One of my favourite games this jam! The plague doctor and all the characters were so cute and imaginative (curing death himself haha!), the mechanics worked well with a good balance of difficulty, the items were fun to acquire... honestly, no notes!

My cauldron exploded. :(

The music, art, and gameplay fit together really well. I found it to be immediately engaging and wanted to experience more. Great job!

  • + Cool game idea
  • ~ Maybe a tutorial would have been nice?
  • + Very nice visuals & audio, the game feels overall very polished
  • - I think that the green resource(I've forgotten its name) can be quite hard to manage, and unsatisying to play with. If it starts reaching the range 4-5 the game feels pretty much lost.
  • + I feel it fits the theme pretty well!

Congrats on the entry!

I'm surprised by the level of quality in the game! How did you manage to make all the sprites and sounds in one week, let alone code the thing?! Very good job!

Developer

Ha thank you! I lost a little bit of sleep along the way but I'm happy with the end product. Appreciate you playing!

Absolutely had a blast with all the trade offs involved. Great art as well and the characters are also very well made. I strategically saved coins to just buy the rainbow things to instantly heal death, hehe felt smart

Please play and rate my game as well, thanks!

This game totally blew me away! You have achieved a great level of quality on all fronts, you really nailed this. I really would like to see a full length game with this concept and this style. I love the pixel art style, the music, the colors, the design and the gameplay, so basically everything about it :).

I love how the game blends genres and I can see this being developed into a great roguelike where you ''deckbuild'' with different ingredients that can roll into your inventory and purchase items along the way. The twist where you heal the characters instead of defeating them is just so clever too. Massive props for the great tune too. Five stars!

Developer

Wow much appreciated! Glad you connected with the concept so much.

The brewing mechanic created a really interesting dynamic of needing to balance the three different bars. I really enjoyed it!

Really impressive work for just one person ,a very great surprise ! i loved all the ambiance of this game (the art, music ect...), and appreciate all of the characters ,especially "the death itself". really good job, you can be proud of yourself

Cute game! The UI feels very polished!

The balancing is pretty off, it's sometimes super hard not to poison someone to the max and then that makes it impossible for them to be cured because of the damage from the poison.

With more variety in the ingredients, this could definitely be a cool game I'd play to just chill for a little while, gg!

Interesting take on potion crafting with cool art but I missed the amount of challenge it pretty hard to make the cauldron explode due to little amount of risk and a lot of ingridients with 0 or -1 of '!'

Developer

Ha, thanks for playing!

This game was funnn. The quirky pixel art characters, a solid little game loop, and the chill music and the alchemist with the sunnies while he slowly poisons people was soo good xD. The volatility mechanic really hammers the theme home. And the different customer traits and potential for new ingredients gives the game room for expansion if you are interested in working on it further. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked what I was going for. Appreciate you playing and giving feedback!

A well polished and fun game. I really liked it. I'll have to get used to how to balance the sickness, healing, and cauldron stability

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked that tricky balance.
