Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback!
- I honestly think I just got lucky finding a satisfying fire sound. Took me a while, but I finally found one that just sounded right. I linked it on the game page
- Thanks! Yeah after making the main wind mechanic I was on the fence about having the player be a hero/villain, and eventually figured being a villain sounded more novel and satisfying. Glad you liked it!
- Holy cow I have no idea how your bf got such a high score, great job! I think my max was like 500k
I like that idea. I’m currently exploring the idea of either a post-jam update or (maybe?) a full game down the line, and that’s something I’ll have to consider. I feel like it was a novel game with a lot of potential, but that I didn’t really reach that full potential this jam
Good art direction and vibes, easy to understand and fun game loop. I think having art on the cards would have helped make them more easily recognizable, especially since there is a speed element to the game and I found myself often having to re-read the cards to remember which one was which, but I understand that would have been hard to do during the jam. Great job
As soon as I saw someone else made a fire game, I had to try it. I like the concept and the audio, but like other comments suggest, I think some work on balancing would go a long way. For such a cozy looking game, it felt quite difficult and I'm not sure if that was the intent, mostly because of how expensive things were.
I haven't reached Earth yet. I died on the third planet I found, but I did successfully complete several jobs. I think the most fun part for me was flying in the ship and exploring. I found some of the text options during dialogue hard to click for some reason, so that made parts of the experiences on the planets less enjoyable.
