In this game, the emptiness corrupts into enemies. In this way, the nothingness "goes wrong".

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Every piece of art and code is original (except for unused placeholder sprites), but one of the songs was loosely based on a previous original soundtrack.

How many people worked on the game?

Hello! Firstly id like to say this is a really cool bullet hell and one of the nicest ive seen this jam :3 the fact u can change your characters values in real time is really epic sauce and the bullets feel impactful as well :3 If ya continue after the jam, I think itd be really nice if you could see how many bosses you have left inbetween or during levels (on my first play through, I lowkey hadn't figured out there were 4 and a big boss) Epic game!

The info is in the description, but nobody reads that so that's on us. Glad you liked it tho!

Nice game

The game was fine. Everything was a little too floaty for my tastes and it felt like it took quite a while for the bosses to spawn. I think you should have made it so the enemy projectiles only started to fade out when they were almost gone, as I found myself getting hit frequently by projectiles that were barely visible. I really liked the added customization of the player character, always love when small touches like that are added. Could use some sound effects and a little more refining, but this is a solid base you have here.

Developer

I made it so the enemy projectile hit box gets disabled for the last 10% of its lifespan, but that translates to the last 0.5 seconds, so it should probably be triple that or something. I'm probably going to change it in the post-jam version.

The pacing and gameplay was pretty satisfying. I would suggest adding sound effects to increase the engagement. Good work!

Developer

I'm glad you liked the game! We only ended up making a weird shooting sound effect that didn't fit and scrapping that.

easy to pick up and gets you to want to keep playing! nice work!!

This game kept me on my toes, well done! Controls are simple and easy to get used to but the challenge builds up in a very nice way

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Glad you liked this game! I didn't think the buildup was that good, especially with the final boss.

Submitted

I'm a total beginner at these types of games but the buildup felt good to me, it got tougher and tougher over time, so as I got better, the game got harder.

It was funny how squid was inking my whole screen realy well done

Developer

It was surprisingly simple to implement but I kept overthinking it. I'm glad it wasn't too annoying!

Nice game! I ended up mistaking power-ups and health as enemies and shot them XD! Good platformer!

Developer

A lot of playtesters also made that mistake. I tried to make it clear in the manual but very few players use it.

Cute game! Its missing sound effects, without them it feels a bit empty. The music as well doesn't feel that it fits the game (music is almost relaxing and game is intense).

But the game is very fun, keep it up!

Developer

The boss music was originally going to be the main music with a different boss theme, but some communication and time issues came up, so the amin theme was created in its stead. Thanks for playing!

Nice game. I think more sound effects can be added. It feels uncomfortable to attack without any sound effects

Developer(+1)

We had an attack sound but forgot to add it. It didn't really sound right anyway.

Good Job! I liked the shooting system, but it's a bit like a cheat one. Fireballs can pass through <span class="EzKURWReUAB5oZgtQNkl" data-src-align="101:6" <through<="" span="">walls</span> and destroy enemies, which would be better fixed.

Developer

I'm sorry, but I don't understand that code. This game was made with Construct 3, not a regular language.

Niceeee, the art is great, bosses fun and interesting (even tho I can't get past the slime because the character stops to respond to commands because of intense lag) and music is great, with sound effects for both enemies and the player would be amazing! The squid boss was fun :)

Pretty advanced gameplay. Loved that character had two attack options. I can agree with UI, it could be smaller. Other than that solid game!

Submitted

Cool work! I would have preferred the Blue UI (top left) to be smaller though, it covers a lot of the screen.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, a playtester also suggested that, but I just forgot to add it/procrastinated.

Edit: The blue UI is a healthbar if you didn't know

Nice game, I had fun, well done ! :)

I really enjoyed playing this game! The abilities were fun to use and the music helped keep me immersed in the gameplay!

I like your main character. It's a mix between a cat and a bat, right? :D

Developer

Glad you like them! I designed the main character to mostly resemble a bat, just with some exaggerated features and proportions. I did consider making them more cat-like at first, though, so that's probably where the slight cat vibe comes from.
