You get invincibility and nothing can harm you (and unimplemented walking on water)

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Got a bit lost on what to do in the game, but driving was nice

The mechanic where you scrub away the text was nice. Cool submission!

Unique gameplay - the text interactions reminded me of the wordplay in some Interactive Fiction games.  I managed to do both of them, though I wasn't sure where to go after that.  I did the parkour bit but it seemed to dead-end.  But nice jam game, IMO.

The game looks nice from the visual POV.
However, I wasn't able to understand how to play it.
The camera wasn't rotating so I'm pretty sure I haven't seen everything I should see :(

Turns out I’m learning a lot about how web builds work as people comment about control troubles but I think I’ve figured it out. My guess is you hit enter, or space to start the game since that button is highlighted, (so it works with gamepad) but you actually need to click with the mouse so the game has focus and can properly capture the mouse, which happens when the level starts. I clearly have some infrastructure code I need to work on to manage this. Regardless, thanks for giving it a try and letting me know about the issues.

Cool game! It lags a lot when you get the invincibility power and smash items. I also got stuck in a room within 10 minutes of playing, there was no way to get out. I do like the idea though.

Developer

Sorry about the lag, I messed up my shader caching code so the first time it happens to basically freezes.

Is the room you got stuck in the pit in the castle? If so, when you drop in, you’ll find a ramp with an orb that gives you the ability to jump.

Thanks for playing and the feedback, I really appreciate it!

The room was in the castle, I accidentally jumped into it, the only thing there was a grinder/saw, if I jumped over it, I could not get high enough and just died.

A funny idea and well implemented platformer. I like the distinct areas and the  obstacles, though I found it hard sometimes to read where to go. I got the jump pickup twice. I also realized I could interact with the tables, not sure what they were for though. Maybe some visual improvements like the orbs being different colors or emitting particles could be cool. Also some music/SFX would be nice :)

Developer

No disagreements here. In retrospect, I think I should have left the terrain as the prototype texture and just changed colors for various locations and used that time for a audio and better feedback in general.

The tables are the only place where you can bring up the text to erase a word that then changes the level. Again, I really fell short of the intended feedback. Still, you got to the end (second jump was supposed to be invincibility to smash more things), thanks for giving my game a try!

Yeah managing priorities, scope and planning development is indeed not simple. Nevertheless cool game and good work. I can see the vision. I'm impressed by the inverse kinematics of the legs. Sometimes I couldn't rotate full 360 with the mouse, only with the keyboard.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. It’s funny, I accidentally left in camera rotation on they keyboard, I have it to act like the right stick on a gamepad, also handy when I develop on my laptop with a trackpad.

I’m assuming you played in browser? I belatedly realized something is off with the mouse capture, but the desktop works correctly (at least I hope!)

Congratulations on making it to the jam, it looks like it was very close haha.
I got stuck on the second floor of the castle, i got into a room (i suppose i wasnt meant to, because it was empty) and was unable to get out

Developer

Thanks for playing! FWIW you made basically made it to the end. That room is supposed to have another invincibility so you could smash your way out but instead it has bugs and yet-to-be realized dreams. I was working on it literally to the last minute.

I don't fully understand what's happening in the game, but it seems like there just wasn't enough time, right?  For some reason, after getting the jump on the top floor, I received the jump again - nothing changed. Mechanically, it plays quite well; as a template for a simple 3D platformer, it's very decent.

Developer

Indeed, time and my own very poor planning! I only had a vague notion of the story as I made it, hoping it would gel in time (it didn’t) and it’s made worse by how much temp art I left in. FWIW you successfully got to the end, that last pick up was supposed to be invincibility to then smash all the hazards and the machine powering them, which I did not actually make in. I’m glad the played well enough, I’ll be working on it post jam, hopefully into something really worth playing.

Submitted

Ah, that explains why there were two messages about unlocking the jump)) I also made a lot of mistakes because I didn't plan my time correctly)) Actually, it would be interesting to create a large tower where the player has to ascend level by level; I think it would be fun

So, I didn't understand the game that much, but I liked it overall.

Developer

Ha it’s true! I did not have a strong narrative while making it and it really shows but I’m glad you still liked it. I think I’ve finally worked out the story, hopefully I can deliver a good post-jam update.
