Sort of reminds me of a reverse mr driller.  I think the idea is neat and the game itself looks good and is fun.  Some position changes on the platforms would of been nice but the different enemies did make for  some variation.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and playing.

Yeah I tried to rando. ize the plattforms a bit but it horrably failed into aome unplayable situations...

I could have fixed with more time... but Game jam šŸ˜…

Very cool game and amazing presentation. Love the look and feel of playing an old retro handheld. Game itself is cool, character moves a bit slow but I think that is the point. I love the screen shake on landings! Gets repetitive pretty quickly only jumping back and forth, but I do love the energy concept that sort of acts like a timer on the game also! One of my faves out of this jam so far.

Developer

Thank you glad you liked it. :D

Fun little game! One little nitpick that I had personally is that I have a habit of holding down jump buttons pretty much until I land. In this game that really threw me off because it only seems to check if jump is held down and not if jump was just pressed, so I would often land from a jump and instantly jump again when  I didn't want to.

Cool to see a PICO-8 game here though! I haven't used it before (I'm all Unity most of the time) but it seems fun to use.

Oh... Thats actually part of Pico8! I used BTNP(x) which means, that it should (!) only react to Rasing etch (so actually pressing down once). What it actually does is only react once and then gets true again after some time is passed. I don't know why that is. But I might actually want to fix this somehow maybe check with an own function if X was released at least once since last jump.

Sorry :D It seems I don't have that habbit.

Thank you so much for gaming and giving feedback! this is so important for me.

Really fun little game here! The art reminded me of Dig-Dug for some reason! Which is a good thing!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! :D

A very cute, well presented little game! The concept was easy to grasp and the randomized enemies provide some good replay value. I did find myself accidentally running into enemies, only for them to drop more energy and negate the downside, which felt a little odd to me. Overall really well done!

Developer

Thank you for Feedback and playing! Yeah thats true. Have to figure out an alternative šŸ˜…. Maybe post jam.

Really classic concept, it is well executed, the music is nice and the animation of the character jumping feels really nice. Great job.

Think I'll retire at 410m. I'm proud of that. Really nice! Very simple, easy to understand, does exactly what it sets out to do.

Developer

Thank you for playing. 410m is really good :D my best is 350 or so ^^

Interesting game! Aligning your shot correctly was a bit challenging. Cool music and graphics.

Developer

The C64 style and the music are so cool! Smart move on the high contrasting colors; this game pops out. This has a lot more potential, and I am excited to see if you work on it more :)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback :D

I might remake the game in unity. Or just work on it a little more in Pico8, can't say yet

This game uses the limitation really well! It really combines the theme and limitation to create a fun arcade experience.

While it gets easier, I would second what other people are saying, it's very hard to aim shots.

thank you so much for your feedback and playing!

I know. Have to figure out yet how to  improve it '^^ (might do it post jam)

So much fun! And I love the sprites and music, really good job!

Developer

Thank you! :D

The presentation is really nice! It's really hard to aim your fireballs though and I keep dying.

Developer

^^. Yeah I know the first times I played (my own game!) were really hard :D

The game is nice and simple, and I had fun playing. Also the music was surprisingly good. My highscore is 195.

Developer

Nice Score :D. Thank you I made the music in an hour or so. The great think about Pico8 is, all tools (for making music, sprites and sfx) are included, the Tools can sometimes be a little flimsy tou ^^. Glad I was able to create a good piece of music.
