Theme Party

Use a theme and/or limitation from one of the past 8 Bits to Infinity jams in addition to the main theme

In a Song

The game is as long as a single backing music track

If you did any of the optional challenges, explain how they were used:
It is inspired by the theme of 8 Bits to Infinity's arcade jam, "swarm" since it is an arcade game about an ant colony, and each round of the game lasts for the length of the song 'The Ants Go Marching'.

I was expecting a completely different game at first, where you only control one ant and not the whole swarm! I really enjoyed that mechanic though, it made for a thoroughly entertaining experience, imbued with charm thanks for the excellent music and sound effects. Very nice work indeed!

Awesome game! Very fun how you used the photos in the game and I legit was devastated when one of those bugs plowed through a whole line of my ants. Love the backing song by the way! That trio sounded very much like a mother and father who were all to happy to be involved in a game, and then possibly a slightly less willing brother or sister :)

It'll be nice if you check out our game too (:

From the art style to the music this whole game is just a treat. Awesome amount of features to supercharge your ants all working flawlessly. Really great idea for how you implemented your 'how to play'.
One thing that messed me up on my first run was the sucker dropping from the sky. I figured that bad boy must be worth a lot of points if I send enough ants to pick it up! 10 ants later and all I did was kill 10 poor ants haha. Great submission, cheers!

Loved the song and the way it was used in the game as a timer.  I was feely antsy about getting on that leaderboard.  Great fun game!

Clear tutorial structure, sprites that fit together, easy to understand management mechanics with a potential for chaos; Of your games that I have played, this is definitely the best one.

I don't know about the efficacy of all those upgrades, but the simple combination of "baby boom" and "double the crumbs" made me top the leaderboard with 76 colony feeding nutrition blobs. I was kinda disappointed that the leaderboard isnt shared with others - meaning I can not boast with my title of "Dino - Queen of the ants!", and I would have liked to see a timer instead of second guessing when the song would end, but there is always the next jam for improvement! :D

Lovely game! I really enjoyed playing it. Like the idea that you have to plan ahead to make sure you can get all the crumbs. It becomes really tricky once you can see how many crumbs there are. It just pushes you to get them all :)

Some awesome touches too. I chuckled when the first boot came down and squashed some of my ants. Loved the sticky lollypop too. The music really fitted the game well.

Nice tutorial and a well put together game!

I like it! I kinda accidentally missed some of the tutorial because I immediately focused on getting the crumbs... But I did make the leaderboard! The ants were also kinda hard to press / easy to miss.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The crumbs are hard to see by design so that user will want to buy the power-up that turns them blue, and the ants are hard to click by design so the user will want to buy the power-up that turns them jumbo.

Yes, I assumed it may have been because of something like that!

Fun idea, I like the way you have to strategise your next move to make sure you get all the crumbs. kudos

This was fun :D nice soundtrack and funny ant sound (sounded almost like a cat).
I even made it to the leaderboard with 35 :D
Very good tutorial screen at the beginning and all-in-all well made experience, with a trailer and all.

Good job guys!
