I think my skill in this game has improved as I play, and would improve more if I continued. It's a challenging arcadey game. At the start, I didn't understand all of the mechanics, such as how the guards noticed you only when facing you, and how the scientists replenished your health (edit: the tutorial was ignored...).
Like JUSTCAMH said, I kept trying to use the arrow keys to move left and right. It would be fine if I built muscle memory, but it was just difficult as my first time playing.
The pace was definitely frantic, and I might have appreciated a couple more lives, as long as it doesn't make it too easy. I would be less paranoid about dying and more focused on the offensive.
Different difficulties might be interesting, changing the spawn rate, damage dealt, and life count.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to the boss, but I'll have to try later when I have more time :)
The audio and graphics both worked really well.
Awesome submission!

This is an awesome little game, I'm glad I slipped in for a last minute rate! The main thing that I had trouble with was the dash, I wanted to use the arrows to dash left and right since it made sense spatially. X also makes sense, but when I'm in the heat of the moment, I always seem to use the arrows to dash, and end up firing instead of moving. Another thing to probably fix; pressing escape in the tutorial somehow crashed my computer... Dunno why, possibly due to escape simultaneously being the command to exit fullscreen AND return to title?
Anyway, the game is really fun, and it'd be awesome to have extra variation like bosses. Random thought; it'd probably be fun to have some sort of procedural 'endless mode', where you can climb up a never ending tower rescuing people, and overcoming lots of procedural goodness. But I could also imagine bosses being a ton of fun! I love the art style in this one, the monochrome palette + red and yellow is so striking. Everything was super responsive, and all round it was a nicely polished game. Well done, I look forward to your future updates!
Thank you man :). It means a lot coming from you. I'll definitely think of more for this game. An endless mode seems like a nice idea actually. It would work with this style of gameplay. I'll do what I can. Wrt bosses I need to design some which actually force you to make use of your movement system. So that will take some thought.
Either way, thank you for trying out the game :)
Pretty fun game with a unique concept, lot of potential as an arcade style time killer, very polished. Really liked the different weapons too. Only issue was it was a bit too challenging for me personally, I found that sometimes too many civillians spawned for me to save and the enemy bullets might travel a bit too fast, but that's just personal preference, I'm sure some people prefer the high challenge :)
Thank you for playing man :). The civilians were only to regain health. You actually don't really need to save them otherwise other than to increase your combo. And yeah, a lot of people feel the game is a little too hard XD. I'm going to be releasing a post-jam version for pc and mobile after the jam though. It's going to be comparitively more easier and balanced. Thank you for playing and for your feedback :)
Ah, didn't realise they were just for health, in that case the spawn rate for them is probably good. That does remind me of some other feedback I forgot to add, the tutorial page you made was a bit too visually busy, I'd maybe seperate it onto multiple pages so it's not a visual overload :) It's a really fun game though, and I enjoyed playing, good job!
Nice idea and a fun game. Very original! It was a bit hard to play on my german keyboard because z and y are switched compared to english ones. None the less a nice experience.
The fact that the gun you use changes with every kill makes this game a really fun shooter, and some of the guns are really funny! I mean, a goose with TNT strapped to its back? You never know what you're gonna get with these Jam games.
Wow! what a great game! i love the scientists health mechanic, as most of the arcadey games in he jam doesnt have that
I like that there was a tutorial so I could understand how to play.
Nice job
Because I wasn't able to give you your 69th rating, I'm evil and ruined it >:)
All the different types of ammo are fun to use. I like the chicken ammo the most! It's difficult but enticing to keep on trying over and over! I hardly got any better though. Guess I suck. Let me try again :)
Good game!
Challenging game.
The constantly-changing gun is hilarious.
I'd add some i-frames after you get hit however, as it's very easy to get killed by a single enemy, for me at least (I fail).
Really fun!
Really solid game and a lot of fun! The only comment I'd have is that it's a bit confusing at first just because the mechanics are a bit frantic, but that could also be considered gameplay, and keep in mind I'm not the best gamer out there. Wonderful endless feel. Good work!
Tight twitchy gameplay, was a little confused by the left/right keys though as sometimes it would move to the other side and other times would shoot. Enemy bullets are kind of unforgiving though. Game encourages camping at the top side (so you don't get them doing the jump on you). Enjoyed the varying weapons.
Thank you for playing man :). Actually the left and right arrow keys were not supposed to work. Z and X were the keys I actually assigned for shooting and moving through the building. I had forgotten to remove the left and right arrow keys. I'll be doing that in a post-jam update. Either way, thank you for playing and for feedback :)
longest combo 27, highest score 670, I am proud of myself. Great arcady feel, like it.
