Such a fun game, I loved the presentation and music :) really stands out from all other games, great game jam game!

Brilliant game! If your game is fun enough to get me to have a second try at it, then you've done a great job in my eyes! I love the mechanics of this game; it's much more interesting than just a standard kart racer, with the property purchasing, and that idea works surprisingly well for a racing game too! I liked that you could still buy properties off your opponents as well, it made the first playthrough a lot easier once I figured out what I was doing a bit more. The variety in properties was also great to see - it would've been great to be able to tell what each one did at more of a glance, but they still all felt useful to purchase! The physics of the game were also very fun to play around with, especially once I got used to the floatier feeling of the game, and those speed boost ramps were great fun to go flying off of. I loved the graphics, the combination pixel art/3D look is always nice to see and the dice theme was worked with well in both the gameplay and graphics! The only thing is that the properties looked a little out of place, but it was still easy to tell them apart from everything else, so that wasn't too big of a deal. Well done on making this game in 48 hours, that's an impressive feat!

Fantastic use of theme. Mixing monopoly with Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing is genius. The 2d mixed with 3d art and music are great. The game controls amazingly. The AI racers are smart. You should absolutely expand this into a full game with more tracks, power ups, karts, and characters. Also adding other types of things you could buy during the race would be cool. Amazing job.

This was really fun to play! =D Sure, it has the Mario Kart syndrome where you can't stay at the first place for too long before being attacked from everywhere, and the physics is a bit wacky… But it's just a blast to play and mess around. I'm still not sure how the jump and slide mechanics work, I just used them instinctively to gain speed, and it feels great. Not sure either about the effect of the dice on the items, or what effect buying a property really had, it added to the chaos in a wonderful way. Surprising mix between Mario Kart and Monopoly by the way, I find the concept of owning obstacles in the track very interesting! Not sure if it works perfectly here, but the game is again fun to play, so it might means yes?

On top of that, the visuals are really cute, I love that retro mix of 2D and 3D. And the music fits the action just well. Really, the game feels chaotic and buggy at times, but it's a pure joy to control. I hope you had as much fun making it as I had playing it!

Definitely a 5 for uniqueness this Jam. It is a shame the controls are a bit floaty - but I think that's understandable for a 48 hour Jam. But there is plenty of other cool ideas that I can imagine could be a good foundation for an interesting racer.

For example, there have been games were collecting the same power up multiple times in a row upgrades it (Diddy Kong) but your element of randomness adds a Risk/Reward. I'd think it would be even better if there were just "Upgrade Pads" around the map to allow rolling your current held item more often to bring this element to the forefront more.

The purchase of sections of the Map is a unique addition I haven't seen before either. It give me a good reason to get coins. My only suggestion would be to have the Purchase Area separated from the Benefit Area so that I can use it immediately after I buy it rather than having to wait a lap. Also, instead of having things pop up and down, maybe just let the owner use the bonus by themselves. For example, you could just have secret paths with barriers that are only passable to the owner or have boosters on the ground that only activate to your player. That might be easier.

This game has really got me thinking. So Kudos and good luck with getting on the GMTK Winners Reel.

Beautiful old school racer, with a lot of creativity. The controls are a little floaty, but I really enjoyed it!

Easily one of my favorite games that I've played so far in the jam, nice job!

One of the most astonishing visuals in this game jam! The gameplay was wild; I felt like playing a mixture of monopoly and Mario Kart. Awesome what you were able to do

Very impressive game! Loved it.

Great game, really impressive for a 48 hour game jam

Really great game and an interesting concept. The art looked great aswell and fitted in well with the rest of the game. The properties were interesting but it didn't really feel like they had an impact of the results of the race and also when you owned them you could still get slowed down by them. The controls were also a little weird but once i'd played it for a little I started to get used to them. Overall a really great game, well done!

Really impressive that you were able to make a racing game within the jams theme and time constraints, let alone one full of features. Really great work.

First racing game I've seen in this jam. And what a blast it was! The bouncy physics were a bit chaotic which actually just added to the fun. Very interesting idea being able to buy properties and gain advantages in the next lap. Good job!

Wooww!! I loved the combination of pixel art with 3D. Really cool! Congrats!

I'm not good at Mario Kart type game, but I got a fun!

What I liked?

- The usage of the Dice with the powers is really great, when I had the missile, I hoped each time to have 6

- The art direction is really great, especially the Dice trees, I felt that I was in a Diceworld

Other comments:

- I would have liked a Kart engine SFX to feel a bit more my Kart

- It would have been nice to have a sort of drift mechanic

Overall great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the feedback! You can sort of drift if you hold jump and left or right at the same time, it increases your speed and turning. It's not got much use but good if you need a sharper turn.

Submitted(+1)

Indeed, I saw this technique in game, which was satisfying, but I think that just me, I wanted some drifting on ground. But, I have to admit that using a ramp + jumping was really fun, I felt like I was flying.

Wow! Racing! I was waiting for someone to do this and here we are :D

Such a great job, I really love it!)

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we really wanted to try a racing game this time :)

So cute! Love the pixel art for this so much! The other racers put up a good challenge. You did an amazing job with this :D

Pretty cool little racer you have here. I liked the jump although it felt like I was going much faster in the air. In the end I ended up jumping around the track rather than driving. It was still really fun to do though!

Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Haha yeah it relies heavily on physics forces, so moving forwards is easier in the air because there's no friction holding you back, bit broken  but unintended xD Thanks for playing!

Interesting that compared to Mario Kart, instead of rolling for the type of power-up, you get to roll for the strength of the power-up. However, I think adding property might have been a bit much, and it seems to have left the actual steering controls lacking, giving the game more of an incomplete feel.

Developer

See I was thinking I needed even more property mechanics in there!
