Well I'm blocked on the level 5 on 8 but you deserve your full 5 stars. Well done

Stunning visuals and really liked the attention to detail, making each and every click really pop and feel alive! The design was interesting, but I would have preferred having a bit more visibility into the queue to add some strategy element to it. Here it sometimes felt more like a puzzle game where you have to find the right solution in the shape of a card game, which is fine if that's what you went for! An undo button would have been nice as well. However really good amount of content produced, always amazed by your very distinct art style, and felt really immersed in the world in a very short amount of time. Well done!

A good game with great mechanic

Great game. In line with BTP standards

Great game. The start was a bit too easy. The boss level took me a few tries, but was satisfying to finish. Really liked the music.

Really amazing but there are some overpowered machine parts. Like try combining the healing part with the part that gives you extra energy as you take damage, you'll end up with infinite energy.

But in the later levels this is not an issue because you really need to finish the level with as few actions as possible.

Criticism - Some of the interactions between the cards allowed for a bit of cheese here and there, which made some levels super easy.  Also, the last level was an absolute nightmare, and while it was interesting design it was way more stressful than it needed to be and took way to much time to finish.  I think adding an undo button would've helped this game immensely.

Support - The art direction was amazing, like always, and the story really helped tie the theme into the gameplay.

Exactly the kind of polished, juicy game we'd expect from you! The mechanics are interesting, and the puzzle design is well thought out.

I think it'd benefit from a slightly longer tutorial, if you could possibly figure out a way of breaking each aspect of the game's systems down step by step. I caught on after a few failed attempts of just clicking around, anyway, so it holds up pretty well without the additional help.

Played this game for quite a while, I absolutely love the visuals and the game feel you managed to implement. This is an idea that I haven't every really seen and the puzzles are great to try and complete. took me some time to complete the first level but afterwards I fully understood what I was doing. The begging tutorial did help a lot, so that's great that you managed to implement that ! Overall is an awesome and amazing game that I would recommend anyone to play once again just stunning visuals

I love it! I like games where I really have to put my head around and think hard to find the solution. And really original idea!
As expected, the art was just amazing! And as a quick message to you, thousands of thanks for the jam, and for giving me the opportunity to learn how to make games, I have 3 of your courses and they are awesome!!

A wonderful entry that really got me stuck into. Great realisation as for just a week game jam. But lemme get to some criticism :)

Theme:

I like that you've touched the theme in several different aspects: plotwise (factories influence on planet), gameplay wise (removing factories has some influence on what's happening in the game) and prob even more that I would need to think about :)

Visuals:

Oh you did a great job as always, maybe even better this time. I love how you tried much more detailed attempt this time which gave a really professional effect. Game is really well juiced (loved that explosion sound and particles on button interaction :P)  as everything here is interactable, background is alive (those little people wandering around, clouds making a beautiful landscape). Really hard to point anything out. If I were to advice anything, maybe it would be a nice idea to change color pallete at the ending a bit to sth more natural/clean (green/blueish etc maybe with some parts of orange you did earlier, to indicate that even tho we cleared up factories there is still some influence it did to the world) to indicate that we really helped the world by destroying those factories.

Innovation:

I've loved the idea with the cards and that's something I have never seen before. Mostly in card games, your cards have an influence on something else, like an object on map etc or enemies cards, but I don't really remember any game that makes you actually manage your own deck and destroy it :P

It's a solid game for steam, especially that it just needs more content and maybe some more complex opening/ending to be a proper steam game (apart from that, perfect).

SFX:

Sounds are very clean and well fit (as mentioned before, I just love that explosion sound :P), music is great, but I suppose it would be good if it differed on different parts of the game, especially with story telling (starting depressingly, playing with what you provided (sad, but motivational) and end up with calmer, but slightly positive, or sth like that). Different music for opening, game itself and definitely ending (no music change here gives no feedback to player, like I didnt really feel like I did something), ofc I know that it's a game jam game so it's not easy to fit all of that during that time period, just trying to point out some things that might be helpful if you were trying to work on it later on ;)

Gameplay:

Truly enjoyable, well introduced (love the hints that you gave, beautifully done), amount of levels is perfect for game jam (would need much more for steam tho. Would be good if they could be in like separate bioms, as it could give some more artistic variation (winter, desert, this biom etc). As I suppose that at that point entire planet is covered with factories :P ).

I love the fact that it's really creative and requires a lot of creativity from you (you can beat some levels in different ways).

Difficulty level is almost perfect, game isn't too hard till several last levels (lvl5 and last were tricky for me), but they are possible and game got me into enough that I've beaten it to the end (which doesn't happen quite often on gamejams).

Design:

You did that wonderfully. Leading the player enoughly to understand all the mechanics and leaving a lot of space for creativity, that's not really easy to do. Also game really feels like it's living and that;s also very important. Maybe just plot-wise it would be good to work a bit on, but apart from that - jam masterpiece!

Thank you for creating it and giving me a lot of joy playing!

Keep up the amazing work.

PS: Oh and I missed the 'Back' button on last level when I were to build those factories. Had to restart level several times because I couldn't go back :P

absolutely stunning. Great game mechanics. Love the puzzles. nice story too. you are seriously talented.

As always the art is awesome!! It's a really interesting idea for a puzzle game too, although I don't think I'm all that good at it lol. And the sound and particle effects are so crunchy they make it incredibly engaging to play.

Thanks a lot for hosting this jam btw, I've had an amazing time and learnt absolutely tons in the process!

NIce game!

As expected, this game is overall pretty fantastic! The visuals are gorgeous, the polish is actually just ridiculous, and the idea of using machine parts to destroy machine parts can create some really cool puzzles.

However there was one design choice I really didn't agree with: the queue. When playing a puzzler personally I like to see the whole puzzle at all times. The queue does the opposite of that. In some levels I found myself just trying to spend all of my energy dequeuing to actually see the whole puzzle. In my opinion the game should of just had more space for cards on the table. I definitely could understand this more if the game was a rogue-lite, but not if it's a puzzler with hand-crafted levels.

Sometimes I find your art style a little bit too much but you nailed it in this game. The overall look is just impressing and very polished (including animations). I always like it that you incorporate story into game jams. Great job Noa and thaks for the jam :)

kinda like slay the spire, but you're trying to destroy your own deck. pretty fun puzzle game.
