A decent game! Probably echoed feedback but yea Z is really tough for a dash lol. Also it seems the spikes immediately kill you which is kinda painful since you have to restart everything. Makes the game feel clunky, perhaps a checkpoint system would be nice. But either way good job on the game!

Like others have said, Z on dash is not really intuitive, maybe Q/E/Shift or something? And I would also like to hear some SFX when the character is hit and slight pitch change variation on some repeating sounds like jumping works pretty well. But otherwise it is not bad, and with some more polish it could be great!
Why is Z dash?!?!?!?! Also pls do not make me go through the whole game when i die... I really want to finish the game, but the control scheme just makes me puke. I guess it is a skill issue, but the dash is sooooo not intuitive on z... Otherwise work on collision and player feedback on hit and dmg (against enemy and player). Still a good game, I am just annoyed at the dash...
Very interesting take on the theme! The concept is very unique and executed well, the gameplay overall is fun. The only criticism that I have is that death is a bit too punishing. Having to sit through the end cutscene and then restart the game to watch the first cutscene and only then being able to play was a bit unfair. But other than that I really like the concept and the game is really fun!
The controls were solid but pressing Z for dash felt uncomfortable. My ring finger was on A so I didn't know how to "quick access" Z. Maybe Shift would've been a better choice. While you can only jump twice, I noticed that dashing is infinite and that could help on some places. It's not too broken because of the spikes everywhere.
I must admit that I didn't complete the game. Having 5hp but spikes kill you instantly feels too cruel. Combined with the fact that a full game over screen plus reload takes more than 20 seconds and no checkpoints I couldn't make it to the end. It has potential but some kinks need to be ironed out.
I'm going to bed.
The game is really cool style wise, I also really like the 3D to 2D change :D its also really fun, I feel like the controls work really well. Good job! :)
The 3D to 2D transition made me laugh! I love the mix-and-match artstyle and the title cards that feel like an older comedy film. Great job on this guys!
I like the shift of 3d to 2d which really caught me off guard at first. The story and feel of the game are actually pretty good with it feeling very atmospheric in the 3d scene and the 2d scene being pretty interesting too with the whole heaven and hell levels. Overall, It's an enjoyable game with very nice vibes.
Some feedback I have is that while the 3d looks really good the 2d sprites used don't really feel cohesive. The pixel art background and tile set doesn't mesh well with the more drawn cartoon look of the character, enemies, and UI. I would recommend trying to stick to one style which will really just make it more cohesive and more professionally looking automatically but it gets a pass because it's a game jam game. Also, the character movement could use some more polish with adding more feedback and responsive controls.
It's definitely a cool game with a fun concept, I really like reality and surreal mixed together in games for the contrast. I would say the biggest thing that could improve the game feel is more feedback to make hits feel more oomph, currently combat works but it doesn't feel satisfying to really do and can be more punishing without the invincibility timer. Platforming is also fine but if you had interest and doing more with the game some polish on how it feels would go a long way :)
Overall it was a fun and cool experience.
I like the difference between the dreams and reality. It is a nice narrative touch! I like the uses of the theme!
The difference between the 3D and 2D scenes was pretty cool to see and really does give a "dream-like" feeling! Very cool concept :D
This is a pretty cool concept. I like how the main character is in a dream state. It definitely game me surreal vibes just like a dream. I felt in certain areas the jump trajectory was maybe a touch too high, but all in all it was a fun experience. Really cool concept and would love to see more of this.
So cool. Game title fool me this game must be 3D action game. But when game start it become 2D platforming. I love this genre. You make level design so good. The only thing I wish to have either retry or continue button when I fail. But I understand that character must wake up and end his dream.
Interesting idea, I know it's been said, but I think the controls could have been made a bit more friendly, even by using a different key for the dash button, as you can't really dash leftwards easily.
The game would definitely benefit from a "Retry" button upon death.
I found that even with 5 health / lives, I would lose instantly upon touching a ghost or spikes, is this intended?
Cool scene transition. I like the guy in the bedroom. Platformer mechanics seemed ok, but I'm not sure about mixing mouse and keyboard. I had trouble switching back and forth. I might also suggest letting the player restart a level, instead of ending the game on death.
Great job! I really like the blend of the 3D sleeping guy and the 2D platformer, it's really cool. I thought the controls were a bit difficult to use, at least on laptop, so that's just something to keep in mind. Very creative and fun game though!
What a weird game, I didn't look at the screenshots and was so surprised seeing the beginning LOL. Its been said already but a retry would go a long way. It also seemed there is no proper invulnerability timer for the player? When you get hit, you can easily lose all your health in a second. Besides that, really neat game, I loved the platforming!
Yeah, there is no invulnerability on the player as you mentioned, we never noticed the fact (even when we put invulnerability on the boss :0 ). The hazards were designed so that you lose all the health at once, enemies and the boss deal single damage; thank you for your feedback and I am glad you liked the platforming :)
