Wow, I did not expect to get so many feels during this game jam but this game blew me away. I appreciate the energy it takes into telling a story like this in such short of a time. The experience was deep but not obnoxious and I think it was very well put together. Thanks for making this!

How does the game fit the theme?
When you think you are nothing, like the protagonist Nothing does, you can go wrong like Nothing by trying to be perfect in order to feel acceptable. But the truth is you already have inherent worth. You are enough, and you matter.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music, sound effects, most of the backgrounds, and fonts

This game perfect for describing theory of stages of grief. Some kind of emotional damaging until we took acceptance. I cheer everyone up for whatever they facing with. Good job and thanks for good game.
This was a really cool game! I thought that the message was awesome, and that the gameplay was great. The only issue I had was that sometime I had to click multiple times to make the buttons work, but that might have just been my old computer.
Wow, this is quite an experience. As a self-denying person myself, this is extremely relatable. The dread during the middle session hits me especially strong and it's just that relastic. It's nice to see someone make this feeling and experience into a game so this alone deserves a lot of praise. Well done!
For a little bit of criticism for the gameplay, I'd say it's a bit on the simple side, and I think having more variations of the sentences will make the game much challenging and enjoyable. Also, I am not sure if I am getting this wrongly, but "the work is terrible" and "you'll never amount to anything" maps to "school" and "work" respectively seems kind of wrong. Isn't it the other way around?
Anyway, this is a surprisingly nice entry in my opinion. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Regarding the last thing you mentioned, the the third category isn't "work" but more broadly "The Future". That's why "You'll never amount to anything" goes there - it echoes the protagonist Nothing's fear about his future prospects (the future tense is also a hint). "This work is terrible" refers to schoolwork, not a job.
(I think my own choice to use "find perfect job" instead of "find perfect career" earlier in the game might have caused some confusion. I believe the latter would have made it more clear to players how old Nothing actually is.)
Thanks for playing!
Nice minimalist mechanics pack with a powerful punch, capturing the relentless pressure of perfectionism and the slow, inevitable burnout we all fear. It’s a beautifully crafted, thought-provoking journey that stays with you after you finish playing. Nicely done!
Woah, this game was way deeper than i thought it would be, i love it!
I think the message the game is giving is also very good, and in terms of gameplay, i also liked it! it was hard but fair!
Not really sure what to make of it as a game, but I thought the presentation was really well put together. The ambient music and the graphics really complement the game's theme and message. Gotta go deal with some existential dread now...
Wow, this probably impacts many people. Especially when we worked so hard for this jam and then play this game, it makes you think why we are doing all of this.
Thanks for bringing us back to reality for a moment.
This game made my blood run cold, makes you think! It's was hard too!
Really enjoyed the message! Good experience, my first 5/5 rating
First impressions are important. The game page has a description and screenshots, that's good. The custom loading logo is nice, but after that I was stuck on a black screen for a while, and it made me wonder if the game was frozen. I think the menu logo would look good with jagged edges instead of a square. This applies to all the images. However, I still liked the style. The picture is blinking, is it intended or is it a lag? It's annoying. The button lacks animation, like all other buttons. Sometimes they don't click the first time, which is a bit annoying too.
Well, the game. The game over screen is pretty nice. Yeah, that's the first thing I saw pretty quickly. To get attention, it wouldn't hurt to let the player win easily a couple of times, gradually increase the difficulty. High difficulty at the start is a very common trouble. I didn't have time to read the text, so it took several attempts to understand what the game wanted from me before I knew it.
The game started lagging a lot in the second week. I figured out the logic, but it was hard because of the lagging buttons that didn't want to be pressed. For the third week I just randomly pressed buttons because I didn't understand the rules. Since this mechanic worked, I didn't bother to figure out how to play properly. The lags became extreme, sometimes I had to wait until the game unfroze.
What interested me the most were the dialogues. This is the best part of the game. But UI needs to be reworked, it's so-so now. This psychological simulator concept deserves better implementation. But I don't want to say that the game is bad. It's good enough to play it once. I got to the end.
Since you asked for a detailed review, I hope this didn't upset you.
Thank you for the detailed review. What do you mean by the picture blinking? Are you referring to the title card? You're the first person to mention that. It has a slight floating animation but that's it. The blinking could be due to lag but IDK.
Speaking of lag, I discovered that during the 48h window. I really, truly thought I had fixed it. Sorry about that. I have no idea what could be causing it now.
I tried to find somebody to help with the UI but unfortunately I ended up having to quickly make everything myself during the final day or two of the jam. This is also why the buttons have no animations, there was no time. I have next to no experience with UI design but I tried my best.
Thanks for playing!

Summary: Overall I like the direction that the narrative was going with. I could easily see the vision that was in place for the game and the theme. I liked the intensity of the choices picked. I felt the buildup pretty well in the game. The sound design was jarring in a good way to help with the atmosphere.
What could improve:
- Ui consistency within the game.
- Better UI responsive feedback for indication of which is the active label for clarity.
- Sound setting slider.
- Slow pacing of text and provide more calmer music.
What I'd like to see post jam:
- More takes on other perspectives.
- Intrusive thought words pop-up distractions. (immersive experience)
- Calendar system continuation.
Love the concept. Being able to do whatever I wanted on that final section really hit home. Great job being able to get an emotional hit out of such a short and simple game. Also, a very unique interpretation of the them. One thing I would have liked to see was some sort of positive feedback when the correct button was hit, because there were times when I would hit a button and (I assume), the old task was replaced with a new but identical task, so it wasn't immediately clear that it had been replaced at all - although I guess that just adds to the stress.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, the new incoming tasks originally had a sliding-in animation that was much more readable, but in the midst of bugfixing I removed them all out of frustration and concerns that they were part of the problem. But in theory, they really shouldn't be? Something to consider after the jam.
Thanks for playing!
