An awesome, yet ragefully stressful puzzle game to which I have compared to what you would get if you had The Impossible Quiz meet Portal and The Stanley Parable. Its quite gory but challenging, trying to understand how the game worked and how trolly it was was quite fun. There were moments where I was really stuck and ended up cheating slightly by watching someone else's gameplay XD.
Sadly, I didnt get to finish the game as my computer decided to give up with it. The physics are awkward to deal with, getting the cubes to co-operate which didnt help the already awkward gameplay and my PC lagging (the latter part of course cant be helped right now) .
Audio-wise, the game loses points for not having some kind of music to add to the atmosphere, but the sounds of the announcer. The deaths sounds are OK, albeit, confusing since it seems to change between each play. The reload screen saying "next" being shown in different languages was an intriguing touch, especially since it was in red font.
For The most part it was a fun game with some frustrating elements, deaths being one of them but I did enjoy playing it :)
Super Meat Portal.
Simple style with complex design and kinda haunting at the same time.
Such a cool game.
Just needs some touch and a little well placed music with different theme in the levels.
Still playing though
Whoah. How many of you guys studied art!? This thing is beautiful and evocative; in line with John Malkovich, Art School Confidential, and Nocturnal Animals. Visuals are beautiful, read some people wanted music but I think the silence adds to the suspense. Felt myself getting physically nervous walking into a new room. Puzzles are generally clever, bridge was a little frustrating but I played through to the end. Very high scores across the board. Looking forward to seeing more projects from you guys!
Great job! This game makes my smile, and I think this is the best criteria. Minimalistic design, blood, rather challenging puzzles - all as we love ^_^. And I like developers idea to take one of the main gamedsign rules, invert it, and build on it a concept of the game)) It is really unexpectable and cool decision.
Good luck for you, guys!)
Nice game, I like 1st person puzzle games like this. However, could not go very far in the game, it seems it have some bugs. 1st bug was on the room with two round spinning blades on the floor, where you have to cut the block in half. The piece you leave in the wall that goes up (that has a switch on it to open the door) disappears when the walls go up. Then it will either reappear, or disappear completely then you are forced to restart the game. If you can get past that, the next bug was in the 1st room that has a moving laser grid and acid pool, I died there and when I respawned I was under the floor and falling into endless white, then the game froze and I Was forced to force quit.
Interesting. None of our testers reported anything like this. I think I know what this is - both of those issues must be related to level streaming, as our level segments are loaded in and out of memory dynamically which is error-prone on slower systems. We can most likely patch these issues out relatively easily.
Anyway, sorry you had a poor experience! Lesson learned there.
This one is super impressive, and the puzzle design was really well done! Not much I can say that hasn't already been said, but still incredible you got this done in 2 weeks.
Nice game BUT its too white and it hurts when you are playing it.
The #1 feature are probably blood textures heh
I enjoyed my time with the Tie. With the narration and the simple but effective look it draw me in. Definetly the game with the most "Unexpected" Factor this far for me.
Great submission! Well done!
I think this is a really neat game. The world/setting is well established very early on and holds a nice tense atmosphere from start to finish, without the need for overly shocking jumps or things of that nature. The tension grows toward the end and I felt you dealt with the final act really nicely. The visuals and applause as the player ascends the corridor before their ultimate fate was bizarre and enthralling.
I'd like to make special mention of the 'company logo' and it's use on all of the doors. That logo is excellent, communicating the theme beautifully before any words are even spoken.
In terms of unexpectedness, some of the puzzles did catch me off guard, in particular the money-path (which was also the one I thought had the best narration).
Very nice job :)
This game reminds me of the Turing test and Rewind. I enjoyed playing it very much but had to stop after the room with 3 cubes and a giant pillar in the middle. Couldn't handle the motion sickness, unfortunately.
