The introduction and how smooth it goes into the main menu was near perfection. I liked the platformer aspect of the game. It was fun especially due to how responsive the controls were. Art and music of the game was very well done, and the narration added a nice touch to the whole experience. Reminded me a bit of Portal. Having your heart jump out was a cool mechanic.

I did notice some black flickering most of the times.

One thing I realized is that you could easily cheat in some of the puzzles. Jumping over gaps or rails. I don't know if it was intentional but I was able to jump on walls and wall-climb. Allowing me to bypass the blue barriers.

Overall, a fun 3D atmospheric platformer with a cool introduction.

Very good looking game (other than the glitch/flicker others have mentioned). The puzzles were quite easy, and in some cases I feel like I was able to just circumvent them (there were platforms I felt like I should have had to use but was able to just jump up a ledge instead).

I loved the writing and humor.

Very “Portal” feeling overall.

This game is insane, amazing job! I would have loved to see the ending you had in mind. I hope your team finishes the project at some point

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Thanks! I've promised the team that I'm not letting any of their hard work go to waste, so yes, there will definitely be more of this!

I love the idea of the heart throwing mechanic. The first couple puzzles were a good introduction to the mechanic. I would love to see it taken to the next level with more complicated problems to solve!

There was a very noticeable graphical bug that caused some clipping/flickering, but other than that, this game looks (and sounds) very polished.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Yeah, I've had quite a few people experiencing that. It seems to be caused by the fact that I imported the normal maps with the compression mode set to "Video RAM" rather than "Lossless". I'll have a patch fixing that as soon as the jam is done.

The title screen blew me away. This game is definitely professional-tier! Look forward to the full release.

Very nicely presented and excellent polish! The UI looks so professional! Although I enjoyed the ending, it's so unfortunate that you couldn't add the content you planned. Graphics and audio are spot on. Overall, with more content and greater complexity to the puzzles, this game has a huge amount of potential.

Submitted(+4)

Very polished, but unfortunately very little game! Looks good, sounds good, feels good (UI feedback and everything). I definitely would have played more :)

That said, the "puzzles" that are present are entirely linear, there is nothing to think about, throw your heart past the obstacle and run to collect it again, then continue your platforming to the key card/door. Given just the introduced mechanics, I also don't think there's much room for interesting puzzles with only the currently introduced mechanics. I understand it's an issue of time/priorities, but something like a conveyor belt or switches would allow for puzzles that require some thinking.

Then there are the options. Out of the box I feel the voice-over is too soft - I didn't even notice there was one until the third text or so! Also the mouse sensitivity at 50% is still higher than what I'm used to, so I don't entirely understand why this lower limit was set.

I think it's an amazing demo for the scope of the jam, it looks good and the narration is funny, but the core gameplay  feels mostly absent.

I felt Hyper Light Drifter, Dead Space, Portal, and Deep Rock Galactic vibes all at once. Very nice work

This is a ALL-ROUND masterpiece! What a treat. Better than Portal. Please continue to develop this! I'll greenlight, buy it, take my money!!!

Long feedback:

The intro sequence is from another planet.
Main menu is wonderful and is probably the most polished main menu I have ever seen in jam game.
Little beeps when you hover over the button give really satisfying feedback.

Game is very polished and looks like a demo to something bigger. It has Portal-like vibes with solving puzzles and narrator.

Graphics is simple and clean.  It feels like there are no unnecessary vertex, textures are pixelated which gives give old school feel and bonus point: everything works well on my laptop with iGPU.
[and there was no black artefacts on my setup]

The puzzles were pretty easy and most of them could be skipped by jumping on 45 degree edges.
Sadly game feels very short, but it takes pretty long time to finish it... I think it's because there is a lot of time where you just walk inside corridors and parts with puzzles and interesting gameplay are short.

Throwing heart mechanic is nice, but it was introduced so late into the game that I used it only 3 times and that's it.
[IMO it should be available  from the beginning and all puzzles should be build around that + this mechanic could be expanded so you can throw heart and... Do something. (Maybe press a button with it?)]

Hard to tell anything about audio.
I don't know if someone else had issue with narrator, but it was very low male voice with constant pop-like artifacts and it was hard to understand what narrator was speaking so I need to stop and read the subtitles + I can't focus on music etc.

TLDR: Game is very polished, but short and left me wanting more.

Holy freaking shit, right from the logos this one's amazing !

The atmosphere is amazing i really like the very metroid prime esque main menu theme, Graphics are super cool with the low poly pixel textured combined with high def lighting (nice of you to have put otions to turn it off so potato pc users can still enjoy it as well ^^)

The integration of the theme into the gameplay is really clever , the overall tone where it feels like the first system shock mixed in with portal like puzzles and humor really gives the game character, it is spot on and even if i compared it to those games it is quite original with the heart drop thing and the blocking portals. And that ending was really funny XD

Had no issues with the game itself, it feels really polished as is, just one technical thing, had some weird shadows? dark blobby things ? on some textures some times, so not sure what that is.

Other than that really impressive game overall :)

Wow just wow.

It even has a fov slider which some AAA games don't include.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

I couldn't be a fan of the late John Bain without having an FOV slider in there. ;)

this was visual good! great effort, great design, i love how you didn't make it too complicated as to where i needed to go, it was clear path, love the narration and the text! good job just playing it safe and doing both.

I cannot wait to see the rest of this! You have me hooked already. That was a lot of fun. And no it wasn't just because of the cute dog, but please keep that in.

I did find that I was able to skip some of the puzzles by jumping at what seemed like unintended walls / ledges, but still an awesome game :D

Holy shit that opening sequence!

Really cool concept with having puzzles around ejecting your heart to go through barriers and being able to walk around for a short amount of time heartless. The visual effect of that was tremendous as well and worked well.

I was a little confused at first about the heart ejecting mechanic, I think partially because of being unable to move after the preceding instruction (and before heart ejection), so I thought I probably still couldn't move at first and then wasn't sure what I ejected or that I could/should collect it. I went through that scene several times, thinking maybe I just had to go through the door and reach some milestone to proceed.

I could maybe say some minor things about some weird clipping with the models around doors, but man what a feat to do all this 3D modelling in the first place for a jam.

Oh, and fantastic job with the level design, too. I'm the type of person who very easily gets lost, like, just in general, but I never felt lost playing this game. The key card dynamic was introduced and made sense, and there were so many little touches with the map, the signs, just super cool.

Voice acting was also amazing, and loved having the text + the audio. Definitely felt reminiscent to something like Portal.

Wow.  Stunning audio/graphics, and really engaged by the game play.

I made it to a target.  I pressed r to signal I was ready.  I shot what looked a pig (after reading the description I'm guessing it was a heart?) out of my chest and then died.  Repeat 5 times.  Never could figure out what I'm supposed to do in that room.
