I had a lot of trouble understanding this game. The running around and destroying things was fun and you have some really great music and graphics. But understanding the upgrades and how it all relates was a little fuzzy. I think with some work and clarification on how to get which resources as well as what the overall goal is this could be a really amazing game. I am super impressed with how much you were able to get done in a short amount of time and I think this game has a lot of promise. Good work!

What a beautiful game. The art and the music worked really well together. The biggest drawback for me was the UI. It wasn't too difficult to understand really, but one thing that I think could have helped would be if there was a line connecting what is related. For example, in the inventory screen, the trees across the bottom of the screen correspond to all of the materials in the column above it, so having a line drawn showing that they are related to that tree specifically would have made it easier for the player to keep track of the menu and look cleaner. If that makes sense. Kind of like how a lot of games have skill trees set up.
Character design was awesome, and the level design was nice too. All in all, it was a really relaxing experience, and I could see this getting fleshed out into a full game. Awesome job, keep it up!
First off, the game looks amazing. The characters look good, but the environment is especially gorgeous, with attractive models and a luscious color palette. And watching the scenery change through the seasons is a particular treat. The game also sounds very good, and controls smoothly. A very impressive effort for such a short time span!
This is quite a complex game, and this understandably brings something of a UX/UI challenge. With the enormous number of distinct resources in this game, I had a lot of difficulty figuring out what each resource was, where it came from, and how exactly it should be used. If each resource had a name, I somehow missed it; I think that would have helped me to keep the resources straight. While the upgrade tree features some very useful upgrades, I didn't know how to collect the right resources to fulfill the requirements; I would just wander around and whack everything I saw, hoping it would yield what I needed. Some tooltips could have helped a lot, I think.
Thanks for this. The truth is we were always chasing the UI elements and they kept one step ahead of us. This game was half planned and half learned. Each time we tried it out it presented opportunities for us to take, it was fun like that but it did mean we were always trying to keep up with it. I am really looking forward to catching up with it and presenting it with a bit more clarity. So much got fixed in the time we had and I am really pleased with how much we achieved. Our main goal was to learn and that we did. Now I'd like to complete it.
Cute graphics and nice effects. Good job having a quality setting for a game jam. The music is nice. Clever implementation of the limitation. But...
I can't experience beyond the first level, as my screen is too tall. The fullscreen cuts off the edges, so I can only pay for 2 things in the shop, and I can't read the tutorial.
Very nice use of the focus and the game was fun too! Maybe more sounds would add to the immersion.
Wow! Its amazing that it's a jam game!
Very unique gameplay and visual stile. Just astonished!
how did you guys manage to pull up something this amazing , you really did an excellent job on everything!
The music is amazing
The idea behind the game was excellent
the graphics are 100% beautiful
excellent job guys!
5/5 for everything!!!!!!!!!!
Really Impressive! I enjoyed the game loop and it was fun to run around collecting resources! The controls were a bit weird for me (I was on keyboard and I dont really have arrow keys so I had to improvise a bit), but other than that I really like the movement mechanics. I had to laugh a bit the first time I accidentally climbed a tree.
The music was on point!
Definitely a lot of potential with this game!
I also really like the game. For the time frame of a game jam a really impressive work (I know the problems of scope and no time also from my own submission).
But I personally got stuck once. When changing the map to a new one, the new one didn’t have the correct resource type to build the house (or I missed the one tree which had it) and I was unable to go back to a previous map, so probably better if you can already travel to old locations even without the house.
Should I have missed something, feel free to tell me.
This game is intresting. The concept is simple and gameplay loop is super fun. It's a pleasure when you upgrade you character. Basically you collect to o upgrade and upgrade to collect more, it's kinda addicting.
The graphic and visuals are cool, they just need a little bit of polish here and there. The music are also very cool.
What I liked most is the desing. There is a lot of stuff to work with, it looks like a demo of a complete game, a game someone would pay for.
The only other feedback not listed by others is I suggest not having esc. exit from the game. As its a common pause button and even if you know it closes it you will click it a lot overall very chill game I enjoyed the art.
What I Liked :
- Nice home page graphics
- Good looking levels
- Nice music
- Controllers support
What could be improved:
- Animate the homepage (it is beautiful so we have some expectation)
- Some tutorial introducing commands one at a time will be great. Like axe for example.
- The info panel on the left panel is overwhelming, there is always something written in it.
- Did not know where to find the correct resource I need. (I know now this is in the inventory). So perhaps use the info panel to show where to find a resource when your are on a resource of a pavement/upgrade panel.
- Add a HUD button for the inventory.
- Add some SFX
Overall I can see there is some serious work on this game. Technically, it is great, with even a save system, UI and menus, Off load growing system. For the game play, it's confusing, at first it looks like we need some crafting skill, but in fact it's more of a platforming skill.
I don't know if it helps, but I hope so.
That is quite fascinating game. I'm not sure why but I find it intriguing.
It's a bit hard to judge and rate because you said yourself you had trouble and almost couldn't finish it and stuff like the tutorial is missing, but I like the overall idea of the game.
The levels or the art style in general look really nice, although the wood theme is a bit hard to get. Maybe if the trees would look more like they were made out of wooden planks and painted or something like this it would work better.
I played it with a gamepad and the controls were fine. The character was a bit hard to control, it even shot me out of the are when hitting a rock at the wrong angle, but I had no problem running around and chopping every single tree down. The Interface although was a bit confusing. Maybe it's because there is no progress in unlocking stuff. You see a huge inventory right from the start so it's a lot to take in.
What I really like is that you simulated nature meaning the trees and bushes slowly grow and that there is persistence. I really expected to have to do everything again after closing the game and was surprised that everything was saves. Nice!
I think I unlocked all levels and played them all a bit, but I did not manage to collect all resources yet to unlock anything in the tech tree, not sure what awaits me :)
What I enjoyed was the zen like nature of the game. Ok, I can drown, but there are no enemies, at least I didn't see any, and it's just me and my axe and a lot of stuff to chop.
If you decide to finish and polish it a bit after the jam is over I would totally check it out again.
Well done!
I am pleased you noticed the save. It was a bit of a mind melt and in truth is the reason everything else is a bit rushed. We were very ambitious. If you upgrade the water your character gradually gets better at bouncing off of it. You only sink if you lose momentum once thats on. Also the wall upgrade house only actually has 2 levels. The first stops you falling off the map and you bouce off of it. The second warps you to the other wall of the map asteroids style. We will definitly fix it all up as it is not too much work to correct most of it. Just going to do my Jam duty and play and rate as many as I can before it closes. Then it's all polish baby. We did not get time to put the wolves in but I might make them too. They should be fun.
Oh, now I understood how the upgrades work. I checked it out again in the game and now I get it. Every level has a different upgrade. Level 1 is the water bounce, Level 2 the axe, and so one. I see. So you basically jump between world, collecting stuff, upgrading your character, go to another world where you can not collect stuff easier. Nice. I'll keep an eye on the post jam updates ;)
The game looks nice, but is pretty confusing. The controls aren't mentioned anywhere in the game or menus that I could see, so I just sort of had to figure it out. also the text box was way out in the corner enough that I didn't even see it for the longest time because it was small and the text even smaller, so it took a while to figure out what was going on and what my goal was.
Controls are in the settings panel in game. It has details on the games itch page as well as an apology about there being no tutorial. If you want to try again that would be great but I understand if not. Friendly tip for when you play any other entry's is to definitely visit the games itch page, it's the only place people can put info about things that are wrong with their entry's. It's the only thing I don't like about the way itch handles jam pages, is you can download, play and rate without having to go to the page. I have found important info on a few games already that has helped and for ours it is essential. It was a pretty hard last couple of days for us and the biggest regret is the tutorial which everything relies on is not in our submission.
Really Cool Game, I Didn't Really Know How To Play At First But Later The Game Felt Really Good After, I Like The Art. That All, Good Game ;P
Very nice game!
The controls are really weird and I got like a huge input delay about every minute, but the game was still pretty enjoyable.
I couldn't get any of the advanced movement set, probably because I just didn't feel the controls.
I bought the water bounce three times for example, and after the first bounce, it just didn't seem to let me move. So it didn't really help me lmao.
I liked the music, though it was a tiny bit repetitive.
I also found a bug where it would show you the "paid" text in red, and doesn't actually let me buy that row anymore, so there goes two of my dash upgrades.
And one more thing, I absolutely love that you could control everything with just the keyboard (and with a controller as well, if I can read the controls menu correctly). Not many jam games (or games in general) do that, and I prefer kb over the mouse most of the time.
Thanks for playing. All of the tutorial stuff and upgrade explainations did not make it in. We had real problems on the last 2 days. The save stuff to keep all the worlds growing when not loaded cost us in the end. I will make a post jam as most of whats needed to comunicate whats going on is not actually hard work. It just got bumped. There was literally zero game at 5 o'clock and the fact that we got it working at all was a minor miracle.
quite well made for a game made in 10 days, a bit confusing at first but a nice collecting game
really cool but kinda hard and confusing but my only complaint is that the ESC button just-auto quits the game because i keep pressing it out of instinct to close the shop and end up having to restart
