How does the game fit the theme?
You are a clone. You are expendable. If you die, another will take your place. Nothing can go wrong because there are infinite 'you's to continue. A game about clones and using them to solve puzzles.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used More Mountain’s Top Down Engine as a base for our game, particularly relying on their top down character controller and Cinemachine Camera controllers. We used free sfx and a free music soundtrack. All visual art assets were made from scratch.

Hey cool game!
It was a bit inconsistent with being able to walk over bodies and the bodies pressing the buttons, but otherwise it was fine. Maybe the game would have been better if it was tile-based movement?
Wish there were more levels. Great game overall!
Nice game! The graphics are charming, and the description text has some good humor. The music was also somehow relaxing, and I was almost expecting a sassy narrator to remind me how expendable I am...
I thought the puzzles and mechanics were interesting and fit well together! I did manage to find some (almost) game-breaking bugs, but I powered through and finished it. I wonder if they came from me dying a ton of times on the level with two buttons on top/bottom that you have to press in a specific order.
- Occasionally bodies would not press down the blue buttons, and even if they were pressed when I died, my body would fall and they would un-press.
- In the last level the bodies would not block the laser, especially if I died close to the left/right side where it was emitted. It seemed like having 2 bodies in the laser line was fine, but 3 bodies caused issues.
- On the spike level where you had to use the exploding body mechanic to get a corpse (nice puzzle design!) the spike pits glitched and I would die on them even if there was a body there already. I realized if I died to the explosion then pushed the body onto the spike, I could move over it again. I was also getting 2-3 bodies exploding every time I died, too.
- The game ran pretty bad in full-screen, but at regular size it was smooth (Firefox).
I think the game was really nice... I probably wouldn't have tried to puzzle through the bugs if it wasn't!
Great idea, very complex and well though out puzzle game!! Love the mechanics. I found some bugs in the level with two buttons, I piled corpes on top but they didn't swich.
I thought I saw a game that is similar to this to kill your clone but that one was on the side angle. Congrats on the game. Good job.
Very cool and unique mechanic! Reminded me of ants that build bridges using just sheer numbers. The timer on the dead clones was also a nice way to make it a bit more challenging. Nice job on this!
Nice mechanic and gameplay. Please consider taking a look at your code again tho, the performance (in multiple browsers) is horrible.
very interesting puzzle game, great design for the gameplay, game mechanics and level, it is quite fun and unique
It's a nice little puzzle game! Loved it! It's been a while since I've played a "for the greater good" type puzzle game, and it's always a blast playing one. Good job on that! The graphics are cute, the puzzles are well-designed and easy to understand. The difficulty gradually increases with the levels, slowly teaching the player new mechanics one by one. This is very nice!
The biggest issue I ran into while playing the game is that one of the levels (two buttons with two lasers and a large pit) is bugged for me, that the corpse doesn't count as stepping on a button if moved in and died too fast. Not sure why that happened, and I am quite confused that the level exit doesn't work. The laser blocking system is also a bit strange too and sometimes the corpse doesn't block one correctly even if it's in the right space.
But besides the bugs, the game is generally very nice and I like it quite a lot. Good job!
Loved the idea, only issue i've got is the collisions, sometimes my character would die when walking through a corpse bridge, other times a dead body didn't activate a button, I think more forgiving hitboxes would make the game better. Besides that I've really enjoyed the game
