I really enjoy the concept of controlling the speed of the things around you! It makes for really cool mechanics. That said, some jumps where I needed to control the platforms to get over holes were really hard to get through.
This mountain is so cute c:
The idea that the game brings is so euphoric, really, and the music changing accordingly to the set speed is so nice! The moving platforms killed me (a lot) when I first started, I couldn't get the timing correctly and it was one of the downsides for me: as the game goes it gets a little chaotic, you have to managed too much variables with so little time and mechanics to control (being able to move left and right would help to complete the core mechanic), but you do get used to it.
Amazing work!
The concept is really interesting !
I really like the music and the way it changes when you slow down/speed up time, the fact that you don't go faster, but rather the environment around you does is a bit confusing at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
I do feel like the moving platforms are a bit too annoying, but that might just be because I died too many times because of them in my first runs :D
Cool concept and good game !
Really cool entry!
We I first read the tutorial I kinda stopped and thought to my self "this is a weird way to phrase hit up to move faster" Then I started playing and realized what the mechanic was, and what it is, is really interesting! Lining up platforms can be a little challenging but that was fun!
Great work
I like the concept with the time shifting and the pixel art is great! Found the game to be quite challenging and if you were going to change something I feel that introducing a new mechanic the further you go could add to the enjoyment, otherwise it did get a bit stale. Nice work regardless!
This game is surprisingly hard :D I play a lots of platformers, but this one defeated me. It's great nevertheless. One thing that I don't like very much is few different pixel sizes in art, but that's my personal preference :) Well done!
Like the idea, but maybe allow the character to move back and forth as well, and force the character to move forward only by the edge of the screen. Its a bit tricky to understand the timing on things cause you are always moving and everything will be moving at different speeds
Boi or girl... this is high,...damm setting bars high for this jam
As they say there's always a room for improvement...
Nice vibe tho. cool game keep it up...
A very nice looking game the scenery look really nice and the mountains have really nice detail, however the platforming was a bit difficult having no control if our character moves or not with the auto moving platforms made a fair few parts into challenges, I wish I could complete this if it has an end but I just can't control the character very well which makes me feel I am inadequate to rate this game properly. My high score was 30 and I can't tell if that's good or bad since no one else has posted their score but I feel that's low.
Thank you for you honest review! I think the control behaves like it should, but you are right, its actually very hard to predict the players movement on the platform while changing the speed of time. However we wanted test some new game mechanics and ended up with this :) half into the jam we knew it is more about luck then skill but there was not enaugh time left to change the game idea... anyway we had a lot of fun while developing it and most of our friends actually finished it . one thing we heard more frequently was: "it drives me crazy, but i want to finish it".
we didn't had time left to implement an online leaderboard, but there are a total of 58 coins in the game, of which 16 are at the finish line. so your score is pretty good considering you did not finished it.
regarding your feeling on how to rate this: i think you don't have to finish the game in order to adequatly rate it... it just goes on raising the difficulty. moving platforms and coins is all we got :)
Nice gameplay, it is closely related to the challenge theme!
Good job!
