Cool visuals, fitting sounds, simple gameplay,...very nice. I really like it and even gave it several tries t obeat, what i don't do often in jams :D

But in my opinion you missed the theme, becaus you say the char dies with honor, but in the next level you play again as the same char. So technically you have won the fight ;)
It would have fitted way better if you put a small story aroudn it, with a samurai clan for example, and every guy you play is another dude of the clan who wants to achieve honor for the clan or something like that.

But all in all a very good game, especially for this short amount of time.

Thanks for the awesome feedback! I was thinking about adding more story, but I thought of it more as a lone samurai type thing where a god/spirit revives you if you died with honor. But the clan idea is a good one as well! I'll consider it for updates :)

Very clean visuals, simple yet satisfyingly challenging gameplay, and an interesting incorporation of the theme. My only qualm might be that there isn't music, just SFX.

The art in this was so good and I loved the simple gameplay! Great job! Also, is it possible to get to the highest difficulty? (based on human achievable reaction times)

Haha I was wondering if someone would ask. It's set to 150ms of response time, plus the really short period while the shutter is opening. So it's technically possible if you just press down. But if you're trying to match the enemy's attack, it's basically impossible. :P

Really nice presentation, the art and sound effects are on point. Unfortunatly i couldnt get past level 7 :( I think i am too old for that shit, or i didint sleep enough the last few days, maybe both xD.

Thanks for playin! Hey level 7 is really good! As I said in other comments, I didn't playtest it enough and the last difficulties are kinda high for human response times (150ms for the last one lol)

i loved it !!! is soooo fun :) didn't quite sleep well today so my reflexes are not on point, but the game is very fun and challenging. i loved the visuals, sounds effects and most important- the gameplay! 

i find quite hard losing all honor points when perished- had like 4 or 5 honor and then lost it all in a sec, but i think is great to have that as it increases game's difficulty aswell :)

Thanks for the feedback!! I was planning on adding an ending depending on the amount of honor you get, so that might change with an update. For example you might lose 1 honor instead of all of it. That way even when you die you can still make it to the end :)

Amazing game! It really puts your reflexes to the test!

I don’t have any critique honestly, the audio and the visuals are on point. Especially the wind and the crow are a nice touch that makes the game feel much more alive. Personally I don’t have an issue with the shutter but that’s preference I guess.

I'm in love with the art direction. Coloring was great, pixel art was great, and the sound... was great! I love the delay after you attack to see what happened to the fighters, that was a nice touch.

Very solid all around! I will point out a small detail of possible improvement (everything that is left unsaid is done perfectly, visuals, sound, core loop, etc) - I was confused at first as to when I was supposed to set my stance, I thought it was before the fade to black so I was just doing nothing after the fade to black and was wondering why I couldn't see the stance the enemy was selecting. Not sure why that fade to black is there in the first place.

Thanks for the feedback!! You know what? You just solved the problem! I will remove the fade before the enemy stance, that way it will be waaay more obvious when you're supposed to press a button. I will update after rating ends! :D
