I really enjoyed playing this game it's pretty fun and addictive. I really like the concept. Well done !
Fun game. I do think the others have left good comments so far. Small changes to increase speed/pacing, maybe a little more explanation during the game, etc. would really elevate the game. Overall this is a great foundation, nice job on this!
Interesting game, reminds me of Vampire survivors. I would suggest not throwing a ton of upgrades at the player before playing (i'd suggest playing first, then upgrading, and repeat) because players don't even have a sense of what the game is like when buying upgrades. Overall you did a nice job, appreciate it!
Thank for playing our game and leave this thoughtful comment. Honesty in our development process, we found our small group of play tester have a really hard time to beat first stage. But some players are Vampire Survivors veteran, they comment that this game difficulty is too easy. We decide to counter this gap by give a chance for new player to put some upgrades (even they have no idea how it was) with some initial budget. For pro player they can make handicap by not touching any upgrades and challenge themselves.
Oh okay, interesting balancing then!

small improvement that would improve it is to make the progression go smaller, especially for a game jam where people might not play your game for a long time
You have a point. We mistook player behavior for game jam. At first, we estimate our playtime much longer than this version. We try to make it much more compact by cut in halves. But in reality, for game jam some people spend less time for a game than our expectation. We will keep this thing in our mind for next jam.
Interesting, I might have missed the progressoin system as while fighting I did not see choices popping up, maybe I did not play long enough or maybe I did not notice it ? it's a funny idea :) death and a little girl, what could go wrong haha
Thank for playing our game. This game has many ideas to implement but not all idea is fit to theme. We have discussion internal our team that we don't want to deal with leveling system and power-up choices. It is out of theme, because you might feel regret what you choose then guess "I do go wrong by those decision". In game design perspective, this system really difficult to keep game balance.
Cool little game! The upgrade system definitely makes it a good one, especially for a game jam, so you can get more gameplay out of an inherently simple gameplay loop. I only wish more enemy types came in sooner, and difficulty rose faster. It is kind of boring to sit around with basic enemies after a run for a while when I want to fight stronger enemies and more in number.

This mistake comes by development process. We face some problems in optimization that make our game laggy very much, so we decide to drastically reduce in number of objects to make game run smooth. We will improve it for our next game.
There was definitely a lot of work and thought put into this submission. I love games with a simple and effective game loop that incorporate a sense of progression with permanent upgrades so this one spoke to me! I think the character could stand to be a little faster as well as reducing the amount of time you have to wait before the first wave is sent. Overall great job, you both should be very proud!

As a reformed Vampire Survives addict, this game speaks to me. I love the new ideas you guys bring to the genre. I think faster combat and movement would improve the experience.

In my opinion conlission of Guide is too OP, you can bodyblock many things to prevent damage(even boss) and sometimes it's a pain in the ass, like when you need to run around the trees and so to pick up a coin or smth. If the pain is intentional, perhaps the boss should be flying?
If i were you I would tune balance a bit like Guide and mobs speed++, Guide damage++, skythe length---. So your character needs to run arond Buddy(or through). But maybe you chased other feelings from player.

Tree collision box is unexpected. I thought it has collision only on the bottom part

Very nice Idea. The mechanic of a character you need to protect is really fun. Now that I see it, I am baffled that I never saw that done before :D
That being said, the character you have is a bit to slow for my taste, the enemies love to get stuck. You have a real solid foundation, I hope you keep working on it, it's a really cool and nice idea :)

If you can improve the Technical stuff (like a bit unresponsive controller between the guider and the main and annoying invisible colliders), this game can be Addictive, which is enjoyable. Great Game 👍
