Great presentation and wonderful idea implementing the leaderboard as a way to get some replay-ability out of the game. I had some trouble being able to swap my dice number so I think I missed out on a lot of gameplay elements and even with that I still had fun trying multiple times to try to make the leaderboards which is a great sign. The art and music were great and overall an awesome project!

That was a fun game! I tried to get onto the leaderboards, but others were simply a lot better at this game than I was. Nice job on that leaderboard btw, getting that into a game jam. Impressive!

Developer(+1)

Haha, thanks. It was a last minute thing, but glad we got it in.

Incredible game, the music and art were just top notch, and the gameplay was well done and fun with a really cool risk v reward mechanic! I wish there were some powerups to make each run more varied, but that's just me being nitpicky. Amazing job!

Developer(+1)

Hopefully we might touch up on the game a bit and add such things.

The presentation and concept were outstanding! The art, music, and theme implementation were all great as well! Nice work!

Spectacular presentation given that it was just made in 48 hours. I also particularly enjoyed the fact that the bomb doesn't kill enemies, but rather toss them all around the map; this made for a particularly harrowing realization when I was on low health. A pause menu would have made the experience a little smoother.

Excellent jam game! The game is very fun itself, but the addition of a leaderboard is just great and makes me play a few time before coming here. Good job!

Brilliant idea, I love how well you integrated the theme into the game's mechanics! Being able to reroll yourself to trade off speed for power was a great feature; the randomness kept things dynamic and interesting, so I wasn't always just rolling a 6 or a 1 to maximise power or speed, and it meant the game had some good strategic moments to it. The graphics were also amazing, I'm impressed that you got the game looking so good in so little time! The different colours for each side of the dice was also a little thing, but it really helepd with readability, particularly since they were so bright, so thank you for adding that in! And the music worked really well with the environment too, I loved the Mayan theme. Nice work on getting this game done, it was a unique idea executed well!

I did not understand at first that you need to use the bomb on yourself to roll but that's a great idea! The game would need some more balancing but is interesting and the art is great, well done!

Submitted(+5)

Fantastic game! You die quite quickly but rolling to increase power of yourself and the enemies is really interesting.

Amazing!

A simple, but really fun game! The graphics are great, and the game fits into the theme perfectly. I especially like that there is a leaderboard.

I loved it ! The art is awesome and the feeling of movements is super great

This is the start of an interesting game. More health, more diverse attacks, or perhaps obstacles that could be vaulted using the bomb ... there's a lot of room for growth, here. Thank you for sharing this!

Developer(+2)

Haha we thought so too. We want to do a little more with it.

It's great idea, that that you can roll yourself by bomb, but it's not obvious on start of game)
Art and music are one of the best i see on this jam

Brilliant! love the concept, art style and music - they all mesh very well together! I suffered from not understanding the bomb like everyone else but was great fun once I had that down.

Some other thoughts I had:

- It's not clear what actions in the game give you score - can I become a 1 and just run away forever to get a highscore? Or do I need to kill the enemies. Maybe the kills icon & count could be shown on the score screen to make this clear

- The best movement pattern is usually a circular motion around the horde of enemies. I think adding powerups or something else around the map to incentivize the player to move in different directions could create some more interesting situations for the player

Developer(+1)

These are some nice ideas! We will keep note of it for the future. Thanks!

I was confused at first because I didn't understand how to play the game. I read the instructions but I couldn't understand how to roll the dice. I came here and read a bunch of comments, understand it, played it again and enjoyed it! The music at the background was repetitive so I wished there would be more variety to it. Overall I think it is really successful!
