting it down the levels where quite easy and mostly the same. More moving objects like the plane in the first level could really up the difficulty in later levels!
Great work!
Can very confidently say 5 starts for everything. Was very glad to see that you referenced Papers Please but reverse in another comment because that is the EXACT thing I was thinking while playing!!! I agree with others that having an option to 'turn in' early would be nice. The 2 minutes was just long enough to finish but also properly stressed me out on my first playthrough, but when I messed up and realized what I had to fix, it felt long as I finished much earlier the 2nd and 3rd time.
Having the border rules update to keep track of your previous identities is a fantastic touch. Couldn't quite figure out what the third room was for? (Not the one where you edit your passport or look at the map) Or what format the Identification code should be in, but that may just be a skill issue (I'm playing this quite late at night jaja).
If you decide to take this game further, I would be so excited to see where you take it! The atmosphere is fantastic. I love these styles of games and the pressure / risk does a fantastic job of making me stressed, but not enough to make it a bad experience. I would not be cut out for this job jajajajaaj :p
Oh this was adorable <3. I loved the chicken model and the mix of 2D and 3D elements went really well together. Turning into a chicken leg upon death gave me a good giggle. Not sure if it is intentional with the risk mechanic but sometimes the neck wouldn't extend/chicken wouldn't eat upon pressing space. Eating felt finnicky and if you stretched out your neck and moved to the next lane, the neck would stay in the previous lane.
I will say that I feel that the Theme is so beautifully woven into this, I avoided the spiders and scorpions on my first run due to preconceived notions, but on my second "f*** it we ball" eat everything in front of me run, I was pleasantly surprised to see many of the "bad looking" items could give some beneficial effects! Sometimes it was a little unclear what happened whenever I ate something (did I speed up/slow down or was I not paying attention? did my bar even move?).
Overall, adorable graphics and fun gameplay :).
The web version threw an error, so I was unable to play on browser. The Windows ZIP file worked fine however! I love tower defense games, and this concept was really cute. The tigers being the main enemy was a very silly edition that made me laugh watching the tigers and assorted birds battle it out :). It was hard to tell what the buildings did, especially before buying them, but I loved the idea of trying to farm and keep your defenses up!!
yeah the balancing was not our first priority at all , and unfortunately it shows LMFAO😿😿 but so glad you enjoyed the critters and customers!!! they gave me a good giggle when i was shown them :)
surely after the jam its a bit more playable and you can be the #1 creature seller the world has ever seen !!
The music was calming and I did enjoy the mini story. Made me feel very sentimental. The ability to play co-op made me nostalgic, lowkey. Haven't played one of those since I was a kid. While it's good for accessibility I also think it adds a lot to the story, being able to play a game about always finding your person with said person :')
