How does the game fit the theme?
Since the theme is Nothing Can Go Wrong, our game takes place in a world that has been at peace for 1000 years. This has made the heroes of the time, complacent. Therefore, in their arrogance they have ventured without items!
Thinking "Nothing can go wrong!"
Now it's up to you, a humble Apothecary and your medicinal herbs, fix all the things that have gone wrong.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Main character and farming/gems sprites. Music and sound effects

How many people worked on the game?

Really cute game! id consider having a split screen or something cause right now helping the heroes was a little unsatisfyxing to me... honestly it took me a while to unblinf myself s i was mostly playing the farming part lol. Great concept!!! If think style wise the assets are matching with the custom sprites, but the pixel resoultion is really off wich makes some stuff look a little weird...

overall great game to good job!

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback too, giving players a way to keep an eye on the fight while farming is a great idea!

A neat little game! Loved the concept of helping out the heroes and not being the main character. I think if the game had more of a hands on tutorial thatd make the start less overwhelming. But overall good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, next time we'd be sure to adjust the learning curve!

I really enjoyed this! I found myself getting hooked and replaying the game, trying to help the heroes.

It was a little overwhelming at first trying to work out what's going on, but after you find your rhythm it's a really enjoyable game. Something I did note is that one of my guys was "Sleepy", and nothing I planted seemed to help him. I felt a little too rushed to work out what plant would fix the "Sleepy" issue best, so just did another play through. My first play though was also a bit rough as I was "blind" until I worked out what to do, and by the time I planted the sunflower everyone had very low health and I just restarted again lol!

I think if you make this a bit more beginner friendly, it could make an already great game even better! Thanks for making this :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, SLEEP is the only move that does not have a flower, but instead it goes down by itself every turn until the character wakes up. We should have made that clearer, sorry for the confusion but super glad you enjoyed your time with the game!

Pretty unique game idea and nice execution! Super creative and well done.

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing !!!

It's a well rounded experience in terms of gameplay, however I think it's a bit overwhelming in terms of the text on the screen. There could also be some minor improvements like using number keys to switch tools as amethyscent said and perhaps moving the character without the use of tools (like with arrow/WASD keys) just because sometimes the player sprite gets in the way of the crops on screen.

As a new player I also think there is just too much going on, I only played once in all fairness but from I gathered there isn't much progression barre from getting a higher score. All the crops are available from the start, which is too much to figure out and  would be better if they wore progressively unlocked. The fight even starts before you can finish reading the starting objectives.

As for positives, i'm impressed how you made the isometric style with all the logic for cutting, shoveling, watering, harvesting, etc without any bugs that I could find. Also the idea is pretty creative and haven't really seen a game that does a similar concept with the parallel of farming and combat simultanously.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing! Excellent feedback, thanks so much. We'll be sure to include these changes in future updates!

Very unique take on the theme! I love the concept, the game is very fun to play. The gameplay loop is very well done and interesting! The leaderboard and score are also a great idea, because they increase the game's replayability! My only criticism is that the game's instructions are a bit too long and complicated, I think the game would benefit more from an interactive tutorial. I really liked the art and music, they were both very charming. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words and detailed feedback, I agree, next time we will be sure to focus on a good tutorial too. Thanks for playing!

Very cool idea for a game, I had never seen something like it!

Developer

Thank you! Was super fun to make

This is the most intense cozy game I've ever played. It's a pretty cool slant to be supplemental and proximal to the main action. Cool idea!

Developer

An intense cozy game XD, sounds like an oxymoron but thats such a good way to describe it lol

Submitted(+1)

The weird concept manages to work pretty well.
It felt pretty tense trying to tend to my hero's needs.

Developer

Nice, glad you enjoyed it

Submitted(+1)

The concept is really cool. The Art style is cozy and the core game play is simple but really challenging to complete. A great game overall. Keep up the good Work.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

Very innovative concept, the sense of urgency given from my friends dying in battle while I'm busy farming is so cool. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Interesting concept, pretty cool that this was made in 1 week, keep up the good work

Developer

Thank you!!!

Overall, a fantastic experience for a game made in one week! The visuals, mechanics and cutscenes are all amazing! Some polishing will definitely make it stand out.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it :D

Submitted(+1)

Amazing game! I'm impressed to how you create this game only by one week. However, I think the initial cutscene is a bit inanimate. I understand that you didn't have enough time to create animations, but after the game jam is over, it would be a good idea to add some animations. Anyway, the gameplay itself is very exciting, great job!

Developer

Yep, it was the last thing we did lol, just an hour before the deadline! Not rushing that again lol. Thanks for the feedback

Submitted(+1)

WOW, great job for a one week submission. What a great twist for a game supporting the heros by growing crops! The only feedback I have is balancing out the time between watering cycles. It felt like I didn't have a ton of extra time to clear the surrounding area  and check out shop options because my perfectionist brain wanted to water the plants as soon as that was possible (maybe thats just a me problem!) I know that sort of micro balancing takes a lot of play testing which is a task of it's own, so for a short deadline jam you should all be very proud, great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we'd be sure to reevaluate the watering times for a post jam ver

Submitted(+1)

Great game! I'm amazed that you managed to implement all these logic within a week!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! We actually tried making a farming game some time ago too and failed completely lol so this was attempt 2!

Submitted(+2)

What a great game! It'd be great if it were easier to switch between items. Like pressing 1 to select the shovel, 2 for the watering can, etc.. Also, it was a bit hard for me to see when it was night. Maybe you could have lights come on at that time? Maybe lamps or fireflies if you want a more natural look. Other than that, good job!

Developer(+1)

Hey, glad you liked it! Great ideas, I've already started on working on some of those ideas for a post jam ver :D

Submitted(+1)

This game was so fun to learn!
The music is very chill and relaxing. I had to reread a the instructions a few times but then I got the hang of it!
The game concept is very cool. I think in a future update it would be nice if the fighters started on easier monsters and then the game worked up to harder ones so the player could watch their breath at the beginning. It would have also been helpful if the seeds and grown plants had different sprites. Overall this game was really fun and I enjoyed myself quite a bit. I would definitely play this game in my spare time! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for the excellent comment and feedback! I wanted to do the autobattler pixel art myself so I ran out of time for more enemies but I totally agree that it would be great to slowly introduce more status effects from specific monsters.

P.S. also the seed sprites were a complete oversight, thanks for bringing it up. Gotta fix that in a future version lol

Submitted(+1)

Fun game!, maybe you can upgrade the water can so you don't need to water so often the crops, allowing a bigger field and a growth potencial

Developer(+1)

Oh great idea, that would be a cool thing to put in the shop
