This was definitely a fun experience !

Was the resolution a challenge?
The main hurdle was not being able to add much text. We overcame this by breaking up the dialog into small one-liners and distributing the story among multiple NPCs

What did you learn?
This was the first time I made art for a game ! This was also the first time we tries an isometric view in 2D, so we had fun figuring out how things work in this view.

I love the look of the world, and the concept of having to clean up after the "hero's" mess. I think you could develop this into a fuller game. The music was really excellent.

The dialogue turned out well, although sometimes it was tough to stand in the right place when a character was moving.

Thank you so much! We had more content planned out but couldn’t finish due to time constraints

I loved the art style of the game and the atmosphere it created, along with the music. Lovely!

Thank you so much for the kind comment !

I absolutely loved the graphics! Even though the characters are 2~3 pixels, I could totally imagine them. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! That was one of the main ideas, make the player imagine themselves in the world :)

A cute little adventure game. The isometric angle worked just fine. I especially liked the terrain graphics. -oneak

ASASBDHISDA I LOVED THIS SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN-

I loved the atmosphere, the concept, everything. The lowres style only added to how awesome it was. The art? Gorgeous. The music? Beautiful.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed our effort :)

Very cool vibe. Reminds me of the low res game Sword and Sorcery.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m a huge fan on Sword and Sorcery, I wish I was half as good at art as the people that made it.

gorgeous use of the resolution restriction

Thanks a lot !

Lovely art style, the game left me feeling like there is so much more to discover in this little world you've created.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! We had planned more content but had to cut down due to time restrictions…we are planning to add more in the future :)

Thank you so much, glad you liked it!!

Minimalistic, but the art was really really on point !
Such easy taking and relaxing games are always refreshing.
Even though, I couldn't figure out what to do beside dying while trying to feed the village. Quite confusing, I'm guessing there is other endings but I can't find them for now ahah.

Anyway, well done and be proud of this little piece of art !

Developer

Thank you so much ! There really isn’t much content right now, we have some plans to add more stuff post jam :)

A very minimalist game, but entertaining, the artistic section is the strongest and the most characteristic. I have traveled all over the town and it gives the feeling that you are walking through your neighborhood. Great game ^^

Thanks a lot! I’m really happy you liked our game :)

Really nice, minimalistic, but works in this format. the maps are a thing of beauty. Reminds me of Another World in a way.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! I checked out Another World after reading your comment, and am really in love with it…I’m planning to get it on android and play it :)

No worries. I mean them. I lost so many hours to Another World, I know yours isn't a side on game, but the the environment you've crafted is what draws parallels with Another World, it's very atmospheric.

Hi everyone ! We have fixed the bug where the player was unable to interact with any other character after reaching a certain point in the map

Submitted(+1)

Excellent design to the area, I love the simplicity of the characters and magical look to the land itself. I think the sub pixels the other person was mentioning is that the letters for the dialogue generate with a tiny gap between them.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words ! We finally managed to fix the sub-pixel scaling issue, it was a misconfigured setting in Godot

My favorite part was "my wife, she dead of diabetes". The design of the environment is gorgeous, really nailed that fantasy JRPG vibe. The music was very chill too. I ran into some the same bug as others and was initially confused as to what was happening. I also noticed the resolution wasn't strictly 64x64 as there was subpixels which were tearing but I don't think it's a big deal at all haha. The text was a little hard to read as well, with no space between letters but it's so hard to get right, the letters in my game look like a toddlers haha. Very chill and would love to see where this could head in the future! I'd love it if you'd check out my game as well!

Thank you so much for the kind comments ! This was the first time I did art for a game, so i’m really excited to hear that you like it. We managed to fix the sub-pixel tearing bug, it was a mis-configured setting in Godot

You've done so much with so few pixels. I love the decision to really zoom the camera out. Unfortunately ran into the same bug, as soon as I hit E to set up shop, I stopped being able to interact with anything. Will definitely check later, good luck!

Thank you for checking our game out and we'll fix the bug as soon as the jam is over :(

I'm looking forward to the full experience! Don't be discouraged, bugs happen and you've got a great looking game here. :) Keep making games!

Hi ! We finally managed to fix the bug :)

Really loved the background environments, and the music was pretty chill. There was a bug in the gameplay once reaching a point to "setup shop" nothing else seemed to happen and NPC's became unresponsive. There was some use of sub-pixels going on, but the rest of the game fit pretty well within the resolution requirements. Great work, shame about that bug.

Hi, thank you for the lovely comment and yes, that bug was on a lack of testing on our part :(. Glad you liked and. Also could you point out where did you find use of sub-pixels ? I'm not sure about where that happens.

Submitted(+1)

That's okay, it's still a beautiful game. Subpixels are just the use of screen pixels that are not part of the main resolution grid. This means the game's total resolution is higher than 64x64. I'll attach a picture of what I'm talking about. I wouldn't worry about it too much for this jam, but I hope the feedback proves helpful in the future.

Developer

Hi ! Thanks a lot for bringing the bug to our attention. It was a mis-configured setting in Godot (we used the wrong stretch mode). We have updated the game on the site :)

I played through it again, and everything is all better. I've revised my review :) Thanks for the experience.
