Visually the game looked great! Loved all the effects and models. Only thing was that i couldnt figure out how to actually play, I reached the point at which i had to make a campfire and such but i couldnt figure out how to use any of the items i had picked up, perhaps an in game tutorial would be nice, just like how the paddling text was shown :D

Awesome. I loved the atmosphere.

Oh wow, my thalassophobia just woke up 🤣 Nice visuals! The paddling sometimes gets stuck and i dont think it is adding any speed to the boat. Also i noticed there is weird pivot on the camera when on boat (especially when looking down or up). But otherwise cool!

Developer

Sorry, I didn't explain the mechanic well enough in the game. You have to fully get the oar to the end of the animation for it to reset, so if you just barely leave it before it reaches the end it wont reset. I'll see about the camera issue as well. Thanks for the feedback

Very nice narrative experience! Many attention to details, like the shaking when it is cold. The gameplay is minimalistic but nice and well executed. The low poly visuals are gorgeous. Good atmospheric sound too. And the end... pretty cool! The only weak point is that it hardly fits the theme. That aside, very good job, congrats!

Developer

Thanks, I started the game kind of late but I wanted to make sure that the details made up for the brief playtime, so i'm happy you notice and appreciate them too.

I suppose the issue I had with making it fit the theme was the idea of finding a beautiful island where nothing went wrong up until the end, which many games did where the theme was interpreted ironically and there was in fact a twist where something went wrong. I can see how the player's already dire situation of survival kind of goes against the idea of nothing being wrong in the  first place, but I tried to make the island in a way where it solved the player's problems and they had a brief moment of relief when they built the campfire and they get a chance to look at the sky. Perhaps I didn't pace it well enough as there isn't enough 'peaceful' time.

Anyway I appreciate your feedback 👍

It's a nice short adventure! The visuals are phenomenal and I can definitely see this expanding into a full game in the future! Great job!

I love the art style and the whole aesthetic! Would love to see a full version of this someday. Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks, I'm definitely going to try out more 3D stuff with Godot in the future. I'm curious though as to what you would consider a full version to my game in terms of things to add

This is a really god game. I love the visual aesthetic and the level design. I feel like I would personally add this to my collection, as it is right up my alley. Awesome job to the dev, I hope to see this developed further. Great job!

Developer

That's very kind of you, thanks. I'm planning on adding fully voiced lines.

Very nice atmosphere, I love the level of detail, with the breathing and the footsteps, well done! Awesome!!

I really enjoyed my time with this! Its artsytle is simple yet pretty and the gameplay is polished. It's short but it's a nice little adventure.

ps. I really liked looking up to drink from a coconut! That was really fun and I wish more games had cool little gameplay details like that!

Good game! Visuals are insane

Again thank you for the feedback.

I played the game and I liked that it was intuitive. I wasn't sure about controls, but then I realized it is simple. Paddling was funny, clunky, but in a good way. I liked visuals a lot and the random events that happened. I don't know what to add, it is lovely survival game with a good story.  Well made!

The end surprise me ! Very good game

Really like the atmosphere the game brought!

Great game bro I really like it, I hope you make another part!

I couldn't figure out how to play it? I would love to try it out.

Developer

Sorry didn't make it clear enough, just check the description on the page

Interesting and atmospheric experience, but branches are kinda hard to find in the dark :)

Submitted(+1)

loved it! really fun experience, even if it's short :)

Submitted(+1)

Dang, that was awesome. More cinematic than game, but still an awesome experience. Well done on the atmosphere and feel of it. Short and sweet, I hope tortle lives a long life.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks, its definitely a step away from my previous games which are a lot more gameplay and functionality focused. But im glad you enjoyed the atmospheric format, it's exactly what I wanted :)

Polished intro.  I liked the ending.  I spent half the time trying to find the last stick by the edge of the water by some trees.  Consider moving that last stick or providing an extra stick so that the user doesn't get stuck if they can't find all of the sticks.  Good job!

Developer

Well considering the other comments saying the same thing I guess this is the last straw ;) I'll add an extra stick/stone, gives it a bit more realism too.

When started playing this game, I truly felt some AAA stuff in it. The first mission to collect the rocks and stick for the campfire was good feature in the game. It hooked me to the nostalgic Forest (well harmless in this case) vibes.

But i was not able to find the last one rock and two sticks on the whole Island.

Anyway, good work, keep it up.
