Hi, the gravity switching concept is nice but unfortunately I found the activation and deactivation of this feature to be unclear and unreliable, it would be great if you could update the game and add some UI or feedback that indicates gravity can be switched.
Also there's a potential trigger issue, during level 4 (which is actually level 3 I think) after failing towards the start I somehow got sent to another level.
Oh and I just read on your profile that you're just 11 - if that's true big congrats on doing this in a week at your age !
getting sent to another level in level 4 never heard of that and ui will hopefully come sometime soon but I’m currently working on a couch co op game wheree corgis fight :)
A nice little simple game, unfortunately it does have quite bad performance on my device but besides that the game felt decent to control and looked nice!
sorry I’m going to optimize it after the game files are unlocked because of the jam
I forgot to follow you! Following now! I would love to see more from this project, so keep up the good work!
Thanks im going to update it after the jam is over looking forward to your feedback :)
Nice game, especially since its your first game! Some feedback though:
-maybe add some text at the start showing what button you press for the gravity mechanic because I got stuck not knowing how I would get up to that high platform for a while,
-also, maybe make it so that you can change you velocity more when you jump and your in the air, just to make the platforming more precise.
But just me being picky, it was a cool experiance and the visuals, atmosphere and music fit together really well, keep it up!
When it first lets you use the gravity switch in the tutorial it tells you and in my next update I’m going to make a higher jump thanks :)
Oh, it must be just me that missed it!
nah its not :) lots of people skip my tutorial
Made halfway through the second level so far. I am not practiced at parcour games but love them. This has a good balance between challenge and defeat. The gravity mechanic adds an interesting puzzle element. Definitely going back to this.
:)
Thanks!!!
Good game! What I enjoyed the most was the inverted gravity mechanic. It's a great idea, and I think you should base the entire concept around it, maybe even add left and right gravity to walk on walls, etc.
Sometimes, right-click has trouble working properly, especially when pressing other inputs at the same time. Also, you can skip entire levels by just flying around while spamming right-click.
However, the game is fun and has a solid concept, so great submission!
Thanks for the feedback I’m not adding left and right gravity flips because I’m going to add wall running and I agree while not fully basing my game on gravity swapping I could use it a bit more :)
That's pretty good! The main gameplay loop is fun, it has lots of potential for fun skips, I had a good time. Would love to see this concept explored further with a stronger presentation!
Nice and fun! The controls are a bit jankey and I didn't understand what made me go up and how to stop it. But it's very impressive for 11, and if you made this in 1 week, can't wait to know what you can make in more!!
thanks im working on a couch co-op fighting game with corgis
This was very fun. I like a good platformer, and I felt that the handling felt really polished. The gravity flipping mechanic is proper good. Great job to the dev who made this. Would love to see more of this game in the future.
thanks I just started game dev cuz when I was younger I would watch a lot of Dani so I wanted to make games too and when I saw a game jam I thought it would be fun to figure it out :)
Well you are doing great. This is my first game jam as well. And I am just now a year into game development. I think entering a game jam like this really helps with workflow and also getting genuine feedback from others.
The controller felt nice, well done on this and level design was good, as others said, the game lacked a bit of communication as it took some time to figure it out what to do and it broke the flow!
I’m planning future updates to make it all better:)
Wow what a cool game! The gravity flipping was surprisingly good. Amazing job!
That was a fun parkour platforming game! I would love to see some knockback force maybe from shooting so you can do some quick movements with that but it was still very fun!
One thing I noticed is that there isn't a cooldown to the gravity flipping so you can technically just fly through the levels.
But overall, a fun game!
Really nice concept! Really enjoyed the gravity flipping. Nice game!
Very good for being your first game ever! Best of luck!
Like it! Mechanics are very good
Good mechanics, well done!
The game was really fun to play, I don't know if this just me, but I felt confused sometimes of when to use the gravity flipper as some areas have it while others doesn't. I just want there to be a clearer indicator of when I could use that ability, but that's just me. Anyway, the game was very enjoyable.
yep I’m planning to add that in a future update
Really cool game! I feel like increasing the air control in the character movement will greatly enhance the game. Nice gravity-flipping mechanic as well. Great work!
I already have that for my next update coming soon :)
Excellent work. Keep it up!
I liked the gravity flipping mechanics, well done!
thx
Got Portal 2 vibes. Cheated with gravity the whole way to the last level and got stuck on pillars. You've got me there, nice trick to make easier path away from main goal. The graphics are simple, but that skybox and dark blue color brings atmosphere.
