slight visual bug?
spoiler
if the opponent turns your input device into a 37, it just says 7 instead of 37 In level 29, I decided to use an X card at 29 energy, in order to keep the card in my inventory. I assumed that would be the end of my turn, but it turns out that I could use the X card again with 0 energy, to use it as a 0 card. I assume 0 cards are a gimmick used later on in the game, but I’m not at that point yet.
After using the card, the whole board was covered in fire and the 0 stone exploded in a white flash, which I assume is intentional behaviour. However, the screen stayed completely white after the flash and the game softlocked, which I assume is not intentional.
What’s weird is that I did this in full screen mode in the web version, and when I exited full screen, the white flash disappeared and the game returned to normal. The “end turn” button had stopped working, so the only thing I could do was concede and return to the map. I tried it again, this time not in full screen, and the white flash stayed there even when I entered full screen mode, so the game was properly softlocked.
Also I was seemingly spoiled on an important part of the game, so that’s annoying
This is really good. It reminds me of Move counters that get more cursed (another game by the same creator as this) but less troll-y. Feedback: I think the level narrations should appear at the side of the levels rather than below them, as it can be annoying to scroll the text. Also, some levels like 2-1 would benefit from a restart button, or a “return to solar system” button (I don’t know why that’s only available in some levels), and I think you should be able to skip the animation at the start of every level.
Nice! It feels like it’s not really focused on the theme of the jam; the game could’ve easily been a regular platformer with levels instead of looping back to the beginning, and the main gimmick (the fact that you can’t stop the character from moving) doesn’t seem related to the theme at all. But it’s very enjoyable and hard, especially for a game made in 10 hours.
Quite fun, but hard to understand. The voiceover tutorial is not a very good idea in my opinion, as it’s a lot of information given to the player in one go, and can lead to forgetting things (for example, I forgot that you’re supposed to press the number keys to play notes, so I accidentally didn’t play anything the first round). Some sort of interactive tutorial, or something you can easily access while playing the game, would’ve been better. But I really enjoyed playing the instruments and making music!
Feedback: It’s not really clear what you’re supposed to do in this game at first. It would be cool if there was some sort of tutorial mode or something. Even after I started to get the hang of it, I still find it hard to aim in the right direction to orbit a planet perfectly; I either crash into the planet, or miss it.
