Big fan! Theres a lot here, and i gladly would have played it for longer! Fun mechanics, satisfying feels! I did find it a little jarring when activating the heater, i would have liked to "hit and run"! Very nice work overall guys. Id be proud! great submission

First off, the art here is absolutely beautiful. The pixel art is really impressive! The swing animations and general feel of the game are incredibly smooth. Other than the switches blending in a bit with the background, everything had a really distinct and crisp look.


Gameplay wise the game feels great to play with really smooth controls, though I have to say I was playing on a laptop and the track pad just doesn't quite cut it on some of the later levels. On the level where the teleporters get introduced, the last throw was nearly impossible to make. Obviously this is more my fault than yours, it was just something I wanted to mention since I wasn't quite able to beat the game lol

Loved it, really cool use of those dynamic animations following the mouse, the sound effects like the footsteps were spot on, the whole thing felt responsive and although it was short it took you through the tutorial pretty nicely

The game is well made , I liked the art the gameplay I liked  everything about this game except one thing there's clearly alot of passion and love that went into the making of the game which is enough for me to give you a solid rating 5/5 for everything well done guys :D

This is really polished and has solid gameplay. I liked the teleporter mechanic (though I initially was a bit confused because I thought it would teleport me to the other teleporter). The run-back mechanic was good too, though I would have preferred the level to change more and for the changes to be near the start of the level so that you aren't caught off-guard as soon as the heat wave starts. I wish there were some more levels, especially with the teleporters. Great animations and music. Nice work!

This is a really nice game. I liked lots but my highlight was the run back to the beginning mechanic. I was so not ready for it but it added something really nice to this platformer. Simple, neat and nice. Good job

Great game idea! 


What I liked: 

  • The character controller feels very good.
  • I like how the game wanted you to backtrack after turning the heater on, but the level changed to give you some extra challenge.
  • The double use of the wrench was a very nice touch.

Suggestions/comments:

  • I didn't quite like that levers had to be switched on only by one of the melee/ranged wrenches. In my opinion, there was no visual indication that would justify that decision. Enabling both options would open up a possibility for speedrunning the game for the ones who like the extra challenge.
  • The head spreading could've used more visual love. Everything else looks much more beautiful and polished. It just takes away from the good-looking art style.
  • The ESC button. :)

A good, fun demo with great potential to turn into something bigger.

  • The player controller was edited a lot of times to feel good.
  • The heater and the wrench were our way to apply the limitation and the theme so It is great that you liked it.
  • We didn't have enough time to actually show the player that a mechanic is only activated by melee hits, We will think of something to fix that.
  • I agree with you on this but it was mainly because of the time limit, We will try to think of something to spice the heat wave.
  • I forgot to turn off this debug button, Act like it doesn't exist xD

A wonderful game! the movement felt a little slow and I kept underestimating the range. I did like how after hitting the machine at the end the level changed up a little so you had to take a different path back. but everything is nice and I would love to see a game with more levels!

Apart from the fact that you could press 'ESC' to automatically switch to the Machine being on (Debug key I'm guessing?) quite a fun game! The back and forth aspect was interesting, although I would have liked a couple extra levels really digging into the mechanics.

Wonderfully made game! I had a lot of fun playing this. I would absolutely be interested in seeing the game built out fully. I am having a hard time thinking of anything to improve. Probably the only thing I could think of is that the font was a little hard to read for me, but that's pretty minuscule. Awesome work! If you decide to expand on it, I'd love to know about it.

I like the idea of using a wrench for different things. It works pretty well and swinging the wrench looks and sounds really good.

The idea of moving to the back of the level and than having to go back to the start under time pressure is pretty interesting. What I did not like was that when the heater is activated that you change parts of the level. I get why you do this but I think it would feel much better if the player is causing the change in the level somehow so at least you know why the level is different. Or just shake the screen and simulate and earthquake that explains why the path is different on your way back :)

Overall a nice demo that could turn into an interesting puzzle platformer.

Thanks for the feedback. The changing platforms were meant to be leaves (burn after the heater is active) and falling blocks (shows after the heater is active) but we didn't have enough time to change that.

I like the game, I think it's pretty fun for a game jam game. Maybe the theming could be switched around from a forest to some sort of factory so the stuff like teleporters and heaters would make sense. But overall nice job.

Looks and sounds really nice. The animations, in particular, are really smooth.

It is a bit odd that the player character throws the wrench, but is still holding the wrench while waiting for it to return.

Traversing each level a second time, backwards, creates an interesting contrast. The level looks perfectly familiar in reverse... but the platforming challenges are all different.

Some additional variety would have been interesting: enemies, pickups, more things to interact with.

Ollie has 2 wrenches, not one. That was mainly added to make them easier to use.
Some content was cut from the game due to the time limit like enemies but if the game got updated it will have enemies and new machines.
