How does the game fit the theme?
"Nothing can go wrong..." plays into the uncertainty of a situation, where you think everything will go perfectly, but in reality everything could fall apart.

In our game 'Erase the Evidence', the player must figure out how to hide all the evidence at a crime scene before time runs out. There are multiple small decisions that can be made to influence the outcome, leading to 10+ unique endings for the player to discover. Each ending highlights various mistakes or unique encounters the player might have discovered during their playthrough.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Free Assets / Plugins Used:

Plugins: Dialogue Manager plugin for Godot 4
Sound Effects: FilmCow SFX, FreeSound, Pixabay
Music: Additional background music by Abstraction
Shaders: GodotShaders

(Some code reused from previous game projects.)

Others have already pointed out a lot of things I agree with completely, but I just wanted to really point out the art style specifically. Really nice job on this!

played and rated :) reaslly enjoyed it, took me back to my old days as a mafia clean up guy...

nicely polished and fun game, really nice visuals and the audio/voice acting was very cool, my only complaint is the window guy was a little annoying, a lot of trial and error in figuring out what to do about him

Fun game! I like the simple gameplay, and find it really funny seeing all the different outcomes. The art is great (and super fun playing the legacy art version too), and the sound choice is fitting. There is an achievement system too, which is extremely rare for a jam game. I managed to get all achievements in the end, and it was extremely fun. Well done!

There is not much for me to criticise as this is quite a polished game, but I'd say it's quite easy for me to misclick dialogue options. I don't know why but it always happened when I tried to skip through the dialogues. Anyway, well done on making this game! I had lots of fun!

Great execution on this fun idea!

I found the sink thing with the gun totally by accident, I guess reading books pays off!

Well done. I played a bunch of times until I finally got away. Some interesting red herrings, or maybe leads I couldn't uncover.

Great writing. Great audio.

Very fun and creative! I really enjoyed it, and it was pretty funny too. You might want to polish the menus since they feel a bit messy, but other than that, great job! The achievements were a great idea, they kept me coming back to replay the game multiple times!

Nice game! I didn't expect to drink the blood lol. I gathered the evidence and walked out the front door and got caught :)

Cool concept and I like the flavor text. I'm impressed you got achievements in there! Great job!

Your game reminds me of a Flash game called Incriminati, one of my favorites! I love the idea, the dialogue, the achievements, and the puzzle aspect too.

I think you should choose the music yourself or randomise the song list if you feel the tracks fit the game but can't decide which one to use.

Such a good take on the theme!

Very cool art game, I really like the style you went for, the fast paced jazzy music is very fitting. It gives a sense of urgency while also creating a feeling of not taking the dilemma too seriously.

Here are some points on improvement I noted:

  • The music is a bit too loud on standard setting, the starting dialog is hard to hear.
  • Leave out the main menu options for music, etc. You are the game developer and you decide what to use, be confident here and develop your own game style :)
  • Sometimes it feels maybe a bit too frustrating. Design the game in a way where you can make smaller mistakes and still be able to win. You want the player to feel good after all, right?
  • Design the interface (dialog / buttons) in a similar art style as the game. This makes it look much more professional.

What I especially liked about your game:

  • Story writing and art / game style.
  • The humor that was used in the game.
  • The main menu.

Overall a very well made project, lots of effort and thinking put into it. I really liked it and had much fun playing :)

This is a very well made game, polished to the last minute detail. You even put achievements in there which were funny. Loved the idea as well as the execution. The art is also so nicely done. Best of luck for the jam, I hope you get good results. Laughed out loud on almost all failures

Please play and rate my game as well!

This garbage disposal is insane, no wonder the man couldnt afford a toilet... or doors

Alright, I wasn't ready for this. What a great way to tell a story mixed with funky music and sounds in the right places! Epic!

I found the addition of achievements made me want to go back through the game to see all the endings. I had fun trying out all the different things.

Liked all the unique endings and finding different ways to interact with the world

Man I love the vibe of this game! Saw y'all post in the Godot Wildjam discord and had to play it. The chaotic jazz music and the writing are immaculate. The game definitely evokes a bit of a thrill with the time element. I don't really have much notes, maybe my only critique is just graphical: some of the user interface and font used could have been more better matched with the hand-drawn art / brush texturing.

At first, I didn’t get it… But then I understood the game’s logic, and it became pretty addictive to play and solve the puzzles. Nice use of the timer, but a slow reader might have some trouble. Nice game!

This game was a lot of fun! I like the kind of "12 Minutes" vibe, (I don't know if you've played that). For a week this was very impressive, the music was good, and I had fun messing around with all the different aspects. The art was all impressive, considering it was hand drawn! Would love to see expanded into a bigger game!

Thank you! Never played that one but looks interesting :)
