good job, I like the idea but there should be some obstacles or anything else cause game seems monotonous, also I would like to listen to music)

p.s

check my game too please

The idea for implementing the theme is original (even if the there and back isn't that obvious at first, but well it doesn't affect the game at all), and the art is very nice! The gameplay itself was a little bland but very chill for a jam game, where like half tend to be unintentional rage games (like mine).

I like it!

What a chill and adorable game.  I loved it.  It was really fun to fly around the world and read the letters back to grand-dad.

The sound effects were nice - but as some other people said some chill music would really add to the experience.   Maybe you could even do music from different areas?  Would would add to the cultural collection.

Overall awesome job for the jam!

Thanks for playing! Love the idea of different music for different areas, that would really anchor the sense of place as you travel across the map.

What a lovely game! And well polished, in only needs a soundtrack in my opinion. Visuals were perfect, gameplay as well! Well done!

This was a nice game visiting some countries, although I wasn't able to finish everything it was relaxing but also quite hard. But I enjoyed it none the less.

My only remarks I could give, apart from adding some relaxing soundtrack, is that there were some tears in the map, or so it seemed, I guess it wasn't 1 consitent map or some pixel perfect problem, but due to time limit and it didn't bother that much it was a good experience :D

good job :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah the tearing was a real irritant. At first I tried to import the map in one chunk and my computer exploded, so I had to chop it into slices instead; c'est la vie!

Oh, I love this cozy game! This is the kind of unexpected, eyes-tearing-up, beautiful experience that makes me care about indie game dev. I would have enjoyed it even more if there were no lose condition and I could just float around forever but I suppose other people like games to involve skill and all that. Thank you so much for making it! If you're looking for more work to do, I'd love you to expand it to cover the entire planet and add a soundtrack featuring music from whatever region is being flown over.

Developer

Thank you so much, this comment was really lovely to read. I initially wanted to have a more simple 'free play' mode but like you said, had to cater to a more 'traditional' idea of skill-based gaming in the time provided!

So you're a flat earther??

lol JK, really cute lil game! I felt really relaxed and like the art and pictures.

Hahaha you got me! Thanks for playing :)

I love this simple game, the mini story of the boy and his grandfather is very nice. I love to travel Europe myself so this was a very nice way to see some places I have been to! I really like how you interpreted the theme, great job!

I really like the idea of controller a paper plane and send postcards from all around Europe.  The paper aesthetic really fit well with the game. Even though it is not that challenging of a game, I would still like to see a free play mode with no fuel, and just exploring. I loved reading the little messages the boy would send his grandfather. I had a good time playing, good job!

Developer

Thanks so much! Interesting to read comments about a freeplay mode, as this was my original intention but it didn't feel 'gamey' enough. Definitely something to look into implementing in the future!

I really liked the art of the game. It was neat. The controls were good but it was really frustrating to start all over again every time, so I would like to see some checkpoints.

Feel free to try my game: https://itch.io/jam/vimjam/rate/766104

Nice game, very poetic and nice to travel around the world at this time. I love the illustrations and implementation of the theme. Good work!

If possible, I would really appreciate your time to play and rate my submission.

Very heartfelt! I absolutely love the paper style and its very fun to move around the paper airplane over the map. Overall, really clever idea. Great job!

It would mean a lot if you could check out my Jam submission if you get the chance. Thanks!

I like the idea. The little storytelling addition makes it to be so much nicer experience. I didn't really fell the "there and back" theme though. With some work it could be a pretty solid game ;)
