Good lucking game! I liked the S key effect and how to need to manage to find your way! The graphics are adorable and the music and sound feedback is very good. I enjoyed it very much! Congratulations! If you have a time and can check mine I will be very grateful :)

Hey, thank you so much for trying our game and i'm super glad you enjoyed it ^^
I'll be sure to check your's out as well.

The mechanics were good, and controls were nice too, my only complain is that the, somtimes, its a bit confusing to know which plataform we can jump on to.

Great job you did there

PS: if you have any time check on my game.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you for your feedback :)

Can you explain which platforms you especially had trouble recognizing? Was it always a problem or only when the glitches started taking over? (in the latter case it may be part of the design, as an added challenge to figure out what's what but I totally understand if that can be frustrating sometimes ^^)

Submitted(+1)

The plataforms that looked like pipes... the darker ones. But dont worry it was not frustrating at all.

Developer(+1)

Ah that makes total sense since they have the same value as other foreground elements but are treated as background. Thanks for the input!

The sound design was amazing! I loved how the music and theme matched :) The level design was nice as well although it gave me a hard time to pass some of the stages and I had to try it multiple times haha! I have to be honest, it took me a while to get used to the mechanics but once I got a hang of it, i was sailing off!

Nice work and well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much :) I'm a big fan of interactive music systems and try to get them into most games I work on. I'm glad it worked for you.

It's a pretty hard game for sure and can have a bit of a steep learning curve ^^ For a longer game, we should probably stretch that out a fair bit more.

Submitted(+1)

yeah and also develop a further story! One day I hope to be able to create interactive music systems too! Best of luck with your future projects Yan! Cant wait to see more!

Developer(+1)

We're currently discussing as a team what we want to do with it if we develop it further. I definitely want to expand on the narrative aspect since I have some ideas already.

Submitted(+1)

Oh thats amazing! Best of luck hope it all works out! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you <3

Excellent game.
I loved it ! Good art design, good SFX, the mechanic with the buggy platform was on point and so good. Well done.

Developer

Thank you so much :) I'm glad you liked my art (and even the sound although that was super rushed and sort of half-finished in some places ^^)

Submitted(+2)

I'm a big fan of the glitch-platform mechanic and the sound it makes. Overall the game is great, I loved the visuals and all the mechanics.

Developer

Thank you very much. We get a lot of positive feedback on this mechanic which makes me quite happy :)

Submitted(+2)

Very very well made game!! The mechanics worked well and felt really smooth! I loved running and launching myself backwards to do platforming which was honestly really sick! I really enjoyed it!!

Developer

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed our game. Once you figure out how they work you can combine those two mechanics to do some pretty cool stunts, yeah :D

Submitted(+2)

metroidvania, hell yeah. You get rated high just because of that alone. And everything else just makes it a 5/5 for me

If you want to try my game out it's right here

Developer

Thank you so much! I love metroidvanias too :)

Good job, love that sprites changes then you die. The only problem with it is, it can be hard to see what is a platform, and what isn't.

A good use of the mechanics, with the spawned platform and the boost.

I have some small thing to think abour next time:

I spawned to close to a intant dead, what i died many time then I spawned in.

The boost power feels random at times, especially in the air.

Then you save the player life, mabye make a min life they get back. I stoppede in the Add block area, because I only had one life, with maked a hard area harder.

But its a really good

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game and for your detailed feedback! It's sometimes intentionally obscured what some platforms are by the glitch sprite swapping system to add an additional challenge of perception and world memorization into the mix. I understand if that sort of design can be a turn-off for some people though :)

The boost power is a bit odd and there's a hidden mechanic we didn't explain very well: its knockback is stronger the faster you are. This can be used for some pretty sick maneuvers but can also screw you over, especially if you're not aware of that rule. We should definitely explain that more clearly and give the player some way to cancel extreme knockbacks.

The adblock section requires some pretty tough skill jumps at the end. More health won't save you here as the hazards at the bottom of the jumps are all instakill. Maybe we should have made that section easier for the purpose of the jam though haha

Thank you again for your valuable insights!

I liked to play more but I'm not that great with platformers and keyboard controls :( My gamepad didn't have an input for glitching so I couldn't get pass the tutorial area. Cool app regardless. ^ ^

Developer(+1)

Thank you for giving it a try! We should really add gamepad support in the future after the rating phase.

Submitted(+1)

Sounds good to me! ^ ^

Almost complete game. Really nice rework of double jump mechanic. Great job!

Small things to improve:

  • some sound effects are too loud
  • weird camera movements on death
Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We're aware of the weird camera behaviour and want to fix it in the future. The sound design was really rushed haha. Can you point me to the specific sounds that you found too loud?

Submitted(+1)

Mostly an enemy explosions. Maybe death in a glitches is loud too.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'll make them a bit quieter and the death sound should totally be replaced since it was just a placeholder we didn't manage to change in time :D

Submitted(+2)

I really love that Error Platform feature. Well made!

Greetings.

PD: The music would be more immersive if you remove the drums.

Developer

Thank you! Maybe it would be more immersive without them. I added them for that groovy feeling to motivate the player more to push on through some of the really hard sections. Thanks for your input though, really appreciate it.

Submitted(+2)

wow, I think that this is the funniest game that I've played. If it's not, it's one of them.

What a fun thing you created with just a simple platform error and a backwards dash. I loved it, and played til the end... I thing... I got a lot of error and them a black screen ahahahah

Congratulations, great game!

Developer

That sounds like the end to me! Glad you enjoyed it and got so far :) Thanks for sharing.

This seems very polished and rewarding. The gameplay was good, however, I was initially able to find a bugged-out door. Other than that, pretty responsive and fun and it looks amazing, definitely a great game. Keep up the good work!

Meanwhile, if you would like to play my entry you can do so at https://bit.ly/glitchIn

Developer

Thanks for sharing. We fixed an issue this morning that we were made aware of with one door. Maybe you found a different one? If it's still there, please let me know.

A very great game great art style great mechanic , and platforming feel nice

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+2)

Great art style, some parts of the games lack testing because i've had issues where enemy wont trigger even tho i'm just a pixel away from him making it impossible for me to pass there without losing 1 hp.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for sharing. We actually set up a few enemies this way intentionally to showcase what the glitch pulse ability can do. Once you get to that point you should have passed a terminal that gave you the ability to use the j or v key to use glitch pulse. That will let you pass without losing health.

Submitted(+2)

Really polished (if you can say so with this style :D ) and extensive game! I spent some time with it and for the most part it was challenging but not frustratingly hard - until I reached the ADblock section. I couldn't get past that whatsoever :/

I really liked the mechanics, especially the error platform and the basic enemy. Also sound and visuals, even if quite crazy and all over the place, made for a unique aesthetic. I also really enjoyed the little details you added.

One issue is that I sometimes found it difficult to distinguish platforms from other random level glitch elements. And I wasn't a huge fan of the glitch boost - it killed me much more often than actually helping me out :P

Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

This comment is a treasure trove of feedback. Thanks for touching on all of those points, and thanks for the positivity as well.

Great game! I like the little things you added. Like sometimes the spring turning into "spring not found" and stuff like that. And the platforming got surprisingly hard after a while. :D Sometimes It was hard to know what was background and where you could land, so you could the bg little darker or something like that. Other that that, great game and great music, and I would appreciate if you could play my game too :) Oh.. and is the game over when you get lot's of errors on the screen?

Developer

At the very end of the game in browser it goes gray and you cant see anything, not even the character.

Sounds like you might have made it there. good job!

Submitted(+1)

hey nice game! Awesome visuals and sounds! lots of error messages though :p

Developer

Thanks! We might have "accidentally" left in some errors ;)

(+2)

I love this game! I also hate it because it's so difficult xD

But it kept me entertained for about 2 hours first go-around. Awesome job!

Developer(+1)

Wow 2 hours! That's some dedication right there :p Respect!

The game gets really hard. I'm happy you stuck with it for so long <3

Submitted(+1)

This game is really cool! I love the glitch platform mechanic and the controls felt really nice! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to comment :) Glad you liked that mechanic. I'm also a fan of it ^^
